The trades no one saw coming

I can't see the Leafs having a ton of interest in Andersson or Buchnevich. They have better forwards than Buchnevich and I think the Rangers have so badly mismanaged the Andersson situation that I don't think the Leafs want to touch it. They played him in 42 games last year, speeding up with UFA clock and his ELC is going to be up in a year. He is going to want NHL minutes and the Leafs are not in position to give him that. He would be better off going to a rebuilding team who can take a chance on him.

Obviously the Leafs have interest in Georgiev, but I don't think they want to trade a first rounder for the third year in a row for him, or lose Kapanen in that deal.

i do not like that toronto deal. i think in terms of potential Buch > Kapanen. that's really the part I do not like. I think that swap would be the next JT Miller for Namestnikov

As a Detroit fan I like it.
