Isn't it always a matter of perspective? You can assume that Edmonton, regardless of their recent season disappoints, are the "best" situation for him. He has a home in Edmonton, he is beloved by fans, he has all his teammate's ears and focus in their dressing room. That's what the Oilers would surely say. Is that what McDavid would say? Hard to say. He obviously loves Edmonton, otherwise he would not have signed such a long-term deal coming off his ELC - he had options for a more short term deal, even 5 years, but he chose against it, and took less, to try and "help" the team through cap issues.

So again, a matter of perspective. Does a team that continuously has winning seasons, and go far in the playoffs, offer him a better situation? Maybe. If not for the salary cap, this would all be much much easier, but that's a huge consideration when you are trying to move $12.5 million AAV. I would say the Sharks would offer him an interesting opportunity, where not only the weather is constantly nice, or significantly nicer than Edmonton (ha! :P), but aside from this outlier of a season, so far, they have been a competitive team for quite some time. There are other teams similar. Certainly Tampa Bay and Boston would be similar situations, with the Lightning also able to offer tax incentives to his contract. The question will be, is there a deal out there that satisfies Edmonton enough to consider a move? I would say no. Without McDavid, Edmonton would surely be one of the worst teams again this season.

So what would it take? I would say, as purely a hypothetical, something like Braydon Point and Victor Hedman (and maybe a 1st rounder) could get you McDavid.

What about Draisaitl I know he loves playing with McDavid and McDavid with him, so does that piss him off?

Plus McDavid isn't going to carry the Kings to a cup by himself.

I would tend to agree with you, but possibly sergachev and cap hit causality type and another pick, instead of hedman and you solved it, just leaning a little younger than hedman.
