You would think so, and yea I'm pretty sure 9/10 times they would, except for the fact that on this team hes a bottom pairing guy stuck behind Hedman and McDonough, who arent going anywhere anytime soon. Do they really want a $4.2M bottom pairing defensemen? Especially meaning that they would lose pretty much all their UFA's cause the other $4M would be spent on signing the rest of the RFA's? I think TB just won't even let it get this far, and they'll do something to clear up some space. I definitely think Sergachev is vulnerable, right now I'm just trying to gauge what it would take to get him.

I'm not sure $6.3M does it but I do agree it would have to be higher $4.2M.



Tampa wouldn't even get a chance to match it because Sergachev wouldn't sign it.

Tampa has 13 players on the roster for next season so they have to sign some where between 7 to 10 players and they have just over $8M right now to do so. There are a ton of factors that can and will change TB's cap space for next season. In my opinion this would be the reason IF they decide to trade or not match an offer sheet.

With Yzerman and Brisebois being former co-workers and friends the only way Yzerman sends an offer sheet is he really really wants Sergachev
and Brisebois is determined to keep him. But I don't see that happening if Sergachev does come to Detroit it will be through a trade.
