Description
I only targeted players that seem to have fallen out of good grace with their respective teams, as I think just about all those players are not expected to report to their teams again.

The draft picks acquired for depth pieces are finicky, I'm sure I'll get random fans yelling about how much their 4th-7th round picks are.

I know Grant isn't really worth a 4th, but for some reasons GMs love him and he's having a really good season so far by his standards.

Toronto fans will probably be up in arms, but they need a backup goalie and Kevin Boyle, even though they've probably never heard of him, is actually a decent backup despite his rough AHL stats from this season (most of those are from the beginning of the season when the Gulls were playing very poorly). He's not a flashy goalie, but he has very good positioning and plays a lot like Freddy, I'm not saying he'll be that level, but based on his 5 games last year where he posted a .928 SV%, 1.21 GSAA and 0.87 dSV% despite an awful Ducks' system (thanks RC) he should give the Leafs a fighting chance in most games.

The Oilers trade works because Puljujarvi is never playing for Edmonton again and Shore, despite not getting much time this season, can be a serviceable skilled 3rd liner who can play all three positions. Oilers just need bodies that are NHLers in their bottom 6 and Shore is that (he's fast and has hands, if they put him in Kassian's spot he would likely be better than Kassian)

By acquiring a litany of highly-skilled "projects" the Ducks can free themselves up to trade some of their more established assets along with prospects to acquire star talent in the offseason. Also, all of the acquired "projects" have really good underlying analytics, so it's likely they outperform what is being offered to pay for them.

Less than 0 interest in Ho-Sang, he was a locker room cancer in junior and I think it's safe to say he still is

Can't see the oilers accepting

Doubt the leafs make a trade for a back up with minimal experience

Honka would be a decent add

last 2 trades are meh, i'd rather keep ND since we gave a 4th a 7th doesn't really do anything

Pass on virtually everything. You’re not adding any elite talent and the ducks already have plenty of fwds that are “young and cheap”. There’s no room for Ho Sang or Puljujarvi. The Honka trade is the only one I’d do but DAL is sticking to a high price for him. The Grant and Deslauriers trades do nothing but stunt the development of players that need ice time not 4th line minutes.

Colorado accepts the Grant trade. Might try to talk you down to a 5th. He is a depth piece more than anything. Decent faceoff / defensive centre though.

I like your ideas of trading Shore to Edmonton and acquiring Honka from Dallas, but I think the other moves are ill-advised.

In my opinion, Jacob Larsson is proving that he belongs in the NHL. I don't think that you can say that for Ho-Sang (or Honka or Puljujarvi, for that matter). I wouldn't trade Larsson for anything less than a viable RhD, even if we had to send a high draft pick with him.

It takes experience to be an effective fourth-line forward, and breaking up what for me has been our most consistent line (as far as regularly fulfilling their potential) as well as one of the best fourth lines in hockey by trading away two-thirds of it and replacing it with three rookies doesn't appeal to me.
