As much as hindsight is 20/20, Chevy really should have prepared for a Trouba trade a long time ago. There were rumblings of him not wanting to be there for a long time. I understand they want to win now but losing Trouba for Pionk and a 1st, he might as well just kept Trouba and took him to salary arb. and lose him for nothing next year. They essentially would have kept him as they're own rental.

As for Ehlers, they should just keep him or at least move him for a quality asset back only. They had to trade Trouba. they don;t have to trade Ehlers. There are other options to cut cap if need be.
