Description
Some are talking bout a trade with Arizona for Matthews but honestly though it is possible I would be surprised if They will give up what they will need to for Matthews. So realistically the leafs will draft their Franchise Center and be happy to do so. The one area that is in question is do they put Nylander on the wing for a year and keep Bozak or do they trade Bozak. In this post I am putting Bozak on the roster. Nylander has played well at center but it's not un heard of for young players to be put on the wing for a year or two and I could see a situation where the leafs can see the benefit of keep Bozak for a year or til the trade deadline to buffer Matthews while he gets his NHL legs under him.

Agree with the lineup and the Matthews drafting. Nothing wrong a Kadri, Nylander, Matthews, Bozak lineup at centre. On the power plays, Nylander can play the off wing (like Kessel). Trouble with trading Bozak if Matthews or Nylander doesn't work out at centre, or Kadri gets hurt, who is the next centre to get big minutes.? Hope it wouldn't be Laich or Froese. Hate to put any negative thoughts in place but Nylander and Matthews are Marlie eligible. Even next year with Michalek, Laich, and Greening, no longer Leafs forwards, maybe Bozak is still a Leaf as an elder statesman.

Although I'd personally like to see this kind of lineup...I'd hazard a guess that the opening day lineup will feature about 2 less prospects and 2 more vet UFA signings (1yr deals).

I could see them starting with this and giving Bozak big minutes with good players to show him off for a mid season trade. Then Nylander shifts to the middle and a prospect comes up

Also agree with juice; I could see a top 9 forward signing (Parenteau?) and brown/Hyman going up and down until the trade then taking a full time spot

And Laich plays centre over Hyman (seems established as a winger)
