Just a side note for the Blues. Petro and Dunn share the same agent, Mark Guy from Newport Sports MGMT. With Allen being moved today, it's entirely possible that both guys will resign with STL. If Petro walks, at this point you'd have to wonder if money isn't the issue.

lmao you still on this? give it up already. Completely unnecessary to dig this up out of the grave.
Also your math on Schwartz is way off but since you had to bring this up, I figured I'd point that out since you like to throw out "custom realities". Schwartz career average over his 9 year career is 16.2 goals (18.25 if you go with 8 season and erase his two game season in 2011-12) and 40.4 pts per season. Where are you getting "23 per 82 games for his career, and he scores at a higher rate in the playoffs, as seen on the way to the Cup". Unless I missed something, again, I think you need to recheck your math. Take away his 2019 playoff season and his career playoff stats are laughable. I appreciate what he did in 2019 but man, you're really trying hard to make a case to promote this guy as something that he clearly is NOT.

(STL/MTL) - Allen and 2022 7th RD pick for 2020 3rd RD pick and 2020 7th RD pick
Pretty fair trade for both teams IMO. The clear winner in this is Jake Allen. He gets an opportunity to showcase his talents with a different club, this time in the East, before he becomes a free agent after next year.
I gotta give it to Doug Armstrong for pulling the trigger on this trade so early. Not only does he free up cap space, but he does so before goalie musical chairs officially starts. While you can argue that the return isn't very much for Allen, the Blues could have received much less once goalies started to sign. Blues were able to get decent compensation in return and have their pick of where to send him before alot of doors closed on them and again, seems to me that they were able to send Allen to a competitive team in the process. It really helps out both clubs.
I'm not too crazy about Montreal tying up so much cap space in two goalies but they atleast have options by acquiring Allen. He's a proven netminder that actually gives Price a solid backup incase he goes down to injury or needs a few extra games off for rest. Who knows what Montreal has in their plans, they could possibly listen to trade offers for either goalie at the deadline now if they choose to do so.
I like this for both teams and especially for the Snake!

Legit source of information like you trolling these forums for your "facts"? lmfao. I could have presented any link and you'd find a reason to complain, it's all you do. Plain and simple facts, people are talking about the possibility of the Blues trading Schwartz. Whether it be on STLgametime, instagram, twitter, facebook, it doesn't matter the source, the FACTS are people are talking about it and where there's smoke, there's usually fire.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>If you really thought you had a great point, you would not have low bridged his offensive contributions (23 per 82 games for his career, and he scores at a higher rate in the playoffs, as seen on the way to the Cup). And obviously, reducing Schwartz to just a goal total ignores more than half of what makes him essential to the Blues. On top of all that, he's younger than Schenn, O'Reilly, Petro, Vladdy and Frenchy. Are we going to play pretend that they're now suddenly useless trash as well?
Hey, if you have some legit link to share to back your assertion that he can be had, pass it on over. Short of that, I call BS.</div></div>
I dunno man, maybe try searching for yourself? Just because you don't believe it or it crushes your little dreams doesn't mean people aren't talking about it. Do your own research and get your head out of the clouds. I could find several other articles of people discussing this possibility because frankly, I don't care. Schwartz isn't as good as you think lmao, he's a borderline third line player. All of those players you mentioned may be older but they are in an entirely different skillset than 17. If you can trade 17 for assets, free up cap space and keep promising young talent then you do that every day of the week!

That's funny, I've heard that he would be a possible trade piece this summer if the Blues were unable to move Bozak, Steen or Allen. Search any Blues forums or media platforms, it's brought up pretty regularly. He's not getting any younger and with cap restrictions in the future and more productive players looking for contracts, it may be best to trade Schwartz during his prime. He's possibly one of our most streaky players, wouldn't be impossible to replace his production. Sell while we can. IMO.

Well I can assure you Steen isn't going anywhere. However, Bozak will be easier to move than people seem to believe. There's several teams he can go to and instantly be their 2C. He's still producing at his age, wins a ton of faceoffs and plays solid PK minutes.

Noones going to make it easy on them to move them out to another team.</div></div>
There would be no reason to move them at the deadline. They would have to be summer deals, when they'd be more appealing to teams. Teams desperate for talent are always listening to deals, especially when they can receive additional compensation in draft picks. 100% all day that is happening.

If he wants to get paid big money then those are the teams that can do it.</div></div>
That's exactly what I've been saying. The only way Petro takes max money is to go to a noncontender. A simple cash grab. If he wants to play for a contender, he's not going to get 9mil a year. He's going to have to take a price cut, and if he doesn't take a discount to stay in StL then your guess is that he already has his mind made up. I can't see any teams spending major money right now, but with Petro knowing he will have to take a price cut, it'll be his choice if he wants to stay in StL.

I don't think a 34-35 yr old would be too offended to help a club move his contract to potentially extend his playing career. I think there would be more suitors for Bozak's services than believed, especially if a mid round pick is attached.

Again you're only calculating the additions and raises, not the potential for subtraction via trade market. Allen was showcased all season, he's not staying with the team.

There just isnt room to fit Pietrangelo even if he doesnt get a raise from his 6 mil.</div></div>
But that also isn't taking into consideration of trades to open cap space. Bozak/Allen are potential trade targets that would benefit other teams and it would certainly allow us to easily afford Petro and Dunn.
