You can’t let Rust walk. I think Geno takes 7.5M and Letang takes 7M. And Rust 5.5M(same as Zach Hyman).

And can’t trade Dumoulin either. I’d hate to see it, I like P.O-Joseph, but I think he goes if they can’t move one of Matheson/Pettersson. But wih Matheson playing well(7 goals, 14 assists, 21 points so far this season) and good NHL d-men’s cost so high, I think he gets actually gets moved this offseason.

I’d love for Trocheck to sign in Pgh; his hometown.

Canucks fans aren't gonna screech that but why on earth would the Canucks make the proposed trade?

You say no way the pens give away Kapanen for free then expect the Canucks to do that with Garland

Well I never said the Canucks would or should do that deal. I simply said they will come in screeching “Marino or no deal” because that’s what they always do in any trade involving Miller, Boeser, or Garland. I think it’s silly that the Canucks would be willing to give up Garland for anything so soon tbh. I think they will stick with him for now.

Heinen a 2nd and 5th isn’t free. A 4th and 5th is. Heinen is 26, a RFA and has 11 goals and 21 points in 41 games this season. Garland is 25 has 11 goals and 26 points in 44 games.

That second is probably ~ 20 ish spots higher than the third the Canucks are sending back, thats minimal value.

Garland has a higher career PPG, and is signed long term whereas Heinen is due for a raise.

It would be a really terrible trade for the Canucks.

Fair enough.

I agree with you on Garland. He was really good to start the year, is locked up long term, and we paid a pretty penny to get him.

Imo Miller and/or Boeser get moved before him unless someone really blows us out of the water with a Garland deal.

Again, we armt saying that it is. He said Canucks fans are gonna insist on Marino for Garland. And the Kappy trade for a 4th and 3rd is giving him away for free.

Then you said the proposed Garland trade was giving him away for free the same as the proposed Kappy trade. Heinen, a 26 year old RFA, a 2nd and a 4th isn’t free. Kappy for a 3rd and a 4th is.

Never said it’s a good trade for the Canucks and for Garland.

Heinen is underrated though and cheap. But ya, for sure, Garland > Heinen.

Heinen-16 goals and 47 points. 11 goals and 38 points. 10 goals and 26 points.

Garland-13 goals and 18 points(47 games). 22 goals and 39 points. 12 goals and 39 points. Heinen a better 200-foot player too. But again, ya, for sure Garland > Heinen. And more potential. But Heinen still under-rated.

Good because it's not a good trade for the Canucks is it. I would consider offers not involving Marino for Garland or Boeser but we are looking for picks, prospects, young studs.

Toffoli just brought back a 1st round pick, a 5th, an expiring contract in Tyler Pitlick,(1.75M), and an interesting prospect in Emil Heineman, that was drafted in the 2nd round, just last draft. Garland brings back atleast that or it’s a bad trade for the Canucks.

Agreed however I think they should try to lock down Miller too. Him and Horvat should be a good 1/2 punch down the middle. And Garland & EP40 as wings (cause he kinda sucks on faceoffs). As much as I might troll that the Canucks suck (mostly cause of the crazy Canuck fans on here) I think they are close. More of a retool is needed and to get out of a couple bad contracts.

I still have my doubts as to Trocheck being resigned by Carolina, but I would not put it past him to want to stay here as he has great bonds with Svech and especially Slavin. I mean, just look at Slavin’s and Trocheck’s post game win celebration. If Trocheck is willing to take a pay cut to stay, I think the Canes resign him. But that all hinges on whether or not he would be willing to take a pay cut like a Stamkos or possibly even Palat, to stay with the team. If he doesn’t stay, I do see Pittsburgh as a very likely destination (please don’t happen).
