Moving Up
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Devil1122</b></div><div>I wasn't sure if this trade was too much or too little
After the top 12ish, the draft drops off a little in talent.
Maybe Loui, Holbty, 9th pick for Isles pick</div></div>
Your proposal is actually quite good. To move up that much from a late 1st round pick to a top 10 1st round is about an extra two 2nd round picks, some years (maybe not this) plus maybe a 3rd round or a middling prospect depending on draft depth.
Loui dump is mid 2nd round pick. Holtby may actually fetch a 6th round pick even at his price as he only has 1 year left is not that bad a backup as the Canucks for the most part played horribly last year. If not he could be dumped for a 3rd or even possibly a 4th round pick for the reasons I mentioned. Roussel is a dump and should be no more than a 4th round pick. Beagle most likely will start the year on LTIR and no one knows if he will be able to play at all next year.
So if you took out Beagle the trade is quite fair considering the overall talk is that there is a drop after the top 10 and another after the next 7.

What's the average cost to move up 15 spots especially from a late 1st round pick into a 10 pick?
Toronto had too move salary Vancouver doesn't.
Toronto was a late 1st for 6.5mil to be boughtout and even then Dubas overpaid
Look at last yr. Detroit got a 2nd for 5.6 mil, Ottawa gave a 2nd for 6.5 avv though the actual salary was 2mil

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy12Bob</b></div><div>This would have to be a draft day trade. Detroit needs a centre more than they need a goalie so if Eklund or Beniers is still there at #6 they will keep their pick and select one of them. Yeah have to make sure that Clarke is there at 6 else don't need to make the move. I see Beniers and Eklund going 2nd and 3rd or 5th overall, at 9 there will be beside Wallstedt either Kent Johnson, Mason McTavish and Chaz Lucius all good C as well

It's possible, this is definitely an odd draft year but I don't see him going past San Jose they really need defense.
Luke will end up with NJD so I'd make sure that we have the next, next best brother duo

You must not watch other teams play. Travis Konecny is exactly what the Leafs need and underrated, he plays with heart, hard on the puck , battles along the boards and is pretty good defensively, he also has a good shot and shoots the puck. Sanheim is a very good dman he will be top 3 for sure. some team may give the leafs a 1st for Rielly and a prospect but this years 2nd round columbus pick is like a late 1st and Crouse is well ok, maybe he plays better in T.O. Nate Schmidt is a very good 2nd pair dman that transitions the puck very well, maybe better than Rielly and is fairly reliable in is own end, it's just the Canucks sucked this last year.

Question For Vancouver Fans
Not sure if the Rangers would want him back or need him but if there was a trade it wouldn't be just for futures, like what the Canucks gave to get him. It be something like what was suggested above, Pavel Buchnevich (with contract) plus Braden Schneider

Petey Offer Sheet

Ghost will certainly be exposed and most likely JVR too, Seattle will take either one of them for sure. If Philly wants Seattle to take the other as well then asset(s) will have to be given up and it will most certainly be more than a 3rd round pick as it will be looked at as a cap dump. A few other teams may want Seattle to take 2 players as well as a number of teams will be up against the cap. The cost will be high

Petey Offer Sheet
If Philly wants Pettersson they should have drafted him instead of drafting Patrick. Petey would never accept an offer from them for that snub. What's bad is thinking CBJ will do that trade 1 from 1 least of all adding a 1st round pick. And I really like Couturier. But worst of all is thinking Seattle will take both JVR and SG without multiply 1st round picks and/or high end prospects. If they wanted to move and dump both those players then they wouldn't have the necessary picks to offer sheet Petey.

I'm sure BriseBois will figure out a way to circumvent the Cap next year. Wonder which 3 or 4 players will be on Ltir next year until the playoffs. They'll want re-sign all their free agents to cheap 1 year contracts and give this group one more chance next year after they get bounced by the Panthers.

Overhaul
the cost of an upcoming UFA in Montour in this climate to a contending team at 50% retention is a 2nd round pick. No-one is giving Buffalo a 1st plus 2 players least of from Vancouver.
But I can offer Buffalo, Edler at 50% for Mittlestade, Jokiharju and a 2021 1st. This would be a similar proposal to yours.

Swedish connection
Canucks don't move JT for Nylander. JT plays with grit, truclunce, Nylander shy's away, JT back checks and plays better defensively, Nylander sometimes. JT goes to the dirty areas, Nylander plays on the outside.
Willis is exactly like his father, a very streaky scorer albeit Willie is more skilled, but still disappears a lot. For similar point production keep JT. JT is over a point per game with the Canucks, Nylander won't be near that production. Dubas I'm sure would be over the moon with that trade

take out James Neal, add in Holloway and another 1st then they may consider the trade. Nashville will get a lot more for them individually than this. 1st, top prospect, good roster player for each would be the ask and cost. to take back a cap dump add another 1st

Will never happen but would love to see
Boeser is a better player than Nylander, Dubas would be overjoyed with this trade and Benning would be fired. Unless that is end game? as for the signings I don't see Landeskog, Lowry, Larsson or Armia leaving their current teams for those salaries. Though I would like them all on the Canucks. What happened to Gaudette?

as a Canuck fan I'd wish Poile would just give us those players for this return but alas he isn't Milbury. That package without LE won't get you either one of those players let alone both.
The cost and quality of assets would not be worth it imo

Its plausible
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Redguard191</b></div><div>Outside of Karlsson for Eichel it doesn't really make them that much younger. Eichel is awesome but it isn't worth gutting Vegas' future depth for 1 player. The NHL's proven time and time again 1 superstar can't win a cup, you need a group of really good players.
Vegas is at the cap so either most of the Buffalo players get moved for picks or Vegas completely guts their roster moving players that make them as good as they are.</div></div>
Vegas has lots of good young players, this would hurt their depth in the short term but I don't think in the long run. Vegas' owner has shown that he wants to win the cup now and wants the best players. Eichel is one of those players and greatly enhances those chances for a cup.
As for the cap yes they are up to it but the players moved for these players are equal in fact a bit of a saving for Vegas this year. Even with rfa next year they will be able to keep all of these buffalo players and won't have to move any of their main pieces.
Is it a lot to give up? maybe at first glance yes but to win the cup, No

Clifton would get a shot as this team is horribly coached and playing garbage hockey but he definitely wouldn't stick, he'd get exposed even more in the canucks system than he is now. he's got more wholes in his game than swiss cheese, overrated dman, b's should get what they can for him. I'd rather keep our popcorn than have that swiss cheese. btw I actually watch B's game so I have seen him play full game and not just highlights. Have you seen the canucks play?

My Opinion on Gallagher
Gallagher will re-up with Montreal. That trade won't happen from the Canucks side, Podkolzin isn't going anywhere unless its for a younger player in early 20s not late 20s. Nor is there a deal that makes sense between these 2 teams. Gallagher's worth with an extension is similar to what Tampa got for JT Miller last year a 1st plus 3rd, and that was pre-covid, Miller at that time still had a 4 yrs left on his deal. Without an extension its a conditional 2nd and B prospect.
