None of this is likely to happen! That is the whole point of an ACGM, to act like we are GMs because we aren't. Eichel wasn't likely to get Matthew Tkachuk or a team's 2 best prospects, and 3 firsts, but they did it. I just don't get why it matters to you if I post something with 8 trades or 1 because none of it is real, they are just ideas.

It isn't like I traded Aslpund for McDavid here. This is also a website where none of us are NHL GMs. You're "playing GM" every time you post an ACGM - it is literally the name of the website.

I figured he would sign a 3-year ELC when he finishes this season and then would have two remaining after that. & I don't think they're going to get Meier or do a big move like that during the season. I think that they are more inclined to make a move like that in the offseason and I don't think DeBrincat will resign in Ottawa.

This is also a website where not NHL GMs act like NHL GMs. I don't think Buffalo will make a ton of moves in the offseason, but I would like to see some improvement in the bottom six with bigger wingers. I think that Adams will go after one big-name player this offseason, I don't think they land Meier and DeBrincat would fit in several ways.
At the end of the day, just trying to have some fun and improve the team.

the year of our lord Stanley 2024
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Buffalove</b></div><div>I think McCabe would be my top target as well
Our forwards are in good shape for the most part
Adams seems like he wants to let the Power-Jokiharju pair stay together & see how it goes
LD3 seems to be our biggest weakness
And i think I’d let the goalies play out
If i were making a wish list (within reason) for this season :
1- McCabe, for obvious reasons
2- Meier, power forward for the playoffs would help
3- Barbashev, good 2way game could fit nicely
4- Foligno, but we might have a better shot in the offseason</div></div>
This season very much feels like when the Bills broke the playoff drought. We are ahead of schedule but we don't want to give up too many assets and derail from the plan. I like that list a lot, and I think Foligno would be such a great addition as well. Just like McCabe, knows the team/city and is a leader and something they are missing. I see a lot of Minnesota fans saying the GM won't give him up, but he also makes over $3m and is getting older. Him and McCabe deserve to be part of the success of the team for all the losing they dealt with when here.

I do like the Foligno idea quite a bit</div></div>
I pretty much agree with you on all of that. I think out of all of the moves, you're spot on with McCabe being the perfect fit. He fills so many needs and is already familiar with the team/city. He would be my top trade deadline target.

I know, I always just wish they made it work. For as much as we all have them trading for another winger, I don't see a splashy one. Greenway makes the most sense if they were to go get a guy based off of Granato's liking for him and the cost to acquire him.

I knew it was a little light, I'm just unsure of what the Panthers would want? 2023 1st top-10 protected, Mitts, Bryson, and Bloom maybe, or 2024 1st, Philly 2nd, Mitts, Bloom?
I supposed it depends on how badly they need to shed salary and if Reinhart's pending FA after next year impacts a lot of teams. I feel like there has been some buzz around some of the Sabres guys on Twitter with the Sabres and Reinhart. Not sure if that is just something they want to see happen or if there is anything real going on there.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>zvirbuly</b></div><div>but Pittsburgh also gets better and is in our conference :D better to trade somewhere else</div></div>
I understand what you're saying, but it seems like most are underwhelmed with Bryson and trading him to Pittsburgh doesn't necessarily make him that much better. He is already playing in a system that is friendly to his skillset and not exactly thriving. I don't think their team is better than ours and I think adding a defensive-defenseman like Dumoulin makes us better where as a Bryson move to Pittsburgh keeps them about the same.
I could certainly be wrong, and it is tough to trade with someone you are directly competing with, but I just think we have a flat-out better team so I don't fully see it as being the difference between the teams over the stretch run. I do see your point, though.

Agreed. I now have it stuck in my mind that Fleury needs to be a Sabre and if it doesn't come to fruition, I will be very sad.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rktkt66</b></div><div>The Tampa trade seems very plausible and the kind of low-profile move the Sabres may resort to.....
However, as much as I'm 100% in the camp that Bryson needs to be dealt because his contributions don't make up for his liabilities, Granato seems to like him and probably won't endorse dumping him for a draft pick. Similarly, Lyubushkin has not been great and struggles with the speed the Sabres want to play with but he's still a better skater than Schenn. I also have a feeling the Sabres won't want to send the message of abandoning free agent signings just a year into the term, as silly as that may seem.</div></div>
All good points and I agree. I don't see either of the moving really, but the main point was to Vancouver fans that this franchise does not want Tyler Myers back and please stop sending him to us. I've seen some where they eat part of his deal and we send a 7th, or we send Middelstadt and two seconds for him with no retention. Either way, it enraged me into making an ACGM.

Fair point. I like him and Foote and would take either or due to their pedigrees. Ideally I would like the Sabres to acquire one of them and then could take back a bad contract.

What do you see as an appropriate return for Borgen? I think a lot of Sabres fans were sad when he left because he was pretty much exactly what they needed, and I've always been and a fan and think he would go well with Power or as a defensive minded 3rd pairing option.

I was listening to a podcast today and they made it seem as if San Jose is still trying to compete, which I thought someone that has Olofsson's goal scoring prowess, would mean they would want someone to contribute now. I would like to keep Olofsson for at least this season because he has provided the depth scoring we need, but I felt as if he made more sense than someone such as Middelstadt.
