That second Window
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jeg5393</b></div><div>Agreed, its a lot. I like using the Toronto trading Marleau to Carolina as a basis. a 1st round pick for $6 that carolina had to be. I was thinking actually dollars not necessarily cap hit. If the extra 1st is kept, then theres still $2 million in cap hit that needs to be addressed. Just trying to be realistic about that it would cost. The only other way i see it working out is moving Rust and i just dont think that'll happen unless they can move rust with granlund and petry at full cap hit.</div></div>
You could be right in saying that's what it would cost - I'm not saying it's necessarily crazy unrealistic. I just don't think it's worth it.
Karlsson is great, obviously. I think the team as is definitely needs some kind of upgrade like him. I just don't think he's worth 2 firsts, a 2nd, Smith, Poulin, Blomqvist and retention more.
I'd be comfortable with like Petry(full cap hit), a first, 2nd, POJ or Smith, and another "good" prospect from our system. Or even if you just did the SJS trade in your mock with no Petry retention. Anything more and I'm not sure it's worth it. As much as I think they need an upgrade like this. Yeah Rust definitely isn't going anywhere.

Next season doesn't matter. The United States of America will cease to exist on November 3, 2020. No need to worry about hockey after that.

Pens fans do you think Jarry is the future in Pittsburgh
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jeg5393</b></div><div>GMJR already has the expansion plan ready with DeSmith. I believe that's why he got a 3 year deal to be sure they would have one goalie to have available. After this year I believe they will sign Murray to a 4-6 year deal worth around 5.5-6.5 mill. mostly dependent on how the rest of the season goes. Jarry will get a 1 year deal similar to DeSmiths, from there they would wait until after the expansion draft to decide on Jarry or DeSmith so they only have one of those two eligible for expansion. From what I've seen Murray plays better with fewer games and some competition. Last year when DeSmith got more starts and played will Murray miraculously started playing better something like 0.940 save % after Christmas to finish the year at 0.920 which is slightly above average for starting goalies (he was 10th in the league last year). If Jarry plays the same I would expect Murray to turn it around and play better.</div></div>
thank you for this great analysis!!!! Murray should not be playing close to 70 games. thats exactly why he struggled so much last season early on. Pens will give more starts to Jarry and Murray will improve dramatically to end the season.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Copenhagen</b></div><div>Real stupid that they are looking for someone that can play with them for the next 8 years and build with. It is not like they are even close to winning any cups with Rust in the lineup! Stupid like that.</div></div>

Meanwhile it’s been reported that oilers asked for Rust in a Pulv trade and pens declined lol.

How much do you think Matt Murray will get in his next contract
I am thinking either 2x6 or 8x8.5. 2x6 as he has had some issues and its a higher level semi bridge. 8x8.5 If this year looks good and we lock him down forever.

Thoughts from Pittsburgh Hockey Now
Zucc will be fetching a 1st and a mid prospect at least maybe a little more or a top prospect straight up but the only thing pittsburgh has to offer is a 1st and mid prospects which nyr would rather trade to probably a diffrent team instead of rivals.

WPG thoughts
I understand that it would be a fair trade technically speaking but Lowry is worth so much more to the team then that, he is an absolute beast in shutting down the opponents top line every night and plays special teams, sheary and a 2nd are two things the jets don't need, they are very strong on the wings and the cupboards are stacked with young talented prospects so the second is worth very little, you did a good job value wise but there is no chance the jets make that deal

I have a job and a new baby so if I don't make my team immediately SOOOOOORRRRRYYY. But you are not a BOG member no matter how much you want to be so you can seriously get the ... out right now!</div></div>
Well I am a BOG member, and I'm saying this: Dangles, Im asking you to tone down your comments. They are unecessary and can be hurtful at times. You ask for more respect from me, yet you constantly insult me and belittle me, even when I'm speaking about something that is in no ways relevant to you. I'll gladly give you more respect, but I'd want some back as well. I'm saying this as politely as I can. This doesn't just apply to me though, as I've seen you go after many other GMs just because you don't like them. I think we should all take a breather and stop from the hurtful comments.
I told you about this in the BOG thread. You ignored it and replied to another user insulting them. So I can't say I haven't asked you this before. Just so it's clear, I'll say it again. We will gladly give you more respect Dangles. But you also need to give just as much respect back to the rest of us. I am in no way a dictator, a hypocrite, or delusional, yet you constantly call me that. <strong>I'm asking for this to end once and for all.</strong> I'm hoping I can get a positive response to this message, one without an insult. Thank you

GM GAME - Montreal Canadiens

I didnt realized we needed third party confirmation. How are we notified that it was confirmed and acceptable?</div></div>
Hehe, sorry it means I make an offer, you say if you are okay with it, and then I say it's a deal then.
Sorry if I confused you. (3-way handshake is an IT thing, so just ignore that)
Offer -> acceptance -> confirmation from the one making the offer.
I might make two offers and confirm another one before I see your response to my offer, so we do this to prevent accidents from time differences and such. :)

something
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>djsuperdock</b></div><div><div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>orignalsix</b></div><div>I question all these Pens that think Hagelin can be offloaded to Vegas. His departure is very questionable. Same with Fleury, it's really just hoping he would agree to a trade.
It's easy to sign players when you have cap space. Try making a lineup with Hagelin and Fleury. To answer your question, I like the signings.</div></div>
Well the pens will protect 4-4-1 which would be Crosby, Malkin, Kessel, Rust, Letang, Schultz, Dumoulin, Maatta. That leaves Vegas with not much to pick from since Guentzel & Sheary are exempt also and Bonino is UFA. The 3 options I see Vegas looking at are Hagelin, Hornqvist, and Cole. I'm in the camp that believes Vegas will actually need to take on some salary to hit the cap floor, they can't just take all RFAs on cheap deals. So I really think they will be between Hornqvist and Hagelin, therefore a 3rd rd pick seems like it could convince them to take the contract with more term, who is also a younger player more likely to rebound instead of decline like Hornqvist.
As far as Fleury goes, yeah he's gonna have to accept a trade proposal from the Pens. There's even a chance that he could be a Vegas candidate if he's open to it. Most pens fans are believing he's not going to screw over the team but who knows.</div></div>
Caps/Pens series will be the decision maker for McPhee. He knows the Caps well and understands the circumstance. If Fleury can silence his demons and compete with Holtby the way Andersen did than I think it's a no-brainer for McPhee. He could select Grubauer, Raanta, and Fleury and have quite possibly the strongest net in the league next year, and then figure what he wants to do from there. Many people say "they will just go after a free agent" but that's a very risky move for a new franchise who needs a guy who has shown he can play a full season as a starter.

Dear lord look at all of that cap space....
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>F50marco</b></div><div>Not all of those players are full cap relief from the LTIR though. That only applies to guys who virtually gone for the year like Dupuis and/ or rookies.</div></div> that is actually false, yes it does not provide cap relief in the sense that we can just trade for top guys with tons of money, but we can tee for guys with term that fits the total term we have lost. For example, if we lost Letang for 7.25M...we can get someone up to that much money. Also, it won't matter anyhow because all of those guys are not coming back until playoffs where cap and roster rules do not apply..so come off your mighty horse and no what you are taking about prior to calling someone out.
