<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>iAce</b></div><div>I can agree with Byram's value dropping. I don't think it should, but health is a big part of making a trade. He's a hell of a player and talent. I don't think the fit is right and really the Wild wouldn't want to move on from Ekkers. Hes been big for us and is playing well with Kap and Boldy. For any team to get Ek, it would take a monumental over pay and for a division rival, even more.</div></div>
I agree that Minnesota wouldn't move Ek and also agree that the fit isn't there. My main point is that Colorado won't be moving that type of package.
I guess my frustration came through with the Eichel comment. That was kinda dumb in retrospect. But like I said, seeing Avs fans trade Byram, a first, etc has struck a nerve. The team isn't paying that kind of price.

Wow! I forgot that Nashville is retaining 4 mill of RJ's contract for 2 seasons.
No way the wild deal EEk. Breakout season last year and they signed him to a great deal to be their 1C.
A package for a guy currently in the player assistance program, an undrafted AHLer and a 3rd and 4th get him isn't even close

Minnesota trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GeneralLandro</b></div><div>I laughed just as much seeing that😂
The Liljegren overvalue got me more than the Willy one did honestly</div></div>
Hey, I'll grant and give Leafs fans Lily is a 2nd pairing caliber defenseman all day long. There IS value there.
The problem is that Faber is literally a 1st pairing caliber defenseman as a rookie at 22 already and only going to get better. There's a reason that even Devil's fans can agree his value is on par with Hughes right now.
And we already know that NJ doesn't trade Luke Hughes straight up for Nylander either. The same literally applies to Minnesota with Faber. And that's literally the reason why it's such an overpay. That's two players in this trade that Minnesota wouldn't trade for Nylander in an even 1v1 swap. Let alone both.
They want to trade us Nylander? Cool, he's a guy we can't afford to resign, so he's strictly a rental. Therefore he gets rental prices. I'll give them Yurov, Kumpulainen, and a 2025 1st (top ten protected).
And NO I'm NOT giving Toronto a current top 5 pick/potential top ten pick for a rental Nylander. The 2024 1st isn't available. Just like Boldy. Just like Faber.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nylander ain't that much better than Boldy. Christ, the massive overrating of Nylander by Leafs fans is getting old.
I guarantee you Minnesota doesn’t trade Boldy for Nylander straight up. Cry all you want, Boldy has the edge in both age, term and control. Not too mention full potential.
Dewar is a speedy bottom six defensive minded PK wizard who was top 3 in SHG across the league last year, and oh yeah, just scored a hat trick Friday night. I assure you Robertson doesn’t carry that much more value than him. If any at all.
Holmberg is an Ahl'er at age 24, had 13 points in 37 games last year. But went scoreless in 7 games this year. But somehow carries better value than a 3-time Stanley Cup champion who currently has 11 points in SIXTEEN less games than it took Holmberg at age 35?
Mmmmmm'kay... whatever you say, you're wrong, but okay.
Yurov is a top A-level prospect who's worth at minimum of a 1st. While Faber currently carries around the same value as Luke Hughes.
The value here isn't close, and HEAVILY favors Toronto. Don't be a 🤡.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>iAce</b></div><div>What would a trade for Turcotte look like to you? I'm intrigued to get a guy who might be able to help us up the middle.</div></div>
Frankly, I don't think there's a world where Minnesota and the Kings are trade partners including Turcotte. His health is too variable, and I think the only way the Kings would part with him were if they were using him as the finishing piece to a much larger package. Something like what it would have taken for Chychrun.
Turcotte's value is just so hard to gauge right now, because every other team trying to acquire him will low-ball LA and and poitn to his health. But the Kings won't want to sell low on a previous #5 pick when it hasn't been a skill development problem. The kid can play. I'd argue his value is probably mid-round first (13-18OA) pick if I had to guess. But no team is going to be willing to take that chance on a kid who hasn't stayed healthy.

It's kind of sad that when you critique the coaching staff as a player on the Minnesota Twins, and now the MIN Wild, they talk about family culture and openness, but it doesn't exist</div></div>
I don’t necessarily disagree with your dislike of Dean, but I think it’s more of a system thing. I also don’t think BG has unconditional love for DE…BG didn’t hire DE, he inherited him.
I certainly agree that I hate BG’s philosophy on young players, and his unwillingness to let them learn in the NHL.
I have a strong dislike for Leipold…from how he got the team, to how he dealt with Suter, and now his unwillingness to think long term!! I mean they are in cap hell (because of him) and then not allow the team to tank for top 5 picks!! WTF!!

Dean Evason and Bill Evason enabling him are still here. The bs with not having a country lockerroom yet no veteran besides one like fiala who pushes dean Evason bottlims ever get held responsible. I just don't get it. We have an owner who wants to sell tickets and I get it, but they talk about fair treatment, yet rookies and young players get the wrong end of the stick. Veterans like Jon merrill, and Zuccarello do no wrong. Dean Evason is a big issue

1. You know that the Kings have Doughty, Roy, Walker, Durzi, Clarke, Spence and Grans all on the right side, correct? Addison MAYBE slots in above Grans in terms of the depth chart vs current development.
2. Turcotte doesn't need a fresh start, he needs health. The Kings have shown that even with only a few weeks of health, they are willing to give him NHL minutes.
Kings pass on this one, very quickly.

The most realistic offseason I can think will happen
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy_Guerins_Burner</b></div><div>Fleury will stay, he will end out this season with us and i wont be surprised that if in next summers free agency he will sign a contract with Pittsburgh just to retire, guys like Goligoski and Fleury I dont think will move because they aren’t waiving their NMC, and they won’t waive because they dont want to uproot their families, thats mostly the reason they have those NMCs anyways, and i dont see them moving Gus, maybe Addison but thats it tbh</div></div>
Basically, though I do think they'll move Addison and replace him with a cheaper veteran that could be sent to Iowa in the unlikely scenario a guy like O'rourke or Hunt has a good enough camp to make the team. That will shave off enough money to sign Ryan Reaves since Guerin seems to like what he brings. Pretty good chance they run a 22 man roster until the deadline, where they once again tinker around the edges without making any major trades.
Things will get a little more interesting in 2024 when Hartman, Fleury, Zuccarello, and Foligno are all UFAs.

Realistic Scenarios
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>iAce</b></div><div>I think somewhere like a 2nd and 5th. Doesn't have to be same year but I see his value as higher than Greenway's. This is the same value Greenway got. We don't need to trade Foligno and he's coming off his worst year in 3 years so the value is poor if you only look at this year. I think he could get a 2nd and 3rd maybe 2x2nd's if the team loves him and could extend him. Looking at a 3 year average. He will get 41 points, 119 PIM, 18% shooting %, 269 hits and 46 blocks. Brings leadership and has worn the A for 2 years now. He is a perfect playoff type player on the 3rd line</div></div>
The 3rd is honestly just what I’ve seen others trade for him. I thought it was a bit low having watched him play a bit and is why I added that maybe a bit more would be needed. But I can’t disagree with your assessment, it seems that Foligno should be in high demand and so a 3rd would be too low for a guy Minny doesn’t need to trade but can if they just want to shed a bit of cap. And tbf I haven’t looked at his stats or anything, just noted the toughness and leadership and figured he would be a good add. With those stats he’s definitely worth more

FWIW I would make this trade in a heartbeat as a Wild fan. They won't ask him to waive, but I'd love for Guerin to shop him and bring back Dumba at a fraction of the cost. Gotta make tough choices with 14.7M in dead cap.

Fleury isn't retiring. He's chasing Patrick Roy or whatever his name is, he's chasing his record. That much is clear which is why he's coming back

MAF has said publicly he isn't retiring and he is staying in MN. and Murray at 5m is 100% a negative value to the wild (as a backup) and probably most teams.

Minnesota has zero reason to trade Hartman. G is the last thing they need with Gus, Fleury and wallstedt. LTIr doesn't work like fans think.

Ask me about the Wild trade in 2 and a half weeks after we've decided to tank or not. BTW Middleton has more value than Hartman right now. If I was the Maple Leaf's gm and I gave up this much for Ryan Hartman I would expect to be fired. You give up that much for someone like Timo Meier, not Hartman.
