With all due respect, Minnesota has zero reason to ask their captain to waive. He's a Canadian that lives full time in Minnesota with his Minnesota born wife. That isn't enough Value

I think a conversation about Jared spurgeon would need to start at like a jack quinn and a 1st or something insane, which would be a non starter with buffalo I’m sure.

They have plenty of reasons. They are in cap hell for multiple seasons.

Funny that people used to talk like this about dumba

Being in cap hell doesn't mean they ask spurgeon to waive or trade him. Not how it works. Teams don't just trade their captain especially one with 5-6 years left. They are in cap hell for only 1-2 years are trying to win

FWIW I would make this trade in a heartbeat as a Wild fan. They won't ask him to waive, but I'd love for Guerin to shop him and bring back Dumba at a fraction of the cost. Gotta make tough choices with 14.7M in dead cap.

Swap the 2024 2nd for someone like Artem Grushnikov and Dallas accepts. Think Nill would rather hold on to his picks right now. With his success in the 2nd Round & his proclivity to hold on to higher draft picks, he's going to try and move a prospect before moving another top-64 pick.

I was thinking the same thing. If we were offered Quinn and a 1st I'd be begging Spurgeon to waive. Look hes a captain, great player and does a lot of things for this roster. Give him the love for that. But he's also been here for 10 years and gets grouped in with the old regime. Not saying he isn't worth the contract or hes a crap player but the Wild do need to move on from certain players. Is he one of them? I don't know but people gotta recognize that he's been here for 7 straight first round exits. Time for tough decisions.
