I would do Wood for JVR if it was offered sure. Slide Farabee to 3RW and have Hayes center him and Wood.

I would agree. Norris has been a joke for a while now.

Ideally we move JVR for pick(s) only. The cap space moving on would be valuable and our top 9 left wing depth is still strong even without him.

Question for flyer fans
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ALitteral</b></div><div>Myers ceiling is a top pairing dman. He is big and skates well. I'd put him as the 3rd most valuable dman on the team behind Provorov and Sanhiem.
I don’t see the Flyers moving him at all given the organizational depth and age/upside.</div></div>
This. Ghost would be the one moved not Myers. Our top 2 defensive prospects are lefties. Our RD depth is ****

A few of these guys aren’t there yet in my opinion. Time will tell.
A few seem to be here based on reputation and not recent performance
A bit to much emphasis on points for me it seems and not enough on actual defensive or at least 2 way play.
My 2 cents. Be safe all

Looking at them after signing Lindblom
I’d do it for the cap space. Giroux, Lindblom and Farabee down the left suits me fine.

Realistic offseason
I’d do the JVR deal for the cap space
We don’t need Simmonds
We really don’t need another LD......we need to evaluate Provorovs long term partner options. Keeping in mind our top 2 defensive prospects are lefties.
Provorov /Niskanen
Sanheim/Myers
Ghost/Friedman
Above works for next season and allows York and Zamula to progress. Braun leaves via free agency and Haggs asking price sets his fate as the 6/7.

Offer Sheet
I would think Tampa wants to keep their 3 big RFAs first and foremost. Couldn’t a team like the Jackets structure a deal where they get Alex Barrie-Boulet and a dump
for a small asset maybe? I was under the opinion he just needs a shot that he may not get in Tampa.

Would you make any of these trades for Sean Couturier
Sorry to the fans of other teams. Some of these are ridiculous and I love Coots and think he is definitely our best player overall. We have zero reason to move him anyway. Coots,Hayes and Frost down the middle and if Patrick returns he can play 3RW.....decent depth in my opinion.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>flamesfan</b></div><div>So philly fans think frost is worth giving up for Dumba but not gaudreau?</div></div>
Dumba is more of a need in Philly than Gaudreau. Neither a glaring necessity. Wouldn’t move Frost for either as I don’t think we need to make any moves other than moving Ghost and JVR. With a Patrick’s uncertainty we need Frost.

So which of Provorov, Sanheim, Myers and Dumba are we leaving exposed for the ED? The necessity to move Ghost is we can’t protect him.....so we deal him and our top prospect for another defender and still have to leave one of the above mentioned exposed. No thanks.

With Giroux we don’t need Gaudreau especially at that price. Most Flyers fans know that. Frost and Sanheim are necessities.....Gaudreau is an unnecessary luxury we can’t afford long term anyway. Don’t take it so personally when fans of other teams logically refuse a trade.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BurnEmUp</b></div><div>They have no reason not to. They are deep at C, and deep on LHD and most of all, they are getting the best player in this deal and it's not even close.
I get that they are also deep on LW, but the only guy on LW who can compare to Gaudreau on the Flyers is Giroux, who they could put back at C if they wanted to which make a deadly top 9. Plus Gaudreau has played RW at the worlds on US teams that were stacked on LW and never misses a beat.</div></div>
Our Centre depth after Coots and Hayes is weak. Patrick is an unknown. Laughton isn’t good at Centre. Frost is an important piece long term. Giroux doesn’t and hasn’t played Centre in quite a while.
The difference between Giroux and Gaudreau doesn’t warrant the Flyers giving up Sanheim ,Frost and a first. Like I said.....we have no reason to do this.
Then there’s the salary cap. We can’t afford him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SkatinTintin</b></div><div>on the 176 d-men that played more than 615 minutes
expected goals for per 60 minutes: Mete is 103rd (2.25), Gost is 138th (2.11)
goals for per 60 minutes: Mete is 66th (2.61), Gost is 146th (2.04)
The individual offensive stats are even funnier:
Mete had 2 more 5v5 goals than Gost
Mete had 27 more shot attempts than Gost
Mete had 12 more high danger chances than Gost
His shooting percentage is 7%, Gost is 4.4%
And all that while Gost took 7.5 more offensive zone starts per 60 minutes.
Mete doesn't play powerplay, and Gost is good on the powerplay, so you got that going for you.
Should've traded Gost when you had the chance, looks like you're stuck with him now. A team without anything at D might give a 3rd or a 4th round pick for him.</div></div>
So your using one season? One that Ghost was hurt. Ghost still had one more point in 9 less games played while playing hurt.
You’re just cherry picking stats to suit your narrative and not objectively comparing the 2 players.

Gost is also an extremely sheltered d-man due to the fact that he's irresponsible with only 18.7% of his ice time against elite competition. Mete is at 29%.
One is 27 and plays like a rookie, the other is 22 and plays like a vet already. I know who I prefer, thank you.</div></div>
So you use defensive related stats to prove your point. Level the playing field then and add offensive impact. I’ll wait.

Ghost was hurt you know. It also affected his confidence. He was much better before the stoppage. Zero chance we move him for Jack Johnson. Although Ghost isn’t anything special defensively he’s far from as bad as these boards claim. Funny how his point totals are never mentioned when determining his value especially since he is an offensive d man. Doesn’t suit the narrative I suppose

Flames trade Gaudreau
I don’t see the big necessity for Philly to move a bunch of assets for Gaudreau or any winger for that matter regardless of how good the player may be. Our winger depth is fine and moving out a defender like Myers sets us back as far as the defense goes. Patrick is a wait and see.....no reason to move him when his value is low.

Philly is not trading Patrick, Myers , Farabee and a 2nd for Nylander. That’s horrible for us.
