If Lohrei is in a deal there’s definitely not a 1st also going back. Lohrei straight up for Hanifin would be the deal.

Sharks actually have plenty of cap space. Matt Benning is done for the season, they just haven't LTIR'd him because there's no benefit to doing so until they're going to use the space, so that's 1.25M freed up. In addition to that, there's a strong chance that one or both of Herlt* and Couture are done for the season and can be LTIR'd to take on bad expiring deal(s) from elsewhere.
* Herlt is the Fanatics spelling of Hertl from a jersey I saw someone wearing earlier this year, my friends and I have been spelling it that way since.

I mean retaining on our own players for extra assets. Would even retain on duclair for a third and sell Mario for a first and take a bad 1-2 year contract back

Three Team Trade- DeBrusk
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>beantownboy17</b></div><div>I think the Bs are scared of all the blown leads so they're going to prioritize defense. Ferraro is cheap, signed for term, can play PP and PK, and eats minutes and hits. Not a true #1 but would definitely help the team.
And I'm just worried that DeBrusk is going to walk. I know he's said he wants to be here long term but I doubt Sweeney will pay him market value, and other teams certainly will.</div></div>
Ferraro is a good player who isn’t someone I’d target with our limited asset base.
I’d rather just stick with DeBrusk and if we can sign him, great. If not, there should be a viable replacement in free agency.

Three Team Trade- DeBrusk
Swap out Foegele for Ceci (dependent on if we can land Carrier) remove Mitchell and EDM can add a prospect going to SJS.
Something like:
EDM In: Debrusk 50% Out: 1st 3rd Ceci and C+/B- Prospect.
BOS In: Ferraro and 3rd Out: Debrusk and Brunet.
SJS In: 1st, Ceci, C-/B+ Prospect, Brunet Out: Ferraro, 50% retention on Debrusk.
Would be nice too if Debrusk says he would resign with EDM.

Maybe he isnt a cap dump but the sharks a giving up ferarro who they want a first for alone and eating almost 5 million in salary that does squat for them and giving up a random prospect, there is just very little incentive for us to be a part of this deal when it is more beneficial to keep Ferraro or trade him for a first on his own and use the retention slot for another asset.

You could target Skjei, Forsling, Stamkos, or Lindholm at that point. Probably a few options. Maybe even trade for Hertl.

Either that pick is high in which case Ullmark isn’t worth it, or we’ve figured it out and thus aren’t paying big for a goalie
Call us today, and you’re sold with protections on the pick.</div></div>
boston doesn't have a cap issue for next season - if they're moving ullmark, it's just for value, not for cap purposes.

Its not what you think
Forsling is an option, but you could probably get him for cheaper and most importantly, you should. Same for Stephenson who has regressed this season and you're signing him until he's 37. Rather wait for a real top line guy. Lyubushkin was good in Arizona, but he's played like a 7th D recently.
Top6 is decent but you better hope Poitras and Lysell take a big step otherwise good luck with Marchand, Coyle and Stephenson regressing. The lack of elite/top line forwards will likely be an issue.
Kuntar has played well on the 4th line in the AHL. That's not comparable to the 4th line in the NHL. Boqvist has been a top line AHL player unlike him and Beecher; he's better than both. Beecher has also been a fringe NHLer, not sure what he's doing that makes him so much better than Boqvist or even Lauko and Steen.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>beantownboy17</b></div><div>Definitely scraping the bottom of the barrel for ideas but I'm just sick of bringing Lindholm and Hanafin in. I don't love Lyubushkin either, anyone who's a good 3rd pairing defensive first RD you can think of? And what's a better number for Stephenson? I think he plays well with good players, and thats all thats really available. No real studs. But Pastrnak is would be the best player he's ever played with, so it may work well.</div></div>
i think a viable option here is to just leave the center position alone. Coyle and Zacha have done okay. You know what wouldn't be a bad option if the bruins can't execute some of the moves they want to? throwing good money at stephenson on a one year deal. Then the following two years, the following centers have potential to hit UFA:
McDavid
Draisaitl (I would think one of those guys likely switches teams)
Crosby
Eichel
Jenner
Stamkos (if you consider him a center, which I personally don't)
Duchene

Hanifin Three Team Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shaun80</b></div><div>Edmonton is giving up the most in this trade and getting the least back.</div></div>
Considering Broberg sucks and Foeggle is an expiring contract that even having a career year is still overpaid…I’d say not. Though i think EDM dumping Kulak or Ceci as opposed to Foeggle would even it out more.
Debrusk is an easy extension for EDM and upgrades the roster.
Flames get some futures for a guy with one foot out the door.
Sweeney gets the D man he has wanted since he was in HS.
Pretty solid all around.

Agreed with one but not interested by the free agents. Kessel is barely a 3rd liner and you've got van Riemsdyk and DeBrusk on the 4th when they're both better players and should both be in the top9. I do expect a push to get Bonino.

Trade deadline
Oskar Steen turns 26 the day after the trade deadline and has a completely undistinguished resume of 8 points in 56 games over the 5 seasons since he came over from Europe two years after being drafted in the 6th round. (For comparison, Ducks fourth-liner Brett Leason has 12 points in 42 games this season and 32-year-old fourth-liner Sam Carrick has 10 points in 50 games this season.) He has zero trade value and we wouldn't pick him up off waivers. Jakob Zboril turns 27 before the trade deadline and is a first-round bust -- fortunately, from my point of view, because he was taken 13th overall with the pick acquired from the Kings in one of Dean Lombardi's biggest mistakes. As a LhD, he's entirely redundant to a team that has Cam Fowler, Jackson LaCombe, Pavel Mintyukov, Olen Zellweger and others on that side so again, we wouldn't pick him up off waivers. The over-the-horizon third and future seventh are what we would charge you for Benoit-Olivier Groulx.
The idea that this package would get you a guy who would be fourth on your team among forwards in scoring and your first center off the bench on the penalty kill is troll-level.

2024-2025
If this is in the offseason, I think the Bruins would probably accept this assuming they don't get a better offer. The Bruins probably don't accept this in-season this year though. I only mention that because you threw in that Toffoli trade, which makes me think you see some of these happening by the TDL this season.

Tell me this is wrong
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tupty</b></div><div>I don't think Lauko is a lock. He should be,but his play hasn't shown that. I hope he locks it down tomorrow though.
The 13th forward doesn't need to be a 4th line plug. The Bruins have plenty of guys they can call up for a short term 4th line role and send back down that either would clear waivers, or wouldn't even need waivers. I could see Heinen or Boqvist being a 13th forward that can effectively slot into the bottom 9 for a few games on either wing, but the same can't be said for Greer or Brown. And through the preseason, Heinen has shown more than Boqvist. I wouldn't be so quick to write him off.
And at this point, I think Lohrei is destined for a top 4D spot this season, but probably not to start the season. By the end of the season, I think he'll be there.
Can't wait to see what they actually choose for this team on opening night! Hoping Poitras can stick for the year, too.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>Lauko is the most likely to be claimed. I’d be very upset if he was let go</div></div>
He won't be sent down because he <strong><em>will</em></strong> get claimed. He is pretty much a lock to make the roster, this doesn't mean that he will play every game tho...although I would personally like him to.
