Big Trades (STL, LA, CBJ, TOR)
Personally id do all the deals minus the Ferland deal. No need to dump him for picks he's a versatile guy and fits in really well here. He's the perfect fit for Janko/Bennett that will be a tough line to deal with.
Also Backlund likely will get less with the rumoured cost. good work man!

I hope Francis is right about the 5 million tag, that would fit in perfectly going forward..... Gotta think with the number coming out now they are looking at making a move, exciting times.

Bad contract swap with CGY and Hanifin!
As a flames fan I take that deal, would open up the option for us to trade Brodie for a Fwd.
Good work on the deal.

Trade Dougie
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ItWasIn</b></div><div>Nylander or Marner have to come back if Dougie is being traded</div></div>
Totally agree with you, but its gotta be Nylander++ coming back in my opinion. Not sure if you agree, but I would be disappointed if it wasn't a 1st+Nylander+D replacement
Edit: Also I don't support moving a top pairing D who is under 25, as Gio is 34 and sooner or later Dougie will be our best Defenseman. You dont move these type of players unless they ask, or we have a guy like Adam Fox come in and takes ice away from Dougie then I could see us moving one or the other. Otherwise don't move a young 50pts Defenceman, who is just STARTING to become better and better in his own end. You can see Dougie separating players from pucks and breaking up cycles, he is the real deal.

Division Rival deal LA/CGY
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ItWasIn</b></div><div>Honestly I've thought of doing a Toffoli-Brodie deal before lol</div></div>
it just seems to make a lot of sense as LA really needs a top 4 D badly, Calgary needs a RW seems to make sense, just dont see it happening in season.... LA has some skilled players coming and could probably move on from Toffoli to help their backend.
Personally I think when we are able to separate Johnny/Monny it will make this team more dominate, adding another shooter to play on this team will probably push us over the edge.

Trade Dougie
No don't part with a top end RHD d who is 24, without getting a solid RW back is a non starter.
Last D man with any ilk that was moved, was Seth Jones for Ryan Johansen, Calgary will not move Dougie for a package, we need to upgrade our roster, not add depth. Also Dougie is probably worth more than a middle 6 winger, bottom end 1st rounder and a B prospect. Doesn't fit any needs

MTL/CGY - Gallagher
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Artuma</b></div><div>We have Juulsen projected to come in next year so we will have Weber, Petry and Juulsen in there, no real need for Andersson. Kylington is more interesting as far as needs go but still I don't think that's enough. Bennett for Gallagher as a base may be good but isn't Bennett playing at wing now? We would be looking for a surefire centre.</div></div>
Sammy could probably be a C with the proper wingers, he has come a long way in his 200ft C game, but him with Chucky could be a fit as they are both fast skilled players, Bennett lacks finish, but can make a play.

Brouwer is mostly a cap dump.... If RD isnt your need fair enough. Just thought Andersson would fit in well behind Petry/Weber and add a bit more mobility to MTL blueline... If not we could offer a LHD like Kylington.
Perhaps the deal might need to be around Bennett/Gallagher. Thanks for the feed back

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Zeerak</b></div><div>Yea I think moral of the story here is that we need a guy who has that shoot-first mentality that'll be able to help the pp. I do think though the way Cameron has the pp set up is flawed as well, they don't penetrate down low enough, don't get enough traffic in front of the net for their point shots and have nowhere near enough movement from everybody in the offensive zone. We also seem to constantly go on a trend of dominating teams but not converting our chances. A guy who can wire the puck might help change that but idk if I'm okay with giving up anymore of our draft picks/prospects.</div></div>
There is very poor puck movement along the half wall, they do a terrible job of taking the open lane. We dont go low to high enough to create any lanes... Just gotta think the PP is becoming a mental wall to this team at this point...

That PP was horrible again... I still do not understand why they don't put Dougie out there and just simply shoot pucks... LAs pp is so damn simple but it works, get the zone move it to the point and shoot it....
Personally I think we need to find a way to add a top 6/9 Forward before we can do anything, we are not going anywhere if we don't have a second line of consistent offence. I love Frolik/Versteeg but neither of them are going to be filling the net. Would be nice to have Hoffman here, at least we would have another shooter.

I'd take him at the right price, still has loads of IQ and has great vision... it's gotta be pretty tough to succeed in buffalo with that situation and expectations.

Bennett had his development impacted by an injury, and awful circumstances (bad/awful linemates except for the one year he played with Backlund).
Bennett is back on track.</div></div>
I absolutely agree with everything you said here.
Although I think Sam Reinhart could be a target for Brad at the deadline, he won't be moving anyone off our roster.. it would be likely a defense prospect +... I like Reinhart and think he could be a nice fit long term to play with Jank/Benny going forward.

When Frolik Returns- Lines
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Zeerak</b></div><div>I llike the idea, this configuration will give more of an offensive spark to the janko line and turn the backlund line into more of a conventional shutdown line with three veteran 200 foot players. But you're right, if we could somehow get a right shot forward that can put the puck in the net, we'd be golden.</div></div>
Thank you very much. We are missing that R handed trigger man, and I dont think we are getting him this season... At the draft though there will be some RFAs floating around that will be needing new contracts that could be a fit. Personally I think we gotta take a look at: Sam Reinhart, Ryan Hartman, Willian Nylander, Joel Armia, Ryan Strome, Ondrej Kase, Jake Virtanen just a few player that would fit the age of our core going forward that have to potentially to be more impact players....
As for the deadline I would like to see us make a move to bring in an upgrade at C ice from Matt Stajan, I mean Mike Smith has more points......... Could become really dicey if any injuries occur, I think we could target a guy like Zemgus Girgensons, Colton Scevoiur, Mark Letestu type addition.
The other addition I have been bouncing around is Brock Nelson, Nelson would probably fit in Bennett/Janko well as he has a heck of a shot, shoots L, which stinks... Although it would allow the 3M line to keep doing its thing and bump Brouwer down to line 4.The cost is likely Michael Stone. It might be addition by subtraction... What I mean is Andersson comes up to take the place of Mike Stone, opens up a bit more pace to this team once again, creating a quicker transition on that 3rd pair, Stone's skating gets him caught out of position, and hampers his ability to get a stick on pucks from time to time, thus he's a master of shot blocking.......

Nylander
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Zeerak</b></div><div>I get what you're saying with the age difference but brodie is also on a pretty team friendly deal and Nylander will need a big raise after this season, so you'd have to factor that into it as well. But I do think right now a big need for us is a scoring winger, preferably a right shot. Everything else looks solid, so I wouldn't want to fill a hole by creating another one, which is exactly what we'd be doing if we dealt gio, tj or dougie for a forward. I would not however mind if we could deal stone + a prospect for a good scoring winger, although I doubt that happens.</div></div>
You gotta wonder what a guy like Ryan Hartman costs us. Chicago will be in a money crunch again, and he's a guy we might be able to grab at a cheaper tag that fits the bill a bit...
I agree we can't afford to move a d till we have one forcing our hand (Kylington) then you can make that deal with TJ

Depth and experience for the playoffs
I personally think you just do the first two trades, there is no need for Franson with Kulak here. Gully wants the L/R combos, so I wouldn't do that also Lazar looks like he might turn that corner, I'd like to see him continue to play, he is looking more and more effective lately.

I think you'd do brodie+b prospect for nylander would be fair. As both are cost controlled assets but as I said previously I think you have to offset the age.
