Carolina wants scoring at TDL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BeastModeUnknown</b></div><div>Well with an extension he is 60+ Point player who can do some damage for carolina should be worth it.</div></div>
maybe. just doubt they trade bean, unless they're getting a star player in return. maybe someone like Roy, Gauthier, ect and a 1st they'd be willing to part with

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LetsTalkNHL</b></div><div>Fair enough.. it was said that hell be asking for Tom Wilson money... although I can't see him make that much, he probably cracks the 4.5M mark. If the Pens don't trade anyone, it won't be affordable. They'll have to move a few guys to make it work. Id love to keep him around if possible though!</div></div>
i heard about that tbh but do you think tom wilson have gotten that big extension if the caps didn't win the cup? i think that plays a big factor into why wilson got overpaid, i mean the guy has never cracked 20 goals or 40 points in a season. and then in the playoffs he has 15 points in 21 games and gets a huge overpay. now ferland on the other hand has cracked 40 points and 20 goals once. but hasn't done much of anything in the playoffs, it wouldn't surprise me if he got a similar style deal but i doubt it goes over 5 million per , all in all he's def someone i want on our team, especially when they have to play against the caps

What now
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LetsTalkNHL</b></div><div>The thing is Carolina is only 3 points out of a playoff spot, and some people have said that maybe they try and make the playoffs. Of course, we can sell off pieces for Ferland, but he won't sign with us on July 1st.</div></div>
canes aren't going to let him walk, and they aren't going to resign him. playoff or not that's just how the canes do business & who says he won't resign ? , people have this assumption that some team is gonna pay out the ass for him in reality he won't make over 3 - 4.5 million. at most. that's affordable for the pens. if pens would trade for him and he's around those star players he'll want to stay

What now
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LetsTalkNHL</b></div><div>With this current roster, I already don't know who will be left out once ZAR returns.. If we do bring in someone for our top 6, I don't know if id like it. Giving up a 1st for a rental doesn't seem ideal, and if we want to bring in someone who's signed past this year, well have to get rid of someone with cap, who'd probably be Olli Maatta, and I doubt GMJR does it. Its a tough call..</div></div>
ZAR & simon are probably on the table as far as a trade goes. i wouldn't have a problem trading either of them for Ferland. that's the type of guy the pens need. especially come playoffs and the eventual Caps series. gonna be a lot of gooning going on from WSH. ferland can play that style as well as score.

Bjugstad is like the centre i wanted when i did tom pyatt from ottawa to pens armchair gms. Theyre great defensive shot blocking centres like Bonino. Rust is fast like Hagelin. rust is basically a right handed hagelin, but better hands, shot , ect. i don't think there will be another HBK line, that was just pure magic. so much fun to watch

just from last night i'd like to see Bjugstad stay as the 3C with rust and kessel on the wings , they all had some chemistry. pens still have their first which likely won't last very long, gmjr probably will use that first and a trade chip like Simon and jarry to bring in ferland or somebody

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>hockeyfanatic05</b></div><div>Another great trade for JR. Got rid of a struggling Brassard who was gone after this year and Sheahan who wasn't doing anything and making $2 mill for a top 6 player Bjugstad with years on his contract and a solid depth piece in Mccann. JR also kept the 1st rounder so he can still use that to fix any holes</div></div>
i'm not comfortable with how many picks jr gave up tbh. especially when penguins find their best draft players in the mid rounds. probably will miss out on another guentzel

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jetman</b></div><div>I like it..."who's had"....Brassard is not playing well hence why Pittsburgh hasn't re-signed him and is wanting to trade him. Perreault is a consistent 3rd liner who the coach will know what he's getting.....
The reason for this trade is the fact that the Jets need a center and not another LW</div></div>
3rd liner making 4 million for 3 more years, hence why no team wants him. pens especially don't need that on their cap.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jetman</b></div><div>These cap hits are not bad at all(4M)...Brassard is also a rental.... Perreault is worth more than Brassard</div></div>
4 million for a player who ,
-has never scored 20 goals in a season
- has never scored 50 points in a season
- has only 4 goals in 34 playoff games.
VS 3 million for brassard who
- has had 50-60 point seasons
-20+ goal seasons
- 23 goals- 59 points in 90 playoff games
no way in hell Perreault is worth more. maybe to a gm like chiarelli / Bergevin but not to a smart GM

maybe better this year. but to say he's a better player is just not true. brassard is a second line center on mostly any other team and carries more value not to mention being on a decent contract at only 3 million & being a proven playoff performer only adds to the value and interest of other teams . Perreault's cap hit is terrible, as is Kulikov's
