They have a combined salary of less than 2 million and one is a UFA I thought benn could help you guys out with the playoff push as he is a rental who can kill penalty extremely well and is a reliable 3rd pairing guy as for Hudon he is an unproven young fast forward with some upside and poetential. So its still basically a cap dump.

Habs need a LHD so naturally any that are speculated to be available are players MB would consider. Based on age, contract, cost etc etc etc, Maatta kinda fits the bill. I think they're more looking more for a Gostisbehere type dman though. They need a PP qtrback and offensive minded dman of the top 4 ilk.

I don't think this Maatta to Habs trade will happen though. Habs best asset to trade is picks and prospects. Taking any quality roster players off our lineup in trade other than a couple wingers, isn't going to make them better.

We can't get a guy like Ghost unless we give up Players like Romanov or Poehling which just isn't going to happen

But yes I agree. The thing is though, people want good players but don't want to give up what is necessary to get them. So how does one expect to be in the running for that player when they aren't willing but others are? Not saying we should trade those guys though.

Haha so used to talking about about my leafs I said we the habs are my second favourite team anyway (which is pretty unheard of from a leafs fan , but yeah I just heard the rumours and did my best with fair value (or what I thought was) I think MTL will slowly integrate their prospects into their roster and make a few trades and I think With the likes of Suzuki, Poehling, Romanov, Yloenen and Primeau. they will slowly become sort of what happened to the leafs just less full blown tanking haha.
