Do you seriously believe that Minnesota will trade you their 21 year old Calder nominee right handed defenseman and a 30-goal scoring two-way forward on the right side of 30 for a B-prospect, a first-round bust, and a late first? This is un-precedented levels of delusion

Would you take that Boldy offer for Caufield? If not why would Minnesota take that? Boldy is better offensively, significantly better defensively, and cheaper than Caufield

That D core though. But I agree, I think they try and grab a good defenseman in this draft and keep Boldy.

What would these guys cost and are they available
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BCAPP</b></div><div>That much eh? He's the only guy on the list under 20 minutes a night.</div></div>
First, he's at 19:57 with zero PP time so it's not like we're talking about someone getting 16 minutes. Second, he has another year left on a cheap contact when we still have one more year of cap hell left. We have no need to trade him so it will likely take somewhat of an overpayment to get him. To replace him in the lineup will likely cost us more so we would need a decent incentive to make our already complicated cap situation even worse.

Absolutely zero chance Minnesota trades Brodin, much less while retaining 50%. It's laughably bad.

Yeah this is a hard pass from Minnesota. Rossi is a top 5 rookie and shaping up to be our 2C of the future. He's 22 with a lot of potential still. Brock is a solid 2C right now, but is 32 and costs millions more than Rossi even with retainment. This trade is DOA.

That would be too funny. Minnesota trading for Fleury was why Talbot asked for the trade out of there.

Brodin is worth more to the Wild than that. I doubt that would get them to trade him.

Shakeup
Both teams say no for different reasons. Minnesota is probably still holds Rossi in high regards -- even if relative to his draft position he won't reach the ceiling of a top-line center -- his projection is still in line of a second-line, 200-foot center. His early season results so far this year, he leads the Wild in possession and has been their best play driver, with horrendous luck: PDO of 0.935. He is coming off 16-35-51 in 53 games played last year in the AHL at age 21 and 18-35-53 in 63 games in the AHL at age 20. I think there is no real caution other than lingering post-COVID issues that Rossi will not be able to adjust his game to the NHL and be a play driver. He also has another year on an ELC compared to Pinto who still needs a contract for the penny pinching Wild.
For Ottawa, they are trying to build their young roster, not trade players from it. They missed on DeBrincat but got their core players locked up and aren't going to wait to find out if Rossi is going to be what Pinto is for them already. He also isn't "proven" by any means. He's played 100 games and has 43 points. He certainly looks like he is going to be a contributing player to their team. He's <em>shown</em> his capabilities, let's see if they can be replicated.
I also don't understand the sentiment that Rossi is a bust simply because he isn't where Pinto is along their development. I like Pinto and believe he is going to be a good player, but Rossi's ceiling is absolutely higher from an offensive, play-driving standpoint and is skilled in other areas that Pinto is not. Simply because they are at different points along their development curve does not mean one is better than the other.

He’s still unsigned. Should tell you how high his ceiling is thought to be by his own team.

Looking at their extensions
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>drambui</b></div><div>not gonna lie, i really dont like what guerin did with this team. i though he would be someone who would bring changes, but he's pretty much doing the bare minimum.</div></div>
Doing the bare minimum is the S.O.P. until the buyouts go down until after 2025. Expecting anything more than that is foolhardy.
Extending Zuccarello at that price and term is really good. It buys him the time necessary to wait for the kids to become NHL ready and push for a roster spot in a couple of years.
Foligno is and will always be a pretty big overpayment. Both in term and cost. But Guerin himself more or less admitted that he knows it but didn't want other teams to be able to poach him away from the org. He feels Foligno's off-ice impact is too important to the org to lose.

Red Wings make trade for playoffs
I say this as a Minnesota Wild fan.
Detroit OBVIOUSLY doesn't do this.
That said. Guerin accepts the trade in a heartbeat, let's the paperwork go through, gives it a week, then calls for an psychiatric intervention out of concern for Yzerman's health and mental well being.

WHAT EVERY CANADAIN TEAM SHOULD DO JETS EDTION
I'd hope the Wild wouldn't make a deal like that.
Wallstedt could very well be a top tier franchise goalie. Perfetti isn't likely to be a franchise 1c center and Boston isn't likely to fall off so much that the pick ends up being a top 3 pick that gives the Wild a shot at drafting one, so better to stick with the player who has a higher ceiling.

If Goligoski was willing to go to Arizona, he'd be there already. The Wild approached him about waiving his NMC, he said no. They're stuck with him.
Any JEEK for Nylander trade is a L for the Wild. They've got him locked up at a great cap hit long term, they'd be dumb to move him. Same with Boldy.

need centers
Speaking of needing centers, the Wild also need a center who can play top 6 minutes. They also need cap space, so retaining isn't something they're going to do.
You'd need to offer a package that blows them away to get them to trade Hartman away, this isn't it.
