Canucks decline. Pick 11 is off the table unless you’re taking OEL’s full salary and can convince him to waive his NMC.

I wouldn't trade Hall, Carlo or Swayman along for that package. There is a whole lot of nothing there.

Man that Capitals trade is horrible. Dumping Mantha isn’t going to cost a Top 10 Pick and aside from that Chicago doesn’t have a single asset anywhere near worth a Top 10 Pick. This is disgustingly bad.

Detroit 100% passes on both trades. 9oa isn't for sale in a Cat trade, and Boston's first is worth way more than Josh Anderson

He came on real strong towards the latter half of the year. No question he has a good shot and has offensive skill and his metrics are outstanding but for some reason can’t find his way out of any coaches doghouse.

~.5 p/pg is pretty underwhelming for a 3 OA. That's obviously more on the Habs to wear than the Canes though.

Ducks Realistic Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>I can't see us trading John Gibson without getting a 2023 first, unless the package has a much more useful A prospect than a LhD who is behind Jackson LaCombe, Pavel Mintyukov and CFL Defenseman of the Year Olen Zellweger. <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TM11</b></div><div>Dont see Gibson getting anything more than a first, especially with nothing retained. He definitely doesn't get 2 First and more.</div></div>
I have said it before and I'll say it again, I love Gibson. But, he is not worth a 1st at this point. He is extremely talented but hasn't shown up for a whole season in like 5 years.
He won't get traded because he is worth a pair of 2nds (or a 2nd and a 3rd) to the rest of the league but if Ana trades him for that, their fan base will riot.

Realistic Kuzy Trade Destination
For where the caps are in their window they need with a kuzy trade to either 1) clear a lot of cap space to add a true top 6 player 2) get back significant futures or 3) drastically increase the ceiling of the team. As you said yourself kuzy is the more talented player and has the much higher ceiling. even if johansen returns to his best form (after putting up an absolutely garbage season this past year), the caps are not one 60 point center away from competing. If kuzy returns to his best form, and puts up over a ppg while being a legitimate gamebreaking talent, they definitely could be.

Don't think this really does anything for the Caps. I'd rather just give McMichael the 2C spot and save the money. Use the cap space to get a young very good top 6 winger.

Horvat trade comparison
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>probablysleeping</b></div><div>Dubois is not better than Horvat.
Middle of the line 60 point 2C. Has been brutal in the playoffs so far and is a whiny baby about where he wants to play. Nobody is going to be jumping at a chance to throw their assets at him, and Montreal can just wait him out.
I don’t know where you get your logic from but it’s beyond off the grid. I’d like the phone number of your drug dealer because he’s selling you some grade A stuff man.</div></div>
Lol. Dubois averages 57 pts a season to Horvat's 55 and doing it while he is 3 years younger. Try and park the bias and be objective.

Ylonen is not comparable to Raty. Ylonen was drafted in 2018, Raty was drafted in 2021. Ylonen is a winger, Raty is a C. Raty put up better numbers in the SM-liiga as a 19 year old than Ylonen did as a 21 year old. You’re looking at someone like Beck/Mesar/Barron/Kidney as a Raty comparable instead of Ylonen

Nah 20+ teams would be on him easy. Doesn't matter if he's a rental or not, the return would be crazy. But again, it doesn't matter, Caps aren't trading him. Wilson already said he wants to stay and Caps said they want to re-sign him. Things would really have to go south for him to get traded.

What are the Sabers Plans- IDEAS
We can deal Olofsson. If we decide to retain I think we can get a 2nd or 3rd. Krebs ideally can be our 3rd line center. The fact that he is producing at a 30ish point pace playing 4th line minutes and no PP is impressive. His defensive game has grown and so has his physicality. Hard to say what the right thing to do with Savoie, Kulich, and Rosen is. I truly believe they are all NHL ready and if they had the opportunity to play top 9 mins and some PP time for a full 82 game season could each reach the 30-40 point mark in their rookie seasons. However, the Sabres management is patient and I am grateful for that. If Savoie doesn't make the team out of training camp he plays in the WHL, likely Winnipeg would deal his rights to some up and coming WHL team. Kulich can make it out of camp and could slot in on the 3rd line. However, I am more than comfortable keeping him in Rochester where he will be the best player on the team and having him be our call-up when the inevitable injuries occur. Rosen is in the AHL again next year. Johnson could very well still sign, the 3rd LHD spot is open for the taking as is a spot alongside Owen Power.
This is a critical offseason for the Sabres because now they finally have the organizational depth of young guys competing for a limited amount of space. How they navigate who plays where and who they end up trading will show us if Kevyn can take us from a building team to a playoff contending team. We certainly don't need to bring in any more forwards via trade/FA but RHD needs to be addressed as does a suitable goalie situation.

You bring some good questions, I’ll try to give my take, apologies if I miss something.
I think Okposo is likely gone, he’s lost a step this year and although his leadership is valued, I don’t think he’ll be good on-ice next year. Girgs may be back on a one year deal. I think Oloffson is gone, he has slumped at the end of the season when this team needed to be winning, and doesn’t add much beyond sniping. We have enough skill on the wings that he should be traded in my opinion. I think Savoie comes to the NHL starting on the wing, he won’t benefit much from playing in the WHL next season. I think Kulich stays down, his all-around game still needs some work, and there’s only so many 1st/2nd year wingers that can play in a lineup and be very competitive. I think Krebs has been on the fourth line this year in part to develop his defensive game. Next year we might see him in a third line center role where his improved defensive game can help support the young wingers.
I also think Johnson could end up signing. Granato has been shown to be flexible and not sticking to left-right handed pairings. The Sabres top3 is set, but Johnson could end up beating out Jokiharju at some point to be Power’s partner, which would be good for a second contract. Johnson and Power have both played some on their offhands in college.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TM11</b></div><div>Oh yeah i didnt see the oshie down there, but yeah 100% if hes gone they will have to ride with Ethan Frank there and I think hed do a good job, but I would love to get Boeser there. And lets be honest its better 17 years with OVI and we haven't changed anything on the PP haha. But yeah If you watch a Colorado or Tampa all the movement on their PP is mesmerizing and then you watch all of us just stand still, I do hope they get some better skaters this offseason, push Backy to PP2 and rejuvenize the PP</div></div>
Its gonna be a tough sell to get Backy off the PP1. Best passer of his generation, he is not easily replaceable. Hopefully we overhaul the PP and then get some more movement

This is a cool concept and a pretty damn good list. I get putting Fehervary here, but he's more of a defensive minded guy with some offensive skill in my opinion so i'm not sure I'd have him here
