Ottawa becomes a wagon somehow
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>No from Winnipeg. Far too much from Winnipeg to make a lateral move on defense.
The Jets are currently one of the best teams in the league with one of the best team defenses. Making a grand bad trade likely isn't in the plans.
Chychrun hasn't increased his value in Ottawa over what the Senators paid for him.</div></div>
Offensive defender and depth scoring for defensive defencemen and picks isn’t a lateral move imo. I say you guys get even better with those players

Trade value (which I don't like) aside, I'd be hesitant to take on Hart. I mean OTT didn't sign Formenton so why sign Hart unless they know he's in the clear.</div></div>
They know who’s involved and who’s not, it’s common knowledge within the hockey community if you know a player who was on the WJC team or know a player on one of the teams that a WJC player played on. Hart is not involved and formenton definitely was.

Risky trade for sure, but it could work out, plus think Huberdeau is just of a bad team, I guarantee him with Stützle he would be at least a 70 point player, not worth 9 million but definitely could make it less bitter. Many insiders said Ottawa doesn’t get any Defensemen unless they take in a bad contract. This is the bad contract.
Also I don’t understand your Philly trade? If we remove Norris Philly doesn’t accept that. Also Norris does not hold more value then Hart, I say they are probably similar, Forsberg is a negative asset in my opinion and probably Philly’s so 2nd for compensation

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DH28Hockey</b></div><div>Respectfully, that's a no from Philly and it's not even close.
Forsberg is more or less a Cap dump, Boucher is a huge project at this point and even though I like Norris his performance this year and injury last year leave too many question marks on his long term value with that contract.
On the other hand, Bonk is having a fantastic D+1 year and looks like a borderline top pair prospect, Hart is one of the better RFA controlled Goaltenders in the league, and that 2nd rounder has more net value than either of Forsberg or Boucher at this point.
I'll put it this way: if Philly is offering Hart + Bonk in a trade package for Ottawa, the guy they're probably asking about is Tkachuk (even though I don't think Ottawa does that/that'd be enough)</div></div>
Take away bonk from the trade, would you do it?

Also got to take to account Canadian taxes and such, I agree his likely worth around that much. Heard he’s willing to stay in Calgary for around 9 Million so I’d assume Ottawa would have to offer that much as well.

Batherson and Konecny have very similar value, the added prospects and picks puts that way over the edge so we get depth players back and a prospect. Seems pretty fair to me. Y’all can keep Batherson if you want, just thought you rather flip him for picks and a pretty good top 6 guy. Change the 2nds you get to a 1st and I think that’s more then a fair trade

Any TK trades starts with one of the 1sts and one of your top prospects just as a starting point. Briere doesn’t even want to move TK. It was rumored this offseason he wouldn’t even listen to offers that didn’t start with multiple 1sts and multiple good prospects</div></div>
Both Boucher and Sokolov are top prospects. Sokolov easily makes your 3rd or 2nd line on a rebuilding team. Briere has shown interest in Boucher. We could add another first or another prospect, but the deal is pretty fair

Or when he comes back next year. Sure Tarasenko and Kubalik would be off the books and the cap will go up. BUT Sanderson is getting a 7m+ raise next year also.
This doesn't work.</div></div>
I see your point but many teams have done this and it works out, cap circumvention I know, but I say we let kubalik walk, maybe trade Joseph if needed, and see what we can do with a Tarasenko contract, I think we can fit the team under the cap if the right moves are done.
