<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Knuckl3s</b></div><div>The Pens could work out an extension with Boeser before making the trade. Vancouver isn't letting Boeser walk for nothing</div></div>
True, but Boeser isn't even top-10 RFA forwards this summer, Throw UFAs in the mix and Boeser is not top-25, and those UFAs are "free". Vancouver is not going to get anywhere close to what the people on this site think. The Penguins gave basically a 2nd and a B prospect for Rakell. That is probably a ceiling estimate for Boeser's rights. However, I don't see anyone giving him a QO at $7.5M so he will either sign a considerably less average deal with term, and as those kind of trade and signs are rare it would probably be to stay in Vancouver, or become a UFA.

Kapanen, Blueger, Puustinen, Poulin, 2nd for Boeser
The Pens have a better chance of just waiting for Vancouver to not QO him and sign him as a UFA than to offer this package.

For me he's only untouchable if there's no one to replace him. Signing Klingberg would solve that. I'd move him for a legitimate 2C and I doubt Van moves Miller without a 1st.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pensfan89</b></div><div>I thought it was kind of weird tbh when I saw it on a blues ACGM but didn’t see too many have negative reviews of the trade. So figured maybe it was close. This was with the idea that they traded Scandella and a 4th to Detroit for a 4th. So it would be with the idea the at they traded scandella.</div></div>
He's emotionally attached to every player on the Blues and think they're worth max value. He blocked me a long time ago.

Overhaul
I would do the Kapanen to Detroit deal.
He's a good fit, with very good defensive numbers (more takeaways than giveaways etc.) and he's a right handed shot which we're short of. Kasperi also has better numbers overall than Fabbri does even if he doesn't rebound which I think he's likely to.
The only drawback I can see to that deal is that he isn't bringing Pettersson with him, fix that.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>turtlemountain</b></div><div>Maybe I’m out of the loop, but why is every Pens fan trying to move on from Zucker?</div></div>
He's a cap casualty. He's been good when hes in the lineup but injuries have made him expendable since the Pens have won without him. Clearing his cap hit would guarantee Rust re-signing.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pensfan89</b></div><div>Pens decline. Marino value > Boeser value, Zucker >>>>>>> Myers</div></div>
Especially since the Pens would be getting an extra $3mil towards the cap that they just cant afford.

Vantender
That is terrible cap management by the Penguins, so no way that trade happens Pens sign the superior hometown Trocheck to play centre instead of trading for 5m Garland.
Pens keep long term and cheaper Marino rather than Myers. And the Pens keep Poulin.

No chance. Marino for Boeser is a wash, and Canucks would add because Marino is more valuable to them than boeser is to us. Pens are not adding a prospect and a first

Yeah I always thought Dumoulin was underrated especially in those 2 Pens Cup runs. He'd be perfect for Seider. 👍

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pensfan89</b></div><div>From what I’ve heard, it’s the Canadian and california teams that are on his NTC. I’d think Philly isn’t on his no trade list. But I can’t imagine that teams would take less than anaheim was getting. Teams know how desperate vegas is to get rid of him now. From what I understand is that not only do they need to get rid of Dadanov, but they need a significant LTIR contract too just to get Stone off LTIR. Which really limits their choices.</div></div>
Oh wow, yeah, that <em>really</em> narrows down their options, like, a LOT. Woof. I think that takes the options down to Chicago and Philly, and I don't think that taking Shaw's contract is would be enough to get Stone back -- and I don't think they make the playoffs without Stone. Only question there is whether or not Philly still has faith in Ellis's return for next season, I guess?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>The trouble with Dadadov trade is that if he that M NTC, it's finding the team he would wants to be traded to, and can have his cap for next year.
Vegas other option not to trade Davodov and trade Reilly Smith 5m and is UFA next season. That would be a cheap trade.</div></div>
Yeah, as far as I can tell, the teams that are 100% out of the playoffs & with 5m in cap space are Arizona, Buffalo, Columbus, Detroit, New Jersey, Ottawa (ha), Philly & Seattle - I think it's a safe bet that at least two of the eight are out (most likely Arizona and Ottawa) but given that we know that Anaheim is on his no fly list (sorry, sorry, i crack myself up), I think it's unlikely that all of them are off the table. There's got to be at least a couple of teams on that list that Vegas can try calling - and if I'm one of those GMS I take them for all I can.
They'd be insane to try and move Smith. Sure, he's UFA next season, but it would be a genuine mistake to break up the Misfit Line if they're serious about trying to make the playoffs.

Free agency plus trades
Rakell isn't worth 6.5. He hasn't been at a 30 goal pace in 4 seasons. Right now he's worth 4 x 4, maybe high 4's IF he has a solid playoff. I could see Rakell taking a 1 year deal to bet on himself if Pitt brings everyone back. Kapanen deserves 2, but would get more in arbitration. Rust for 3 years will be 6+. He might take 5 for a 6 year deal with NTC. Erod should be a little less hopefully. Lets hope Letang does that, and Malkin goes 7x3 or 6x4.

That was a literal guess. But it just makes sense though. I couldnt see them trading Hallander after just reacquired him.
And the Pens having a lot of young goalie depth now. Clang and Blomqvist have value. Both highly touted goalie prospects. Both were top 6 goalies in that draft class.
Between u and me though. I don’t really know much about either really but from what I do know, I would rather have lost Blomqvist than Clang.
I think Clang is a bit further along. And he won his leagues MVP, on a last place team. That I do know, and I also know that doenst happen too often. So he must’ve really showed-out. And he has a great onomatopoeia for a goalie’s last name. CLANG.
