Kapanen, Blueger, Puustinen, Poulin, 2nd for Boeser

The Pens have a better chance of just waiting for Vancouver to not QO him and sign him as a UFA than to offer this package.

The Pens could work out an extension with Boeser before making the trade. Vancouver isn't letting Boeser walk for nothing

It’s not gonna come down to a QO. Boeser likes it here and likely signs a long term cheaper deal in Vancouver. If not, the Canucks can file for arbitration and bring his price tag down to ~6 mil

Can't believe how clueless some people are to how a QO works. The player doesn't have nearly as much leverage as people think they do

I think I’d rather resign Copp. Not as good as Miller, but cheaper and we don’t have to trade anything for him. Plus I’m really liking Korczack who’s a center and probably only another year out. I’m okay with rolling Mika, Copp, Chytil/ Goodrow and Rooney next year as they’ve been pretty damn good this year.

I got time for that if it's enough to make the Rangers a contender next season

Then the Canucks can just keep him lol. Would pay that package for Miller, but not Boeser.

They kinda do when the other team is cap strapped.

You have just proven that most people are clueless on how a QO works. You think that players can just take their QO whenever they want. If that’s the case, why didn’t Jake DeBrusk take his QO? He later signed for less than it. Boeser can do the same. If you respond with “keep him”, I’ll just say “sure”.

That's not even close to what this trade has the rangers giving up, so, first, grow up, and second, wake up.

Ok so let’s get this trade straight. The main pieces are: Cuylle, Lundkvist, Kravtstov, 2024 first
Cuylle is just another one of Ranger’s prospect that was recently drafted. Not of use
Lundkvist is currently your 4RD behind Fox, Trouba, and Schneider. He is a small offensive d man that isn’t even producing that well in the AHL. Even our prospect Rathbone is better than him.
Kravtstov is pretty much a reclamation project that doesn’t want to stay in New York. He has little value now as he has said he’s not going to play in New York.
A 2024 first pretty much helps neither teams in the near future.

Sure you’re right that Folignos trade and this trade are different, however the difference between Miller and Foligno is a lot more than the difference between a first and a fourth, and a first and a couple prospects. Give your head a shake, I don’t see you making any good cases other than whining and complaining that your whole team is untouchable. This trade doesn’t even contain any of your top prospects yet you’re still crying. Laughable, take off your homer glasses and see the world from beyond your own whiny perspective

True, but Boeser isn't even top-10 RFA forwards this summer, Throw UFAs in the mix and Boeser is not top-25, and those UFAs are "free". Vancouver is not going to get anywhere close to what the people on this site think. The Penguins gave basically a 2nd and a B prospect for Rakell. That is probably a ceiling estimate for Boeser's rights. However, I don't see anyone giving him a QO at $7.5M so he will either sign a considerably less average deal with term, and as those kind of trade and signs are rare it would probably be to stay in Vancouver, or become a UFA.

No what I said proves that you might be clueless on QO’s and your comment proves it. Debrusk signed a bridge deal for less because he doesn’t want to play in Boston and wants traded and believes that will help him get traded as no one, especially contenders that are cap strapped, wanted to trade for him to take on his insane QO. Comparing Boeser to Debrusk is comparing apples to oranges. You say Boeser likes it in Vancouver and is willing to sign for less than his QO to sign long term in Vancouver. That doesn’t mean he’d be willing to do the same with other teams. Debrusk signed a deal less than his QO to make it easier to trade him, but didn’t sign a long term deal. Only signed a bridge deal. One player apparently wants to stay where he’s at, the other doesn’t.

The thing you miss over and over OR ignore is the cost for 1 year of Miller. His value is HIGHER to a team that can sign him to a new deal, and that's NOT the Rangers. A 3rd grader could understand that, why can't you? No chance is heck the Rangers pay this price for Miller. Dream all you want, and then grow up some troll.

That package is nowhere near enough to get you Miller. Asking for Miller costs Marino +

I see your point, wanna bet $100 Boeser re-signs a 3 year deal between 5.5 and 6.5 million AAV this summer?

With the Canucks he might. Not with another team.
