If Minnesota wanted to move from 13OA to 5OA on Draft-Day
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>drambui</b></div><div>exept rossi is not worth 9 overall anymore.</div></div>
Guerin and Hughes, would have to discuss what to do with Colorado's 2nd round pick, if they disagree on the value of Rossi. But the structure of the trade would still have to look something like this. Otherwise Guerin just says no. (Also really depends on who is available at 5OA). I don't see Minnesota parting with Rossi unless they get at least 12OA value for Rossi. (The 12OA has a value of 30 [PuckPedia Perri Pick Value Calculator] and the 13OA has a value of 28. So you could drop Colorado's 2nd from the Habs side of the trade, and the value is about equal from both sides.)

That's okay, Harris and Farrell aren't worth their draft positions anymore either.
Rossi is still a 22 year old middle six center, at worst (played like a 2C most of this season), with the potential to become much more.

If the Wild really like someone available at 5 or somebody like Levshunov drops, the Wild would very much consider this.

Interesting. This is roughly something Minnesota would consider depending on who they like at 5.

Mitch Marner Trade Ideas
You wouldn't get McTavish even if Mitch completely waived his NMC and allowed a 31 team bidding war.
Let that dream die, as it's less likely to happen than I am to enjoy a night of passion with Katherine Zeta Jones.

It's not a matter of how many late 1st round pieces you throw at a wall seeing if something will stick.
Reinbacher or 5OA is the basis of the trade.

Zegras isn’t available, nor should he be. If you want to reel him out of ANA I don’t see anything other than Foerster and the PHI ‘24 1st that’d do it. More than happy to decline anything else with no regrets</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>Thanks for the counter-argument. It's always great to get an opposing viewpoint from an equally committed and knowledgeable Ducks fan.
My comments are always based on accepting the poster's premise that Zegras is available at all. I'm sure you know that my position has consistently been that he isn't. Since it probably isn't obvious that this should be taken for granted, perhaps I should premise every initial comment in any thread with that disclaimer.</div></div>
It would take Foerster and their 1st for me to listen on moving Z, otherwise I’m not wasting time on the phone and keeping the fella around as part of the core

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>That's an entirely reasonable offer for Zegras, but isn't quite right. Anaheim just signed two excellent 21-year-old goalie prospects and has a third in the system, so Bjarnason doesn't move the needle. Our standing request is for Tyson Foerster and the 2024 first. We can understand your reluctance to part with Foerster, so we would accept Brink plus the Columbus second with the appropriate prospect -- I think that it would take Oliver Bonk to complete the deal. (In short, substitute Bonk for Bjarnason in the offer shown.)</div></div>

First, highly unlikely Minten and Cowan are NHL ready in October. Same with Quillan and Tverberg/ Domi can play centre. Keep Jarnkrok at the forwards are set for a 22 man roster. Now let's Lauzon stays a Pred.
A basic 5m Saros for 11m Marner swap. Leafs have then 6m to fill out the roster. Would Nashville add? Do the Leafs have any leverage?
Personally I wouldn't mind Saros and Marner straight up. Seems like god Marner is not wanted by the Leafs

Why is jarnkrok involved in this? Theres already so much cap coming Nashville’s way with Marner. <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>If Nashville is trading for Marner they need to move some of their forwards out since a lot of their young guys lose waiver exemption this summer</div></div>
I guess we move them for a center or rhd upgrade.

Its more than just reluctance for Foerster. The leeway he was given to grow out of his early struggles more or less shows how important he will be to this teams future. To Torts he's literally the perfect player. Scorer who's incredibly efficient in his own zone. Brink was't given any of that time in the slightest. Suggesting Bonk is more than a fair ask, but since he's pretty much our only RHD with top pair potential certainly a tough decision

Marner to MIN
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>I think that Nashville is the best possible destination for him -- contender status, tax advantaged, low cost of living, knowledgeable management, $19 million in cap space with only 7 roster slots to fill and no RFA bills coming due, no young RW prospects he'd be pushing down the lineup, etc.</div></div>
I agree, but Marner isn't going to a "lesser" team without a contract in hand, otherwise Marner will stay a Leaf get good numbers, and then head to free agency.
As Leaf GM (dreaming), I wouldn't care so much about the return , cause the Leafs don't have much leverage. The 11m in cap space is the important thing this year.

Marner to MIN
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>Why do so many Toronto guys try to shoehorn Marner and his $10.9 million cap hit into cap-stressed rosters like Minnesota ($14.75 million dead cap next season) or Los Angeles ($20.9 million to re-sign Quinton Byfield and fill both goalie positions and <strong>eight</strong> other roster slots)? Play pretend-Marner-is-going-somewhere with teams like Utah and Chicago and Nashville and Columbus.</div></div>
Pal, you're making too much sense. Just about all teams don't have the cap for Marner. And the teams with cap, why would Marner waive to go there.
