How do we feel about the first round matchup
Right now both the canes goalies are hurt. If that stays the same way i feel very good about it.
That said i think these two teams are the most underrated teams in the east, and maybe the NHL. I’m pretty confident one of these teams ends up in the ECF.

I’m going by where players actually play in the lineup. Serg and Bogo play the bottoms pair whereas Lindholm McAvoy play top pair.

Simple off-season
A lot more in line with the kind of off-season I expect. Well done.
Lazar, like 4th liners before him, has priced his way out of Boston. McLaughlin likely takes his spot. Zboril is gone. He asked for a trade 2 years ago. He was gifted UFA status. He’s not sticking around.

Craig Smith
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nathan_Horton_18</b></div><div>If he does ask for that long i think Sweeney would say no because he learned his lesson with how Backes turned out</div></div>
I think Backes not working out was predictable.
Let's go back to the 2016 FA class shall we?
Who were the top free agents that year? Loui Eriksson, David Backes, Milan Lucic, Troy Brouwer, Andrew Ladd, Kyle Okposo and Frans Nielsen... what do most of these players have in common? Most of them play a physical style of hockey, especially Okposo, Lucic and Backes.
But around 2015-2017, hockey changed. It went from a defensive, physical minded game to a offensive, fast minded game. I don't know if what provoked that change was the arrival of youngsters like McDavid, Eichel, Matthews, Marner, Laine, Pastrnak and so many others or the Pens winning 2 straight cups with a d-core below average (especially in 2017 without Letang) but hockey truly changed. Maybe it was a combination of both, who knows? So basically, those players signed exactly at the wrong moment. Had they signed 2-3 years before 2016, they would've been fine. But 2016 was too late. Lucic has one great year in EDM then he floped. Nielsen had 2 ok seasons with DET and then flopped. He's a 4C at this point. Eriksson flopped from the moment he stepped on the ice as a Canuck. Ladd never fitted well with NYI. Backes was a good 3rd liner for 2-3 years but he failed at being a good 2nd line checking forward, Okposo was a good 2nd liner for 2 seasons but now he's a 4th liner and Brouwer was bought out after the 2nd year of his contract and now, at best he's a 13th foeward.

Smith would be stellar. The most underrated guy heading into free agency imo. I'm interested to see what he signs for and ready to cry if he signs in Boston.

No, he hasn't.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nathan_Horton_18</b></div><div>Not sure but he can be flipped with someone anyways was just trying to see where smith would slot in this lineup</div></div>
Smith was a guy I was thinking about but wasn't sure if the fit was here (nobody talked about him either) and whatever NSH would move him/Bruins want him. Now that they got Kase, think they will wait and see how he does. IMO it will work out. And one of Studnicka/Kuhlman/Senyshyn takes that 3RW spot.
And that's if Moore's moved that the Bruins get that $$.

Flat Cap - Possible
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nathan_Horton_18</b></div><div>I like the roster but don’t see Hall doing a 1 year i think he just wants to get paid</div></div>
Yeah he probably does, and the bruins probably dont wanna do this anyway.
But in the event the bruins did, im just saying: this could be a win-win-win . Bruins win (cup run baby) , Hall wins (Amazing season, HUGE next contract with the cap increase), and the fans win (Perfection line, Hall Krejci Coyle line which would be one of the most dynamic lines in a LONG time)

Bruins Should look into palms or schwartz
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nathan_Horton_18</b></div><div>If the Bruins didn’t give up a first to get rid of Backes I really think the Bruins would have gotten Palmeri but no way Sweeney gives up 1st rounders in back to back years
Palmeri would be a great fit</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bhavikp27</b></div><div>They've probably already looked for Palmieri. Schwartz is LW, we need an RW.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ON3M4N</b></div><div>Palmieri was the guy they wanted at the TDL, but were unwilling to move a 1st for him. There could still be a deal there, but without giving up a 1st its going to probably cost a player/prospect that'll hurt to lose</div></div>
<a href="/users/Nathan_Horton_18" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@Nathan_Horton_18</a> nailed it too.
In my opinion, they gave up that 1st to move Backes' cap because they feel that they have what they need to win a cup. If they felt they needed palmeri, they woulda either kept Backes or found another way to move him (without using the first)
Idk, its fun to think about and Im gonna do an ACGM in a minute with an interesting idea

Yeah, more D-depth in the system. It'll be one more big year for the "bubble" guys to "show-me" to DS.
If Grz is out, it's why JM could have some sleeper value say if Lauzon-Clif-Vaak-Miller falter/regress.
As of now, I think Lauzon's a player....

Unrealistic CBJ Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nathan_Horton_18</b></div><div>The value is just hard to gauge because it’ll never happen, just a dream post I really like Debrusk and bjork but i love the way Anderson and Dubois play.</div></div>
Fair bro!
Again, if you loved andersons play this year thats an issue, but yeah I really like PLD also and it would be dope to have him. Debrusk, Freddy, and a 2nd is sufficient for the whole trade. Debrusk, Freddy, and a 3rd for PLD alone
