Blockbuster with Pittsburgh Myers to LTIR
It's basically a trade of two first round picks for Guentzel which would be his maximum return anyway.
Seems like a realistic proposa in this post.

Smith hasn't really fit in Pitt and maybe bringing in a Russian might make Malkin happy and play even better. Also by adding Woo we get a young RD which we have none

Byram
I don't think that is the best use of Byram as an asset. I don't want to trade him, but if the Avs did, it has to be for a player with similar term and RFA control (see Frost, Morgan). I DO think that pulling Gourde out of Sea is ideal (even if Sea seems like they dont ever trade anything of value), but the cost is probably shocking. Sticking him between Nuke and Lehcky is an absolute nightmare 2nd line.

I think Petey will re-sign, but if it comes to trading him I'd be happy with that return.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mediumyeet</b></div><div>No disrespect but that is not accurate on Truscott.
Aman just turned 24 a couple weeks ago and is signed to 2 more years at 825k. He is a reliable 4C that has been one of our better penalty killers. He's been in the NHL all year but has been healthy scratched a couple of times. For the most part he's been a regular though. Nothing special but responsible youngish C with some size and decent skating ability.
Truscott is a LHD that plays in Michigan. He's likely nothing special. Turns 22 in April and is 6'1 and just an all around reliable dman. He is the captain at Michigan and prior to this year was paired with Luke Hughes there and Owen Power the year before. His player type is kind of like a Tanev but highly highly unlikely it is at that level ever. Probably a depth or AHL dman.
I would be fine with a mid round pick instead of these guys but figure they might actually be a bit more interesting for Minny that a 4th rounder.</div></div>
Man, I have heard the exact opposite on Truscott! I even looked him up on the CapFriendly scouting reports (https://www.capfriendly.com/scouting-reports/players/jacob-truscott) and they also say he's needing to improve hid defensive responsibility to translate to the NHL.
BUT, I haven't watched him play; I'm basing what I know of the prospect on various podcasts / talking heads regarding VAN and various scouting reports. Based on what you think, I'd be more inclined to keep him and send a mid pick.

Gross overpayment for Duhaime. A 4th round pick and nothingburger prospect would be more than sufficient. A 3rd round pick absolute max.

Tarasenko isn't a good fit in Minny - Maybe a team like Vegas, Boston, Edmonton, Vancouver, etc would acquire him at the Trade Deadline.</div></div>
Lol they literally have Tarasenko going to VGK in this very proposal.

Yeah this is a deal both teams would decline. The only way I’d see the Canucks consider moving Willander is if we get a bonafide top 4 RHD that fits the age of our core. And I don’t see a world where Buffalo would move Tuch

rumour i heard
4th is definitely spot on based on comps - Lazar, Olivier, T Pitlick, Motte, Sundqvist, etc. Hoping there's enough interest to kick that up a round, but I'm not expecting much more than this.
One thing I did wonder about the other day was Jett Woo. If I'm not mistaken, he was a Judd Brackett pick (who is now with MN) and his physicality is on-brand for Guerin. Plus MNs U23 RHD depth beyond Faber is pretty thin.
I suspect they prefer draft capital but the loose connection did cross my mind.

Under the radar pick up
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Cdn_bacon</b></div><div>Who’s moving out then?</div></div>
Not possibly the best one of all of them and not for a late first. Guys pacing upper 20s on goals and assists in their second year in the NHL are rarely moved, and would require an overpay. This ain’t it.

Moving on from Petey
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mediumyeet</b></div><div>I think Necas has 90+pt upside so I would have no issue. Plus Canucks are going to want to stay competitive in the short term which the 1st doesn't do. The expectation of that top 10 pick would probably be a player like Necas in 5 yrs anyways and could easily be worse.</div></div>
Also, could use the Speed & Size that Necas provides. I think the 2nd wouldn't be required, Canes are a cheap team and don't want to pay 7-8M for Necas.

Ok, this is a reasonable deal for Pettersson
Idk that the Sabres would be interested- mostly bc his new Cap hit will be about double what Cozens is getting for us
But if a deal were to happen,
I think both teams could live w something like this

If Pettersson is willing to extend in buffalo Long term I think Buf says yes. I cant imagine him wanting a long term deal somewhere when hes just an arbitration year away from being a UFA

Petey offseason deal
If he wants to go to Buffalo I'd think this gets a long thought process and probably only thing I could see be asked is a conditional pick in 25. (Ie. If Buffalo makes the Cup Final upgraded the pick or get an additional lower round pick) Me personally I'd like to get Wallberg added to the trade but not sure losing both Cozens and Wallberg would be too much.

Frustration between Pettersson and Canucks he might not want to stay
If Petterson decides he wants out of Vancouver, he wont sign on a worse canadian team. He is 100% going to a team in the US with a smaller market/less media. Id say close to 0% chance but who knows.
IF and only if he doesn't want to resign, otherwise pay the man and keep him here lol

Canucks decline. Lekkerimaki is untouchable, but beyond that, no one is giving up their top prospect for a rental unless that rental is named McDavid, Draisaitl, or MacKinnon.
