Another difficult year
I’ve come to the grips that a big move will come in the offseason for a goalie like Demko, unless they go UFA route like varlamov

Paying extra is probably going to be the make-or-break part of the deal, the extra will probably have to be something small for Blake to do it. He might not be willing at all but who knows? The ask would definitely be compared to that of dumping Petersen and acquiring Vejmelka instead.

ENOUGH OF THIS
Crazy to see how high the standards are for championship teams. I turned on the game today and saw the OEL - Myers pairing get scored on twice in ten seconds and just laughed lol

Try a second round pick for Shenn. No cap dump coming back either.

Would Washington do this for Schenn
I would give '23 2nd for playoff run rental. I would not do AA myself. He topped out in the AHL last year and early this year, don't think that league will help him anymore. He has pleasantly surprised me in limited games this year and I hope he is part of their top 6 future. He has good size, makes good decisions (keeps it simple) and when he shoots it is always on net. No thanks. ;)

Gotta think. Saw a thread that suggested Drury and a 2nd for Boeser. I think that isn't too far off at all.

That’s your comeback? Disappointing. I was hoping you’d at least try to justify why Fabbro is worth more than Bear

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mediumyeet</b></div><div>What their like 3rd best RHD prospect, a bottom 6 RFA, a cap dump, and a 2nd? Come on man. It would cost them more than a 2nd just to get rid of that Petersen contract if they tried to move it out.</div></div>
I'm pretty close to ok with it. The only question mark is how high the Kings are on JAD at the moment. Even a month ago, I think this is pretty easy to pull the trigger on, but Anderson-Dolan was pretty fantastic on this last extended road trip.
I'm still inclined to say yes, assuming Demko comes back and passes a physical and gets a few games in without being terrible, but giving up JAD sucks a lot more than it would have last month.

I understand your point. It feels like VAN has made these types of deals for 10yrs, and rarely has cap pace or flexibility.
Yet I would accept this. It’s pretty close to a wash, but adding a centre and getting some new faces is appealing to me.

Bad comparison.</div></div>
It is not a bad comparison. Similar cap hit, similar age. Bear is the better player. He is better offensively, and defensively as represented by his higher Off, and Def, and higher GAR and WAR. Why should Fabbro be worth so much more?

Fabbro doesn't have much value. His closest comparable would be Ethan Bear who the Canucks acquired for a 5th round pick. He just isn't that great

Turning Our Defensive Fortress Into a Black Hole
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>EvanderKanesLawyer</b></div><div>Saros’ contract aligns perfectly with Askarov’s development. Not to mention Saros is a fan favourite here. He wont be moved.</div></div>
I also think that, in many ways, being a frequent bubble team is highly underrated from an ownership's POV, because such teams constantly win enough games for the casual fan to be entertained and to want to fill the stadium. Having as long of a window of making the playoffs as Nashville has is a key factor behind why they do so well in terms of attendance.

Turning Our Defensive Fortress Into a Black Hole
I see a lot of merit in that Boeser deal..... I know a lot of Canucks fans think Drury is second rate or something so you may get flack, but the kids has game. Be an excellent piece to rebuild with.
Landing Saros would be just about any teams wet dream (outside the Big Apple anyway)....... just not sure Askarov is ready quite yet. Preds fans would have a better idea. But me thinks you need to include Morrow in that. Suzuki is what is his, Honda has upside but is still a year or two out. Gunler will peak interest, but I don't think Poile considers anything unless Morrow is in Play....... just my thoughts.

Automatic 60 point PACE winger. Only once in his career hd he scored at less than a 60 point pace and his career points per game is 64 points per 82 games

Johansen's contract is the same length as Boeser's, a little bit higher cap hit but Fabbro shouldn't cost too much to extend.

No I was responding to your last post. That's why I quoted it, in my response. You spoke of what you would and wouldn't trade for Ekholm and Saros, and I argued your post from NSH's perspective.
Yes, your first post in the thread was about trading Petersen at a loss, which was a curious statement, as LA was getting two players of considerable value in the OP's proposal.

I wouldn't trade Clarke for Ekholm, but I would trade Turcotte and the first for Saros. The rest of the package has positive value, if not majorly significant.</div></div>
Turcotte and a 1st isn't going to get you Saros. Walker isn't enough for Ekholm. Lemieux is a UFA - he doesn't have any value to a team doing a deadline sell-off. Petersen has considerable negative value, even if LA fans seem fine with riding/buying out his contract. Without Clarke in the mix, there's nothing here for NSH to keep negotiations going.

You're dumping a $5M goalie who's been relegated to the minors, and you're worried about Ekholm's contract?
Even without Petersen here, if you take Clarke out, NSH doesn't consider trading Saros alone for this package.
