TDL MOVES
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gretzkyghosts</b></div><div>Holl would be perfect with Dahlin.
While I would want more for Miller (who was actually having a career year before he got hurt 11pts in his first 18 games) considering the current situation, this is an acceptable return.
Too many ACGM's over look what is possible for what they dream of having.</div></div>
The only reason why Holl gets ragged on is that he’s not a puck mover. Muzz regressed in terms of his puck movement abilities and he needs a puck mover paired beside him. Miller fits that role for the Leafs and Holl fits what Buffalo needs. Buffalo needs defensively sound d man that can help guys like Dahlin focus more on their offensive game.

I like Walker but he’s gonna miss the whole season. Torn ACL and MCL unfortunately. Hope he recovers soon and gets back to form.

You do realize that if a team can get upgrades they’ll do it. Furthermore I cleared cap for next season.
Hagel is one of the most underrated players in the league and if you have the opportunity to get him you do it.
Plus Muzzin needs someone who can move the puck. That ain’t Holl or Dermott and Liljegren ain’t ready for that kind of minutes as yet. Miller is just a stop gap till Liljegren will be ready next season.

Nah Spezza and Simmonds leadership in needed in the locker room. I wanna see Dzingel with Engvall and Spezza and With Engvall and Simmonds.
Create a healthy rotation as Simmonds and Spezza needs some days off especially with a back to back Monday and Tuesday

Remember there asking price for Eichel was 4 1st rounder. GM says what they wants but Kyle Davidson would be jumping for joy if he got this offer from the Leafs. 2023 1st ( he doesn't own a 1st in 2023), 2 roster player, and a B+ prospect in Hiroven. That's a lot of assets to get back in trade like this.

You do realize 90% of scouts have him as a B+ prospect. The other 10% is B. He’s a good prospect that you’re undervaluing. Look at Adam Fox who was an overager in college putting up ridiculous numbers. It just means their game is more mature and closer to the NHL than others. It’s rare to find 18 yr old who tear up the college scene, hence why they’re top 15 picks majority of the time.

It's reported that a 1st and top prospect is a minimum for the hawks to agree to a trade. Hawks aren't shopping him, so any acquiring team will overpay. Likely Abruzzese, Robertson or Amirov, plus a 1st and maybe something extra.</div></div>
Y’all got Hiroven (a top prospect), Ilya Mikheyev, 2023 1st and a 2022 2nd for Hagel. That a lot we given up as we have a roster player, a top prospect and 2 picks. That’s an overpayment for Hagel.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>cnick19</b></div><div>The Stecher move feels kind of lateral, I'd rather just save the assets and play Holl. Stecher may be better than Holl but is he so much better that he moves the needle?
I like the Hagel trade, Blackhawks would probably accept as well considering their asking price, maybe remove the 2nd and up the prospect quality like Abruzzese, Mikheyev, a 1st and a 3rd.</div></div>
I kinda don’t want to trade Abruzzese as he’s a year away from the league. Why trade him when he’s almost NHL ready.
As for Stecher he provides more puck mobility for Muzzin as he needs that. Holl can’t move the puck and teams are abusing Holl inability to move the puck

Playing younger players without experience veterans is what cause players not to develop. You need a mixture of both to be successful. I’m not tryna say you need Holl we have other assets (prospects) like Mikko Kokonen who we can change out for the trade as we would have enough accrued cap space to take on Colin Miller prorated cap at the deadline plus keep Holl.

So if an injury happens at LW your playing Mikheyev, And Negvall higher in the line up…
Our actual minors depth was exposed last year in the playoffs. The second Tavares went down we had no answer. Getting Hagel who can play top 6 mins or play a shutdown role would be an excellent addition.

Im a Leafs fan and I’ll say this. Don’t trade any of our forward prospects as we will need them. Our defence is pretty much set as we have 5 dman with term or we own rights to that are impact players in the NHL already. With that being said Niemela we are probably gonna sell high on at the deadline.
Niemela is at least 3 years away from being in the league, and it better to sell high on him as from what I’ve seen from him he’s gonna be a number 3 dman at best or Dermott at worse.
Now you trade a 2023 1st, Mikheyev and Neimela and get Hagel it’s a win for everyone.

Unpopular take Niemela should be the one traded. His value is at the absolute highest it will be. Cash in rn because unfortunately he won’t be a top pairing dman. Probably a 3 at best and dman take longer to develop.
I’d personally do Niemela, Mikheyev and 2023 1st for Hagel

It’s multiple players like the grabner deal in 2016. A team takes on multiple no value players for one player. It’s a way to save dollars on internally.

Ok ima personally let you in on this. Niemela is great but he also is going to take the longest out of every top prospect we have. Amirov is max 2 years away maybe we can see him next year, Knies is 1 yr away and Robertson is a lock to make the team next year. Niemela has the lowest floor out of all of these prospect and will take the longest. Even with his production he’s 3 years away and will top out as a 3-4 dman. He isn’t a top 2 dman imo

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>these Mayfield proposals from TML fans keep getting more and more convoluted, with Nick Ritchie now showing up and the picks somehow getting worse as we get closer to the deadline?
if Mayfield moves, it's straight up for a 1st, or for a 2/3 & a solid prospect. if you don't like the price, don't trade for him! the islanders are going to try and contend next year and a right-shot dman who can slide up to top pair and hold their own for $1.45M is too valuable an asset to flip out for Nick Ritchie, a 2nd&3rd, and your 8th defenseman. the value doesn't line up and it never will. stop trying to trade for mayfield.</div></div>
Dermott brings something the Isles lack. Puck movement on the left side on the back end. On top of that he’s 25. The reason he’s our 7th dman is that He’s passed on the depth charts by Sandin, Muzzin and Riley.
Also Nick Ritchie play the exact style Trotz wants in NYI. Again good player just doesn’t fit the Toronto system which is speed based and would fit better in NYI which is more dump and chase based.
Furthermore Mayfield is passed on the depth charts by Dobson and when Pulock comes back he’ll be a bottom pairing dman.
