If Nylander wants out
This is terrible for us.
Rees won't even crack our lineup, Martinook is a 4th liner, Teuvo had a down year last year and that first is going to be in the 28-32 range. You're essentially handing them Nylander

I HATE MY FANBASE
Why so emotional? I never understood why people get upset with fun trade ideas that others post on this site. This site is meant for that… exploring fantasy trades. The only reason why Brodie and Nylander are always a part of fantasy trades is bc trading them frees up cap to get a decent player back or make multiple other trades to make things fun. Instead of a lacklustre Lafferty trade.

It's a decent starting offer, to get the conversation going.
But it's not enough.

STL Blues 2023 TDL
-Probably a little pricey for ROR, but I can see it - I think for a retooling team like St. Louis it would make more sense to take a young roster player/close to ready prospect & a 2nd for ROR instead, though.
-Islanders just paid #13OA for Romanov last summer and don't have anyone fully ready to step up to LD2 if they move him; there's also the fact that the Islanders are on the playoff bubble and shouldn't be paying crazy rental prices this season.
-Feels weird to be moving Kyrou when he's PPG and his big extension hasn't even kicked in yet, but I think it's a moot point because Ottawa passes. They're already tight to the cap trying to figure out how to extend DeBrincat, it's going to be muuuuuch worse adding $11.5M to next year's cap. I think they love the value, though - just not enough to basically push Cat out of town.
-Probably about what Mikkola gets, maybe whoever trades for him throws in a depth prospect too. Brett Kulak trade is what I have in mind as a comp for Mikkola.
-Krug probably blocks it - dude has a full NTC through 2025 so he's controlling where he goes. I think you're gonna be stuck with him, or you're going to be trading him for another problem contract - but that's the best you can really hope for.

2023 TDL Mostly Tweaks and Depth
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dominot</b></div><div>Chicago trade seems fair. Might need to add a late round pick for the retention.
Nashville easily rejects. Jeannot's contract is highly valuable and he's a player that's hard to find these days.
It'll be an overpay to acquire him.
That's an overpay for Acciari. 3rd and 5th is fine for a 3rd/4th line C. No need to add Hirvonen.
If that's the case, I'd go after Barbashev instead who is a better fit to fill the Leafs' glaring hole at LW.
Anaheim trade doesn't help either team. Leafs have enough capable defensemen right now.</div></div>
Jeannot deal is more of a pipe dream, I know it is unlikely that NSH has any desire to part with him for actual value. If Roberston was healthy (it happens on occassion) I would have included him.
I have a feeling Acciari will draw more interest from more teams at the deadline since he is affordable for most cap-tight contenders which may drive up his price. Happy to remove Hirvonen, but need to move a contract out since we're at 50 with a signed Knies - suggestions? Personally, I'm not sold on Barbashev, he'd cost more and hasn't had a great season this year if I recall correctly. I feel Domi fills that LW hole better, at least in the short term and helps with that lacking NHL top-6 C depth for the Leafs after 34 and 91.
There's never "enough" capable D if there's a long playoff run. But the depth D deals are just examples, there will likely be other similar options out there as well.

Thoughts before deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dominot</b></div><div>I think this is pretty reasonable. Just switch Amirov for another prospect.
Bennett = Kerfoot, 1st, 2nd.
That's a reasonable price for a middle-six C.
Maybe add a B/C prospect to sweeten it.
Gudas = 3rd.
That seems pretty fair for a 3rd line D.
This isn't as far-fetched as you might've initially thought.</div></div>
You dont have good prospects though. The panthers are in win now mode yes they’re having a down year but couldn’t do much due to dead cap space. But they have plenty of cap next year to fix the team. I’m sure they are just fine waiting it out and keeping the team together unless it’s an overpay. This is not that. Gudas will get a second and a middling prospect cause overpay for d man always happen at the deadline ie fla last year. And bennett is worth way more than a third line ufa center a, b prospect and a very late first.

Is it worth going for ROR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dominot</b></div><div>Lol, well you know what they say, "Go big or go home"
Yeah having one of those guys would make a deadly C depth.
I just don't know if Toronto has assets to beat out offers from other contending teams because both are top targets at the deadline.
Still Barbashev would be a decent upgrade to their forward group and helps check the boxes.
I'm just thinking he could make an impact similar to what Lehkonen did for COL and Nick Paul for TBL.
Both guys weren't the cream of the crop for deadline targets, but were key guys that helped address respective roster needs as evidenced by their playoffs runs last year.</div></div>
TO has the assets. They have several good prospects and enough picks to make it happen. Plus no bad contracts they would have to dump to make room.

Dude he is 6’4 RhD who is good on the PK & can give you 18+ minutes a night,A 6th is not an overpay, If anything its an underpay with how Gudbranson & Chiarot got signed to 4+x4’s & Holl is comparable at half the price with 0 retention, people just listen to the idiots that say “TrADe HoLl when he’s the Leafs leading Shot Blocker & Top PKers

I see so many Anaheim fans getting angry with giving up picks for the leafs “cap dumps” cause why would they help the leafs be cap complaint but Anaheim isn’t even cap compliant lol Anaheim is 8 million below the cap floor with 1 rfa to sign, who left in free agency would make up that cap? I Doubt klingberg is signing with Anaheim.

Zucker to TOR Idea
Not bad ideas, I would disagree with previous poster that Zucker is a top 6 forward, a 40+ pt guy and at 2.75mil probably the cheapest TOR would get.
I like Engvall, but hes no top 6 forward and as a RFA with rights coming off a career year, he'll probably get 2mil (or slightly more if he goes to arbitration). I think TOR fans forget how average as a bottom 6 guy Engvall has been and that hes 27 yrs old.
If the difference is 2 yrs in age and 750k between the two players, Zucker is the better player.
Not sure if Holl, engvall's rights, a 3rd and a 4th is too much though. Take out Holl and thats a real good deal for TOR.
I think PHI jumps at that trade, and its not just about moving JVR's last yr, its about Soucy fitting in on their defense
