<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HeadHighSauce</b></div><div>absolutely. and I certainly don't want to be carrying Josh Anderson.
Playoff counting stats for Tatar:
TOI: 590 || Points: 12 || Shots: 65
Playoff counting stats for Anderson:
TOI: 652 || Points: 14 || Shots: 128
So Anderson isn't helping his team on the scoresheet anymore than Tatar.
How about on-ice results relative to their teammates:
Tatar -- RelTM G+-/60: 0.14 || RelTM C+-/60: 12.58 || RelTM xG+-/60: 0.2
Anderson -- RelTM G+-/60: -0.05 || RelTM C+-/60: -6.46 || RelTM xG+-/60: -0.36
So Anderson is a below average player relative to his teammates and Tatar isnt.
One more: Career playoff PDO
Tatar: 0.988
Anderson: 1.008
I'll take Tatar literally every single time.
I'm very excited for people to read this, have their eyes glaze over, and tell me "BUT TATAR WAS SCRATCHED" and "ANDERSON BRINGS A PHYSICAL ELEMENT YOU NEED IN THE PLAYOFFS". sigh.</div></div>
Why did both those teams scratched him if he is that good? Why would MTL scratch him over Jake Evans? Why not scratch Anderson instead?
Analytics are made so soft skilled players look good. They don't take the physical aspect of the game into consideration.
But everyone knows you don't need physical players in the playoffs because the games are softer. Right?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HockeyIsMyPassion61</b></div><div>Just because one insane GM is willing to give up a 1st for Josh Anderson, Doesn't mean that his value is worth a 1st not by a long shot.</div></div>
But why would he give a 1st if the next best offer is a 3rd?
Because a few other GMs offered something close to a 1st, so he had to offer a 1st to get Anderson.
They all stupid?

Friedman also said many team looking for a winger are interested in Anderson.
Lebrun said the same thing, and even said MTL turned down many offers.

I don’t think you’ll get a 1st for Anderson. People are complaining but he should finish season around 20 goals.
Also don’t forget Logan Mailloux, I’ve watched him play five times this year and he’s a very good dman.

Edit - Removed that trade

this team blows
Losing Huberdeau, Marchment and Weegar is surely going to hurt.
Duclair is going to miss most of the season, With a torn achilles.
Hornqvist will probably be dealt, Florida needs to shed some $3.3 mill in cap space.
That LD is surely going to be caved in on most nights.

Yeah good luck believing that Nazar is there at 16th, Detroit takes him at 8th unless Matthew Savoie falls. And even then he's still not falling to 16 oa.

Lafrenière has 40p in his first 115 games... thats >30 /82gp average. idk if i would call him untouchable / not available I CERTAINLY wouldnt trade Wright for him. Lafrenière isnt a bust... yet but hes far far far from what he was suppose to be... looks more like a middle 6 winger than an elite winger top line guy

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Chrismurtagh</b></div><div>I know Theodore is worth way more. I just think if Vegas has the choice to either give up Dadonov and a second for nothing in return, Martinez and a second for nothing, or Theodore for a player and a pick, they may end up choosing to get rid of Theodore. If cap wasn't an issue it would take a tremendous price to get Theodore.</div></div>
There are teams who would trade for Martinez right now. Dadanov might need a sweetener simply to ensure no cap is coming back but my goodness, a 2nd round pick is wayyyy less hard to swallow than trading Theodore away just so you can get some value back.
Dadanov and a 2nd is not a big loss. Heck some teams may even send back a super cheap bottom 6 player to help fill the spot.

Imagine at the 2020 deadline the Habs traded Gallagher, Tatar, Danault, and Petry each for a Jason Zucker-like return? They'd be in a much different position than they are now.

I could see a scenario where the sabres take Petry but not if Tuch is involved. He's one of the few guys who loves being a sabre there's no way they're getting rid of him.

Betting he gets some time on it as a reward for his play in other areas. Switch in and out with Barrie just like hyman and jp swap out net front. When everyone is healthy id still say Barrie is more likely to be the quarterback.

habs deadline could look like this
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xqb15a</b></div><div>You’re kidding yourself. Coleman and Pageau have multiple 20 goal seasons, Pageau 40 pts seasons. But hey leave it to MTL fans to take a piece of reporting by a reporter to hyper inflate their players value. And I’ll even give you credit, Goodrow isn’t better offensively I was influenced by his play with SJS against COL.</div></div>
LOL even with the 2 20 goal seasons that Coleman had he still doesn't put up much more offense than Lehkonen. I showed you above that over their careers they are within 0.05ppg which translates to 4 more points a season for Coleman over Lehkonen. Every player has up and down years, hence the reason we use career stats to compare players and PPG to compare value. We aren't comparing Lehkonen to Matthews here. You may have issue with Lehkonen cause you hate the Habs or whatever but the fact remains their career stats are directly comparable. BTW Pageau did not have multiple 20+ goal seasons he had a single 20 goal season. If you really want to get into the stats and use outlier stats to prove your point, I can flip that around and say that Lehkonen is more consistent than Pageau and Coleman in that his stats don't vary as much from year to year. Saying a guy like Pageau is more offensive based on 2 40 point seasons in an 11 year career is laughable those 2 seasons are outliers not the norm. Same as Coleman 2 out of 6 seasons he scored 20 goals again these seem to be the outlier not the norm, although with Coleman he is still young enough to make it the norm depending on how the rest of his career goes.

Habs fans youll like this
1st trade - Montreal rejects. I feel like they could get Kravtsov for Lehkonen straight up. NYR aren't in a position of power here IMO. Kravtsov has made is publically clear he won't play in NYR (he went back to KHL because he doesn't want to play there). Lehkonen is an RFA so Montreal doesn't have to trade him. I think Montreal would consider Kravtsov + 2nd for Chiarot if that interests you. I think Kravtsov at this point is worth a 2nd IMO, so that would mean 2 2nds for Chiarot which is fair.
2nd Trade - I don't think Anaheim would have interest in this trade, and Montreal would be crazy not to accept it.
3rd Trade - Montreal rejects. Petry is worth more at this point to be a leader than that terrible package. Any trade with Petry starts with a 1st, otherwise we keep him.
4th Trade - I'm not sure why we are dumping Hoffman. He's a player who will thrive in an offensive system (like Hughes wants). It's not his fault he's a pure offensive player playing in a pure defensive system.
5th Trade - Fair value for Toffoli, I don't think Montreal wants to trade him though
6th Trade - At this point, I would probably do this deal, although I don't think Montreal should be dumping salary at this moment.

My sentiments exactly, I said from the moment the OS was tendered that the Habs should match. Not just because of his upside but also because we just let Danault walk, letting 2 top 6 forwards walk in one offseason and only replacing one with Dvorak was always going to be a recipe for disaster. I also love watching KK score, even though he is no longer a Hab he is still my favorite player right now.

I wonder if a mostly stagnant cap changes that at all.
