He knew he had to step up. Are the leafs supposed to just ignore the fact that their CAPTAIN IS GONE after sustaining a horrific injury. Cant believe this community sometimes.

Steady, mean, and I figured he'd go in the 2nd round as opposed to the 3rd. I suspect he finishes out his Liiga deal and heads over to Grand Rapids to close out next season.

How can u justify giving Hyman more money than

Hyman is better than Iafallo and Arvidsson.
As for Toffoli, he signed for way lower than he should have. He's an outlier.

In truth its weird
Against serious north division rivals who they will most likely meet in the playoffs leafs would put 110% into almost all of their games
Against teams not going to the playoffs leafs some games played very sloppy or disinterested or were just let down by their goaltenders
which is both good and bad lul as if we look at their records
Against the 3 other playoffs teams in the north leafs are
W=19
L=6
OTL=3
while against lottery teams
W=16
L=7
OTL=4
either way it shows they prefer going up against strong teams which is good for their chances of a longer playoff run

Leafs Still Don't Seem Built For Playoffs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Penguins_Legend_Sheary</b></div><div>Having watched the first few playoff games this season, I have decided that the Leafs just aren’t capable of playing at the level of legit contenders.
While they do have a tremendous amount of talent & physicality, I just don’t know if they can play with the same level of speed & intensity as the top teams outside the division. For example, other teams move the puck quickly & are always driving to the net. It feels the Leafs system operates at a slower pace & they emphasize on passing the puck along the perimeter & shooting from distance. There just isn't enough movement or creativity. Plus it feels like they don’t play for each other, like they don’t play with a lot of emotion & just let the opposition push them around. I have a feeling that they’re going to get worn out very quickly.</div></div>
I think we need to wait until they actually play a playoff game this year.

Leafs Still Don't Seem Built For Playoffs
Hard to say they aren't built for playoffs when they haven't played a game yet. I've seen nothing but arguments of how weak the North Division was this year. Yet apparently Vegas and Colorado had it tough with 3 teams not reaching the 50 point mark? Carolina, Florida, and TB had it tough with 2 teams not making the 50 point mark? The East had it tough with Buffalo, Philly, and NJ in their division? I have found every argument extremely weak. Fact is there is no true test until playoffs start. Not often does the presidents trophy winner take the cup. Leafs will be fine. This is the most well rounded team they've iced since 93.

Totally this. It's only about winning rounds at this point. How it happens, who plays, who doesn't, matters not.
People can say that this is a very cold way of looking at these playoffs from a Leafs perspective but they got to start showing some results here.

How is Holl overpaid? Also he's been top 4 all year.

🙁uh
This creates other issues and is disappointing
- Sandin and Lijegren are ready and looking good
- so many of the acquired guys are aging, overrated
- fleury was sheltered by vgk this year and is very old
- can't we all agree Engvall > Turris right now? 😐
- package the assets traded here for better players
Kris Russell isn't even good enough to warrant a -
I really like the Subban energy there but gosh

Campbell will play game 1 and 2. If he does not do well either of those games Freddie is gonna play game 3
If Campbell gets hurt Freddie plays, if Freddie gets hurt than its Rittich followed by Hutch and so on
so rn
1. Campbell
2. Freddie
3. Rittich
4. Hutch

idk man, put your best players with your best players and role with it
when they were together, hyman-matthews-marner was literally a top 3 line in the NHL, unstoppable with no weak link. line 2 is an excellent skill/workhorse line, line 3 is a checking line, and that old man line has been great whenever they've been deployed

matthews/marner have been at their most dominant with zach hyman
for a while, hyman was the team's second highest scorer, he's literally one of our best players, don't reduce him to a checking role when you have less skilled guys like kerfoot/mikheyev/foligno etc. to do that
