Luke Henman a signé un contrat de 3 ans d'une valeur de 2 375 000 $ avec les Kraken de Seattle, le 13 mai 2021. Le contrat comporte un cap hit de 791 667 $.
I still can't believe CAR let Henman walk. He's a great lottery ticket for SEA and has a much better chance to make the NHL than Reid Duke did.
They're an extremely deep farm, particularly at forward. COVID played a role, as well. There were a lot of players that would usually sign with their drafted teams that didn't because of the bad economic environment and lack of ice time opportunities due to the shutdown. Regardless, it worked out for Luke, so good for him.
Great for Seattle and Luke. Hard to believe Carolina let his rights go on this kid. Not going to be in the NHL rightaway but has potential for down the road depending on how he develops. Love that he is the first player signing for the Kraken.

You have to account for the fact that his player rights expired during peak COVID and that the Canes had a center depth chart of Suzuki, Drury, Geekie, Rees, Ponomaryov, Lorentz, and Cotton, on top of gobs of winger prospects. That played a role here.
