<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>YeahRighttt</b></div><div>You want Raddysh, he will likely be available in free agency. Hawks are not paying for Reilly. The question is: how much would they need to get paid to take him.</div></div>
I get it. But, imagine what a hard working 2-way 40 point rental retained even further at a $1.25M cap hit could fetch at next years deadline. I'm not necessarily saying CHI shouldn't be asking for that 4th to be going the other way, but man... if he were to have a decent and healthy season in CHI, that could possibly mean more valuable assets for the rebuild. I don't hate it.
BUT, I also don't get what exactly is in it for PIT if they aren't moving the full cap hit. They are gonna need every bit of cap space they can get, if they want to make REAL additions and ice a contender next year. If not, what is the point of moving anyone? This might just be my opinion, but PIT is either trying to contend or they aren't, they'll need to pick a lane and go all in. Otherwise they are just doing things for the optics and PR.

Rockford Icehogs next season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Maple</b></div><div>I could see Roos head back to Sweden next year. He was fairly good in the 17 games he featured in with Chicago last season, but he's been stuck in RFD and he doesn't really have much of a pathway up to the Hawks at this point. I wouldn't mind bringing him back since I've seen him play his off side alongside the likes of Allan & Phillips and that itself it useful, but he'll probably want a lot more $ to play in the minors.
Scott Powers in one of his recent articles says the Hawks likely won't sign Basse unless some drastic happens.
I think Dominic James heads back to uni since he only played two games this season after a major shoulder injury. Unless Rockford can give him ample ice time in their top 9, I'm fine with him going back to Minnesota for a senior year.
With Marcel Marcel idk if getting reps with Indy next season or just sending back to the Czech Republic would be better for his development. Either way his ceiling is probably a 13F anyways.
But yeah Rockford on paper looks really good, and Anders Sorensen is a solid coach. Now its just improving from being good to being great.</div></div>
Well, as I said in the description, I don't expect all of these contracts to be signed or all of these players to be in Rockford next year. And I also guarantee some of the veteran AHLers will be back next season on AHL/ECHL contracts.
Also, I really don't care what Powers says. I like the guy, but most of what he does is speculative, and most of his speculation is pretty bad. Half the time it seems like he doesn't even watch the kids play, like he is just parroting other writers and scouts. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't sign Basse, but I don't see why they wouldn't sign him, either. He is only required a one year deal. Let him and Stauber battle for the spot behind Commesso, and stash the other in Indy. It's not like they couldn't afford to see what they got. They have the roster space if you include the ECHL.
I'm pretty sure Wall Maz (Chicago Prospects on Twitter) and Tiribassi watch more prospects than Powers does.

I honestly don't think Chicago would consider any Bedard trades whatsoever. He's already made such a huge impact on the city and when they finally start winning some games that impact will get even bigger. My son plays mite hockey in the Chicago suburbs and almost every single kid on the ice has a Bedard jersey. They lucked into a grand slam home run with this kid. They're not giving him up unless he forces his way out

Rinzel
I concur with exo... He's really the only high-end RHD in our system, so we'll want to see how he works out.
Gotta say, though, I recently saw him in a few college games in the latter part of the season, and he surprised me. I kept hearing that he was "raw;" "years away;" "needs to learn his position;" etc, etc, etc... Yet what I saw was a big, fast, composed, and confident D - IN HIS OWN END. He made mostly good decisions, even when stressed or pressed by multiple attackers in space or on the boards.
At the offensive end is when he seemed not to know what to do as much - especially when carrying in the puck. He seems to WANT to carry the pick in, but isn't sure how that works - yet.
So, my guess is that you'll have him in Gopherland - for at least another year. When he turns pro, too, he'll likely then also benefit from a year or two in the AHL before coming into the big league.
As a low 1st round pick, the Hawks gambled a bit on his raw potential. They knew he was going to take time to grow his game. Yet it increasingly seems as though the gamble may be VERY worth the risk in the long run.
Enjoy watching him with the Gophers! Cheers

Blackhawks 2025-26 AGM Post 2024-25 and Into 2025-26
I'm sorry, but McKinney won't be anywhere near the top of the draft and CHI is still going to be one of the worst teams in the NHL next season. CHI should have a decent shot at picking one of Hagens, Martone, Misa, McQueen, Spence, Hensler, or Ryabkin, with their own 1st round pick in 2025.
I think picking Levshunov this year will, at the very least, leave a lot of value on the table, at the worst, it could look absolutely awful in hindsight. Demidov, Lindstrom, and Catton should be way ahead of him. Sure, CHI needs more RD depth, but depth and top of the lineup are different things. I have watched a ton of Levshunov this year, I was dead set on picking him at the beginning of the season, at certain points I was even convinced he could possibly go over Celebrini, but as time went on I started seeing some patterns in his play and usage that were less than impressive and worrying. I still like him quite a bit, but I don't think he is a top 5 player in the 2024 draft, and I think there is a lot of copycatting going on with the public scouts.
Also, even though Rinzel was drafted two years before Levshunov, they are pretty close in age, at essentially the same point in their development, and Rinzel is by far the better and more well rounded defensemen, imho. I know he is supposed to be a project, but I still think he makes an NHL squad before Levshunov does.
SEA isn't giving up Rehkopf for Hall. Rehkopf could be the biggest steal of the 2023 draft. But I would LOVE if we could get our hands on him. Marchand will be a Bruin for life. 6 months ago you probably could've got Frost for cheaper than this proposal, but now I doubt you will see anyone agreeing with it. CHI isn't signing any LHD anytime soon, other than a number 5-7 like Megna or Tinordi again. Especially not a big ticket guy like Slavin. That would burry their very good pile of LHD prospects in the depth chart for no reason.
All in all, I am impressed with and appreciate your in depth vision of the Future-Hawks.

I do think if the Flyers trade Frost they'll aim for a younger guy than Raddysh for the rebuild. Maybe someone in the same age range of 23-24. I don't know enough about the Hawks' pool to make guesses on who could replace him though.

Hawks likely won't trade Johnson with retention for less than a 3rd. If the Hawks can't get better than a 4th and a 5th for their own players, they'll just keep their players and use their last two retention slots as a 3rd party retention partner. Same returns pick wise without disrupting anyone's life.

1st overall
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JeffGorton</b></div><div>The cost of getting 1st overall isnt gonna cost a former 1st overall and 2 top 10 picks. And theres many reason for them not to pair them together. First one would be, they gain 4 assets instead of 1. They could get Catton at 7th, Mews with the WPP and then get another top 10 player next year. Hawks dont have much depth in terms of prospects. Nazar, Reichel , Moore are decent but nothing special. Theyve got no one on defence aside from Korchinski. They need to round out their roster. Having 2 superstars makes it very hard to do that.</div></div>
Ummm, let me introduce you to a guy named Vlasic. As a rookie, he is ranked in the top 5 defenders (not offensive d stats) in the league right now, playing first line minutes against the toughest assignments. Look up Sam Rinzel, another D prospect who is looking extremely good. Also calling Nazar, Moore and Reichel "nothing special" or "decent" prospects is a mischaracterization. Those 3 are considered very good prospects; not elite but very good prospects.
Chicago isn't going to pass on Celebrini if they win the lottery as this AGM suggests for a #7 pick, late 1st, and unknown 1sts next season that could be mid firsts. As you suggest with your comment on Nazar, Moore and Riechel all of which were middle 1st selections...they are "nothing special" so those mid or late 1sts are nothing special. Celebrini is indeed special. Chicago would need to see at least a couple chances to get someone special if giving up Celebrini such as a top 5 pick and top 10 pick guaranteed.

What If Jenner Waived M-NTC

In what universe is Laughton better? They're similar players but Jenner is Laughton if Laughton was better at everything he does.
Jenner 37 GP, 16-5-21, -8, 694 GP Career 186-164-350, -67, 50.9% xGF% (+7.5% relative), 53% Corsi%, 55% FO%, 80 Hits
Laugthon 54 GP, 7-16-23, -6; 573 GP Career 89-133-222, -22, 41.1% xGF% (-12.5% relative), 44% Corsi%, 48.9 FO%, 98 Hits
I mean, moot point discussing relative values because Jenner doesn't get moved, but it's still absurd. If Cowan is on the table, I think the Leafs can keep Niemela for sure.

I don't know how much I care for Petan, but Salomaki to Toronto makes sense to me. They need a little bit of a spark plug - a guy that skates hard, throws the body, and will go to the dirty areas. Salomaki is not a game changer, but you know what you're going to get - and that's it. And he is cheap, so could fit within their cap too.

It doesn't shed anything - all the players are UFA's next summer. Ceci isn't worth two 2nds, especially since he doesn't address Edmonton's biggest weakness - wingers. RHD is fine: Bear is a revelation playing 1RD, Persson is doing well at 2RD and Benning is one of the best 3RD's in the league. And Adam Larsson will be back in a month.

Hawks Trade Mid Tier Assets to Re-Tool and Build Future
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>I don't think it's wise to expect Nylander's mediocre stats to continue on the Hawks. He plays with elite talent in their prime. And whether we like it or not...he's not replacing Kane/Toews/Debrincat on the PP AND as crazy as this sounds...and I know it does...he's not a top 6 player on this team. He's not replacing Kane. He's not replacing Debrincat. We could Try him on the #1LW opposite Kane, but we can't have (2) cupcakes on the 1st line. That's why Drake plays up there. Nylander's got speed. He's got vision. He lacks physically / defense. He's not a 2-way player.</div></div>
I think you are getting too emotional about Nylander. He is a terrific player that you would love watching. He isn't half as soft as people say he is, and he actually is in fact pretty good defensively. He hasn't been anything but great for TO all season. Often the best or one of the best players on the ice for TO this season. The points haven't come yet but they will. He's just too talented to not pile up the points with the amount of chances he creates. I think currently he's 7th in the league in creating offensive chances at 5v5. He's also see the ice heavily tilted in his direction when he's been on the ice, no matter who he plays with. I think you don't watch him and haven't really watched him but you read some stuff on here and think you know the player. You don't or just don't want to know, because it hurts your arguements but whatever the case, Nylander is not at all the player you think he is. Also, TO doesn't want anything from Chicago, at least nothing Chicago should want to part with. You have some good young up and coming RHD that I am sure Dubas would be interested in, but as I mentioned Chicago shouldn't want to be parting with those so there isn't really any trades here. Gus isn't what TO needs, they have too many better options than him (Rielly, Muzzin, Dermott, Sandin all shoot left and I don't think Gus is going to move the needle any more than Dermott or Sandin do defensively) and with Barrie on the team as well, there is no PP space for a guy who's almost entire worth is piling up PP points.
Chicago fans should just stop trading for Nylander and Kapanen.
