<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LoganOllivier</b></div><div>By what metric? He has been scored on a lot more than Zaitsev, they are both negative possession wise and neither do well at suppressing shots. I keep looking for something that gives Larsson the edge but from what I can find, they are pretty much the same.

Don't get me wrong, I think they both are decent players but there is almost no discernible difference between them. I am not sure you can find two players more similar and yet Edmonton can trade him and get a return while the Leafs have to send assets to teams to take Zaitsev. Both teams are in a difficult cap situation, although very different scenarios. TO has too many good players that need to be paid and some will have to be moved while Edmonton has little space and several bad contracts that hamper them.

I just don't get why Larsson gets so much love while Zaitsev gets nothing but hate.</div></div>

I actually don't mind Zaitsev and think he has more value than a lot of people think he has. The reality is that the leafs won't get much because all the teams know they need to move salary. But getting back to Larsson vs Zaitsev: Larsson hits more, blocks more, clears the front of the net, he has more take aways(although he gives the puck up as much as Zaitsev as well). Larsson also has more NHL experience and everyone knows what he is. Zaitsev seems to be a wild card even now, he seems to be getting worse every year. Maybe a change of scenery would be good for Zaitsev.
