Description

New Jersey knows that Hall isn't re-signing with them next year so this is a way that they can make sure they get an optimal return. The leafs would be giving up A LOT but they get a really good player in return, as well as cap relief for this year. We have to accept the fact that Marner might just want more than we can actually afford, and no one is going to offer sheet him.

Please note this is very much a hypothetical and crazy scenario. This will not happen nor am I 100% sure i'd even want this to happen, i just thought i'd experiment with the idea.

It's not really that risky, he's going to get you points no matter how you look at it, odds are he would see just as much time on LTIR as healthy though.

I mean it probably is a good move for both teams, but apparently MM away from JT is no wonder boy base don what I have seen.
Hall on the other hand dragged the team across the playoff line himself on his good season.
Those MM fans will say it needs to include Smith or Boqvist or anything else is overkill

you want to give a guy 11 million dollars for a guy you think will be hurt as much as he is healthy?????? thats crazy. it jjust reminds me of the parise signing and that really hasn't worked out for minny

Hall puts up way more points than parise. When hall is healthy he is one of the top left wings in the game, he is one of the only wingers that can drive play. i'm pretty sure the team doesn't pay most of the money on LTIR thats covered in a different way so why wouldn't you pay him 11 mil. Thats the same as every contract, any player can get hurt at any time, thats why they make so much money.

parise was similar to hall as in he had an amazing year hit ufa cleaned up and went back to being good not elite. if you really think hall is going to spend that much time out of the line up then he isn't worth tying up that much money. he had 1 amazing year so id be careful
