What would it cost
If the Wild trade Rossi, it won’t be for a pick. It would be for a different young forward with more size who can help the Wild now.

I was thinking about something like this as well. Problem is, Minny has minimal cap space. The Leafs would either have to retain a sizeable ammount or take on a sizeable contract.

overall value is not an issue, the sens arent setting their timeline back again by trading tkachuk. If hes moved its for an instant contributor with upside in a role we dont have filled

Minnesota Maple Leafs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>iAce</b></div><div>What is an acceptable return for Chesley? I don't even know, looking at the numbers he doesn't seem like a lock to be a stud in the NHL or anything. We just have no depth and I wanted to move JoJo. I understand the return might not be what you are looking for but the same thing that can be said about a lot of the prospects and making the NHL. You can pick between Lambos, Hunt, Peart and O'Rourke. We need to move 1 or 2 of them for help on the right side. They are all in the same spot developmentally so you can choose. I think Lambos has a higher ceiling and Hunt is closest to playing minutes</div></div>
Numbers don’t describe Chesley’s game. He’s a defense-first defenseman who also contributes auxiliary offense.
I think now he’s worth a late 1st.

I can, but first off…your offer isn’t close! Johansson is completely washed up and O’rourke might never play with n the NHL!
I see Chesley developing into a league-average to very good 2nd pairing RHD. He’s a very good skater, has a very heavy shot, moves the puck fairly well, has piss and vinegar in his game, is as strong as an ox, and probably has more offensive upside than most people think. He would be the perfect #2 to Faber’s #1. Those two manning the right side of the blueline for the next decade+ would be terrific!

2024 Mock Draft with Surprises and Analysis
A couple thoughts on #2: Where did you get the idea that the Hawks stay away from Russians? I've never heard this before, and history shows that is definitely not true. Also, Levshunov is Belarusian, which is certainly no less problematic than being Russian. It's just Russian with twist.
I also find it extremely hard to believe Ottawa and especially Buffalo draft LDs.

I like Marner, and if Trotz can't figure out the money for Saros then I wouldn't be opposed to it, but I'd rather trade Saros for a center.

Askarov isn’t ready. We’ve seen what happens when you rush goalie prospects. He needs to be eased into the role. His timeline aligns with Saros’s contract.
We could use more scoring, certainly. But the RW is our most full position prospect wise. ROR isn’t a long term option and Novak is, what, a 40+ point guy? Our biggest hole is down the middle and I’d rather use Saros to help that. Either that, or getting stronger on our RD.

who to keep based on playoff performances
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Logicalicesports</b></div><div>I don't believe the Caps really have a spot on the Roster for Ilya.
I wouldn't be opposed to this deal but where would he slot in?
Left side: Ovi, Miro, Milano, Maly
Right side: Wilson, Protas, Oshie and the single open roster spot that might go to Sgarbs
I mean I can see them maybe moving Milano but most likely not, and maybe the 4th line winger position is open but Ilya doesn't fit there</div></div>
I'd think VAN will have to pay more to get rid of llya's contract
TVR probably gets a 3rd on his own

I agree with this. I think Nashville and Vegas should be the two targets.
Everyone can say he won’t waive but if the leafs stop babying him and tell him there is no extension being offered, we want to move on, we can do that now or next summer, why would he want to stay? If he has to find a new team anyways I assume he will want to get an extension this summer. Marner needs his money over anything else.

Please make these realistic if u say "offseason". no team in this league will go shop for all these stars and ruin their teams chemistry. We will never have reinhart, marchessault, pavelski and stamkos. And i agree with "Logicalicesports" don't sign and trade them.

Ehlers seems to be the whipping boy at the moment, new coach/same gm, so Carlson might be a little bigger ticket item than there after, but a big right handed shot dman has evaded them for a few seasons now.

Interesting idea. Do you think the the Caps would be willing to retain any salary? That would make the trade more appealing. To take out a second and get him at 6 mill

You need a 1st in that Necas package. This is pretty easily declined, there's just not enough here.
