Okay let me get this straight, you are going to sign someone just to trade them? I believe that is illegal with cap circumvention.

Additionally, every team in the league would take Marner for that cost

Please make these realistic if u say "offseason". no team in this league will go shop for all these stars and ruin their teams chemistry. We will never have reinhart, marchessault, pavelski and stamkos. And i agree with "Logicalicesports" don't sign and trade them.

Sign and trade is allowed up to 3 players per season. It's what Arizona, Chicago, and other teams rebuilding do. Toronto can't win next year, obtaining draft capital is the best option.

Understood there, but i thought it was sign and trade for someone that was on your roster or in your system the previous year. I did not think you were allowed to sign a free agent and immediately trade them with retention
