Saros and Novak --gt Playoffs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dgibb10</b></div><div>It also doesn't mean he stays.
Connor McDavid has 3 years of control on his contract. Outside of that he can go where ever he wants and nobody can stop him.
If he wants to come to Jersey he can come here whether we trade for him or not. Therefore anything beyond the 3 years he is under contract would have no bearing on his trade value</div></div>
You can literally say the same thing about RFAs. If Nemec woke up and decided he doesn't want to be a Devil anymore, theres nothing you can do about it. you can trade him but you won't get equal value back for him since he wants to leave

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dgibb10</b></div><div>To start:
You added a Palat+Meier+Haula for Hyman swap. Unfortunately Haula and Palat both decline to waive their NMCs for Edmonton.
2nd: You have decimated this teams depth and bottom 6
3rd: Dougie Hamilton will not be healthy until round 2 of the playoffs, who do you plan to fill that role?
4th: You haven't even made the team much better with the McDavid trade (The Hanifin trade is doing HEAVY lifting)
5th: You have decimated the team's future
6th: You have now placed Jack Hughes on the wing. Jack Hughes is not a winger and would much be less effective and less valuable in that role.
I would MUCH rather have a dcore of
Hughes-Nemec
Siegenthaler-Hamilton
Hanifin-Marino
than what you've left
And a forward core of
Hughes-Meier-Toffoli
Nico-Palat-Bratt
Haula-Lazar-Mercer
Nosek-Opkoso-Bastian
Than what you have left, let alone the future, cap implications, and the 2 extra 1sts I'd have to play with</div></div>
If they both decline then that sucks for you especially that Palat contract. you can move hischier to the 3rd line and put hughes onto the 2nd C. you can also leave Hyman out of the trade and keep Haula and use the rest on depth.
Same question for you who do you replace Hamilton with. I'd just say slap Bahl in there for the moment.
you are a win now team, you don't necessarily need prospects. Tampa didn't and they won 2 cups.
the Hanifin trade adds a lot but not nearly as much of an impact as McDavid would have. He's literally the type of player who will single Handley win a game once and a while for you. and no I didn't add all of those players for hyman. Meier and Haula was for McDavid, Palat was for Hyman. Needed to get rid of Meier cuz some how you guys ruined him and overpaid him.
Additionally, NJ could trade Hischier away for depth. I just decided to keep him cuz I like him

What If Jenner Waived M-NTC
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaseyFlyman</b></div><div>In what universe is Laughton better? They're similar players but Jenner is Laughton if Laughton was better at everything he does.
Jenner 37 GP, 16-5-21, -8, 694 GP Career 186-164-350, -67, 50.9% xGF% (+7.5% relative), 53% Corsi%, 55% FO%, 80 Hits
Laugthon 54 GP, 7-16-23, -6; 573 GP Career 89-133-222, -22, 41.1% xGF% (-12.5% relative), 44% Corsi%, 48.9 FO%, 98 Hits
I mean, moot point discussing relative values because Jenner doesn't get moved, but it's still absurd. If Cowan is on the table, I think the Leafs can keep Niemela for sure.</div></div>
I was taking into account untapped potential. we seen some from Laughton last year and if he got more ice time throughout his career his stats could've been better. But the main argument was the trade. I'd say Jenner's value is similar to Laughtons

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dgibb10</b></div><div>McDavid costs 37.5 million dollars over the next 3 years.
Let’s value a 1st at 5 million for maths sake.
Now let’s project some contracts
Mercer on a 4 year deal would likely cost about 4 mill.
So 17 mill total on him for the next 5 years.
Nemec on a 4 year bridge will cost around 6 mill I’d expect.
So around 27 mill for the next 7 years.
I’d expect Mercer to provide about 7 mill AAV in value over that time. (Top 6 forward). That’s 35 mill in value.
I’d expect Nemec to provide about 9 mill AAV in value over that time. 63 million there.
That is 108 mill in total value, about 44 mill in cost.
64 million dollars in surplus value.
So mcdavid at 37.5 mill would have to provide 101.5 million dollars in value over 3 years.
Do you think Connor Mcdavid is worth 34 million dollars?</div></div>
First things first, your estimating this stuff. Your assuming these 2 will become that good but things can happen. Additionally you're literally giving up the best player in the worth. Him and Drai single handedly brought the Oilers to the conference finals can you imagine what he could do with a actual competent team around him? If u were NJ GM and this offer came across your desk and you declined you would be immediately fired for the decision.

First off, I'm a Kings fan. Second you are not getting a player like Saros for a simple 2nd of 1st your literally insane. Saros has been one of the best G for the past like 4-3 years. I wouldn’t offer that for any player in the NHL.
Not Bedard, not McDavid, not Makar, not MacKinnon.

That's not what I think he's worth, that's what it'll take for NSH to move him. They want a lot for him. Also if you wouldn't give that up for McDavid or Makar then your literally insane. Nemec won't become a makar and Mercer wouldn't even come close to McDavid. I'm confident most people would think that trade would be a steal for McDavid

Nashville declines. Not nearly enough. For Saros alone they want like 2 first a good prospect and a young roster player. Holtz and a 1st is a good start but you need more. plus your adding a good young player like Novak AND their taking a dump in Vanecek.
Your looking at about 2 firsts, either Holtz or Nemec (nsh would prob want Nemec) a 2nd and like a Mercer or maybe they could be convinced on Siegenthaler
