Marner For Saros
TOR fans will be up in arms that Marner is worth much more than Saros.
NSH fans are unanimous in having no interest in a Marner trade in the first place.
Everyone declines.

Trade Up At Draft
Only thing I'd take on that list is Calgary recouping their 2025 1st.
It's a better draft and Calgary could be a ****ty team next season.

Trade Up At Draft
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Just_A_Guess</b></div><div>Iginla is why I targeted the CGY pick. We could take Iginla with our pick but there's no way he gets past CGY if he's still there at 9. We already get a 1st from CGY to use sometime in the next couple years so I was looking at the WPG pick + the '25 CGY/FLA pick + some younger prospect talent. Maybe even a secondary move where we acquire/trade up for a better pick than the WPG pick and flip to CGY for 9OA leaving us with the potential of drafting Lindstrom & Iginla this year.
I know it's unlikely and would be a high cost to make such a move but MTL has some quality options (like those listed above) who will likely make an NHL impact at some point in their careers. 20 spots is a huge jump which is why I was crowdsourcing for input. KH loves creative trades to get the pieces he wants so if it takes another trade up scenario to get a 1st closer to what CGY would want that would be reasonable. Was looking at the VGK & MIN cap crunches for next year and trying to figure out if there were potential to include them somehow but wanted to start here for info.</div></div>
I'm pretty sure the pitchforks will be out in CGY if Iginla is available and CGY trades down.
I also think that Iginla will go 6th/7th based on his recent success, and him being from a hockey family.

Trade Up At Draft
Calgary has good depth in terms of young players. What the Flames don't have is top end talent, and the best place to get it is at the top of the draft.
Though unlikely, the most I can see the Flames moving down is 3-4 spots at a time if their scouting staff doesn't see much of a difference between the top 4-5 players available.
Notable players taken 9th overall since 2003: Zegras, Sergachev, Meier, Ehlers, Horvat, Trouba, D. Hamilton, M. Granlund, Bailey, Couture, Phaneuf.
Players taken 27th at the same time: Frost, Namestnikov, J. Carlson, B. Smith, J. Schultz.
You tell me what it would take to trade down.

i dont see why Calgary moves that pick, unless its to move up. They had a lot of player movement over the past two seasons i think they're in a bit of a reset now, also if Iginla is still there have to assume they will be holding on to their pick.

Easier pass for the Habs, at least Anderson is an NHL player even at his current cap hit, and at half the cap he easily gets a positive return which Acciari does not.

Holtz Rossi Guhle three way
Why is Montreal making this move? They're about to draft a better forward than Rossi and Holtz with their 1st and don't have to give up Guhle to do it

A trade I saw EK65 back to OTT
That Mtl trade is useless. If they absolutely want to get rid of Anderson then they will bought him out. Xhekaj is not getting traded for piece who doesn’t improve MTL top 6.

Or since the Habs have the cap space and don't need to move Anderson, we keep everything

I don't think that Nashville does that even if you take out the second. The Predators have captain and All-Star Roman Josi, assistant captain Ryan McDonagh and NHL hit leader Jeremy Lauzon all for two more seasons, so why would one season of Jakob Chychrun be interesting to them?

Habs should at least consider trading Guhle
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Just_A_Guess</b></div><div>I mean could teach him to use his size? The size and skill is there, finish rounding out his game with physicality and he's a powerhouse. I can't see how adding Boldy to the top 6 would hurt the team. I mean I'm not on board with moving Guhle but finding a way to add a player like Boldy without moving any of what should be our core pieces I just don't see how it's a bad thing.</div></div>
Of course it wont hurt the team.
That aint what I said.
But you have to manage your assets and not throw them away to fit square pegs in round holes. Boldy has struggled immensely in the past two post seasons and doesnt use his size.
He isn't what you think, was my point and the Habs should be looking elsewhere if they are paying a high price like a Guhle.
Marco Rossi isn't what the Habs necessarily need either but because Rossi is probably dealt at a bargain, you can manage your assets accordingly as Kent Hughes has been able to do thus far.
I would ignore the Wild, personally, but if you want to take a swing ala Newhook (whom I also didn't think was a good target) Rossi is the better option. And it's the sort of move Hughes has been able to establish so far in his tenure.

Pass on one year of Mitch for a package that will likely set Toronto up with their top pair RHD for the next ten years.
I agree with the guy above, wait till next off season and see what UFAs become available. Who knows, could sign Marner or Draistle and pass Toronto as contenders

Wait a year. You'll be able to get a Boeser type for almost nothing. Plenty of teams will have cap problems the next 2 years, the cap still aint going up much when that Arizona team really screwed growth in the league.

Too much too soon. Need another season to let pieces fall into place. Spending cap and trading assets to advance into purgatory again would make the rebuild moot. Patience. One more year.
