Leafs Offseason
Now Nylander is a great player but why would Arizona do this? Not too mention it makes no sense to shed like 3 mil in cap space and downgrade from Nylander to Crouse. Overall just a confusing trade for me

Dumba to Dallas pt2
Does Dallas have the money or need to have Dumba long-term? Im not sure but I highly doubt this makes any sense for them. Not too mention the wild would not trade Dumba in division.

I just dont think Fiala to the knucks makes much sense. Ottawa, Buffalo and New Jersey all make way more sense for the wild.

I dont see Vancouver accepting this. If Fiala had term then maybe? but he simply doesn't. You aren't getting an unprotected first a protected first and a very solid young cheap player. I have no idea why Detroit is giving up firsts for a 34 year old Zuccarello aswell. This just isn't it sorry bro.

Seattle deal
Personally, I feel this is the wrong direction for the jets to go. I think they need to reload with some draft picks and giving young players opportunities (perfetti, heinola etc...). In my opinion they would be wise to try to replicate the Colorado model with keeping quality players and building. Morrissey, Ehlers and Dubois is a great start to that new era. I stress this is just my opinion.

Possible Solutions
Hmmmm. Tbh I dont think the lak trade makes sense for either team. Durzi has been quality for them this season with all the injuries and hes still young so they would definitely be hesitant. And trading a young potential depth defenseman that already has professional experience and an elc when the cap situation for the wild is challenging doesn't make a whole lotta sense. Overall, not bad ideas here just not all parties would be interested.

I have a feeling this doesn't happen simply because the draft is in Montreal. Too great a story to have the first overall pick in your own barn. Obviously im not psychic so it could happen just my guess on it.

Just my opinion But I would think Arizona stays away from Mailloux. They are already trying to repair their image from the miller situation and im not sure adding Mailloux would be good for PR. Gotta remember hockey is a business at the end of the day. Not really talking value here either as I honestly have no idea.

I sent your proposal to Billy G. Trying to see his response but for some reason Im blocked. Odd. Imo you should remove the 3rd to make the deal more fair. [Just having fun no hard feelings. Have a good day :)]

Dumba
So here are my thoughts. Personally, I agree that the wild should do their damnest to keep Fiala Im just not sure what the possibility of that is. The wild have to shed some cap and I personally agree that Dumba probably has to go unfortunately looking at the Goligoski extension and the defensive prospect pipeline. Im not sure where he ends up but if we can keep Fiala he is almost definitely gone. However as for the cap casualities, Im thinking greenway would be a poor trade as he is huge on the Foligno and Ek line. Im not sure why everyone is rushing to sign fleury personally. Like yes he is great, but the wild dont in my opinion need both him and talbot. You can trade or not sign one and use a cheaper goalie for the year like Wedgewood or Stalock (Maybe?) imo. Just my take on the keep Fiala scenario but I don't dislike what you have done here. Cheers!

VGK - Van - Chi 3 way trade VGK dumps salary
I feel the value is really skewed towards Vancouver here. I dont think their return really matches up with what their giving up. Yes Brock is good when he is on but he is also an rfa that's probably not looking to go long term and will be a ufa in likely 2-3 years. Vancouver meanwhile in return is getting a lot of nice positive assets that feels to me like an overpay. So yeah looking at pure value its probably too big a win for Vancouver. However I think Chicago as a rebuilder has literally no incentive to make this deal and Vegas probably feels they can do better on a simple dump like the Anaheim deal or something. Overall not the worst idea I have ever seen at all but unlikely to happen imo.

Wild Next Season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>I really don't see how Dumba can be traded without taking cap back in a trade. He has a 10 team no trade list, which eliminates poor teams with cap. And poor teams aren't giving up three top picks for a year rental. And the majority of teams on his trade list don't have the cap to take on a 6m without sending cap back to Minni. Just think there are really so few option to trade Dumba and certainly he isn't getting that return.</div></div>
You know you may be right. Its highly possible Minny keeps Dumba. I just dont see the long-term logic in regards to cap in it for them. Maybe its a keep him and then flip him at the deadline kinda deal (if the team is underachieving)? Not sure. Really I feel hes just gonna get extended but moving him is just what I would do. Will be interested to see how Guerin handles this mess.

Vancouver signing Petey and Hughes
The Wild Decline. They cant afford Myers's bad contract and the defensive pieces included are worth less then a young, cheap, solid and potential starting goalie for the team. Have a feeling Billy G throws his phone out a window unfortunately.

Wild Center Idea
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lancebmx</b></div><div>You are only allowed to have 3 retained contracts on the books per year, so this deal would mean no more retention this season and only one for the next four years after. I also think they could sacrifice Boldy for a centre, I just feel like if they do that he better be quite good.</div></div>
Ah ok, thanks for the insight. This is not like super final either just throwing the idea out there. Its gonna be a tricky half decade for Billy G that's for sure.

Wild Center Idea
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>But who else do you have to trade that would get you Schmaltz?
I floated several Dumba-for-Schmaltz ideas before the expansion draft, but Guerin went in the opposite direction. Maybe the 2022 first plus Kahkonen plus Rask for the cap relief? And I don't think that Arizona will retain on anyone for five years, by the way.</div></div>
That haul seems kind of shortsighted in my eyes personally. Rask's contract is done after this season so next year you end with a full priced schmaltz no first rounder and 15 ish mil of dead cap. it would be hella hard pull off. And yeah they may not especially with the retention on OEL. but figured they would be the only one who may with the looming rebuild. Awesome Insight, Cheers.

Wild Center Idea
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lancebmx</b></div><div>I don't know if Schmaltz is the answer for Minny but your logic is sound and it would take a guy like boldy to get that deal done. Especially since they couldn't retain on anyone again this year and would only have one retain a year for the next 5 years. I feel they lose the option for getting a good return for Kessel with the retain as well, so there is also that.</div></div>
Yeah, I personally like schmaltz but there may be other options for sure. And I had no idea Arizona couldn't retain haha kind of kills the whole trade. Idea is still solid imo though
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wabit</b></div><div>Giving up Boldy, Rossi, or Addison is a non-starter for me from MN.</div></div>
That's totally fair. Im sure tons of people have different perspectives
