Top Five
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dgibb10</b></div><div>I expect Dach will be statpadding on a bad PP1 via minutes again.
5v5 will be even more interesting because he’ll probably be forced to play center, where he’s had 0 success (his only thing resembling success was being a passenger winger alongside Suzuki and Caufield) since Slaf will be on line 1.
Will he remain on PP1? Or will Newhook (the better player) keep his role there? Or will they rotate?
If he doesn’t get PP1 time and doesn’t have 2 studs alongside to carry him anymore it likely gets ugly.
But if he gets the same 4 minutes a night of PP1 time I’m sure that’ll fool enough Canadiens fans</div></div>
Dach was arguably the Habs best player before he got hurt ...
You gotta watch hockey, he will compete for the #1 Center spot

If it's costing more than a 2nd to dump him his buyout is extremely cheap and we will just go that way</div></div>
Fair enough, I should have looked into his buyout first

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>theleano1</b></div><div>Canucks pass, Barron isn't worth a 1st right now, a 2nd to dump Mikheyev is probably right however</div></div>
I don’t think Barron is worth a 1st right now but 2 years at nearly 5M for Mikheyev will cost more than a 2nd to dump IMO. So a mix of Mikheyev dump + adding a young RHD is IMO a protected 1st round pick and a 2nd round pick

Realistic Rangers Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SlafCaufZuki</b></div><div>I said it won't land you Kakko, but it's probably the most I'd be willing to offer. I also don't think the Habs will be trading with the Rangers anytime soon anyway. Kakko just screams bust and he's just be a defensive 3RW for the rest of his career. Nothing wrong with that, but I'd rather use bigger assets like seconds, better prospects and firsts on bigger fish</div></div>
Lehkonen was a great defensive 3rd line winger and it costed a late 1st + 2nd round pick (in terms of value) for Colorado. So I don’t think you understand the value of a great young 3rd line winger cost controlled

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lancebmx</b></div><div>I line glue you comp him with a depth defenseman and a late first and then pay him 7M cause he must be worth it and put him on the top line. If he is a 7M top line forward then he likely gets a better return.
I guess we know what Caufield is worth then.....</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>Gotta say...as a fan of neither MTL or CAR...seems like you either undervaluing Necas or WAY over valuing Jordan Harris.</div></div>
Necas is overvalued here, big time. But a 6'2 RW who can play C has good value and he is young. The team acquiring him acquire a top 6 C/RW long terms. Of course his value is high, but Necas is NOT a top line forward. A good 2nd line player for sure.
MTL-CAR aren't good trade partners, the only interesting piece we have for Necas is Matheson but CAR already have Slavin and Orlov on the left side. So Matheson isn't needed, especially since he isn't playing on his offside

We have seen plenty of dumps similar to mikheyev for a 2nd
Barron couldn’t carve out an NHL spot on a team that wasn’t trying to compete (incentivized to play youngsters) with only 2 RD on the roster, neither of which are good hockey players.
Savard and Kovacevic the only RHD on the roster. And Barron could not remain in the NHL.</div></div>
He was waivers exempt, it’s called assets management
We also have LHD playing their offside
