Jets find a Centre .... (comment on trades)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>johnnyu22</b></div><div>Ya, I think he could get up to about $7 million, I'm just hoping arbitration is able to drive the price down a bit and suggest that he only has one Vezina-calibre season under his belt, so it may be risky to pay him what he may or may not be worth. And I'm not so sure. I think any team in the league looks for an opportunity to bolster their backend. I think if Winnipeg held on to half of Myers contract, the deal would look even better as well. Its a trade that could happen, and if not, the Jets would show interest in Kase as well for a winger position on the jets 3rd.</div></div>
That's fair, arbitration could drive it down a bit, but I dont think Winnipeg lets it get that far. Most players are signed before they have to have a third party negotiator, and Chevy will probably be anxious to get his number 1 netminder locked up ASAP.
As for the trade, holding back some of Myers' salary would help, but I still think they hold on to Rakell. With Getzlaf and Perry on the decline, Anaheim lacks the offensive firepower they once had. Rakell is a perennial 30 goal threat, and only 25. They'll wanna keep him for the future.

I dont think ANA says yes to that deal. Also, Hellebucyk will get closer to 7/7.5 mil per season. Vezina candidate this year and the clear cut starter, he'll get paid

opening night (most likely)
Bjork will start in the AHL, and then will most likely play second line alongside Krejci and DeBrusk. JFK will probably win that 3C position over Studnicka, but I would't be surprised if Studnicka makes it really close.

Halak signing is great and..
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ON3M4N</b></div><div>Yes, its called Bruins fans.
See Boston always needs something to complain about, something always to poke at and say it could be better.
For years we begged, pleaded and prayed to the hockey gods for a PMD that could put up points from the back end. We we're finally granted our wish with Krug, but now those same fans say we need a more reliable defender that isn't on the ice for as many goals. Its kind of like when our fans complain that we don't give young guys a chance and then those same fans turn around and say we need to trade kids for more proven talent.
Truth is Krug has value around the NHL. 50+ point d-men don't grow on trees and if you look at this years draft you can see a lot of teams went with OFD (some even undersized) in the first few rounds. If Krug was 6'2/6'3 then B's fans would have a statue of him made already. Since he's 5'9 he's expendable because he'll never be anything more than a PP Specialist (according to the pink hat army). It'll take a serious package for Boston to trade Krug</div></div>
I've never read anything more accurate than this. It drives me nuts that Bruins fans want him gone, makes no sense to me

Mark Stone
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BeastMode5515</b></div><div>Yeah, I see where you're coming from here. But I feel that bjork is enough price to pay, because stone is an elite player. Maybe taking out frederic and putting seneshyn or something though.</div></div>
yeah i would rather senyshyn, big, young, talented centres are a rare breed, and i think we would end up regretting moving Frederic so early on

I'd love to get Mark Stone dont get me wrong, but this seems like a lot to give up for him. Bjork should be in the NHL next season, and he has serious potential to take over that second line wing position very effectively. i wouldnt give up him and a talented young centre like Frederic for Stone, even though Stone would be a good fit

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruinsFan13</b></div><div>1. The Krug trade for is bound to happen if not for Wilson then for someone like him I'm sure. I mean yeah we could probably get more for Krug but a Wilson type player would benefit the team in more ways then one.
2. The Simmonds trade works for both sides as Philly gets to bolster their D and we get a mainly constant, except for last year, 50+ points guy that has grit.
Instead of Wilson who would you trade Krug for?</div></div>
personally, if we had to move Krug then i would include him in a package deal for Panarin. i understand CBJ might not need defense, but i think that would be the best scenario for a Krug trade, as we get a very good second line winger out of him. if not Panarin, then possibly Simmonds, or someone of his caliber

VAN + CAR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Canucks1</b></div><div>I don’t know where to start at how awful this post is.
1) The fact that you use plus minus to devalue a player is beyond laughable. Plus minus is a useless stat. Especially on a basement rebuilding team.
2) If you think Heinen has more value than Horvat because of corsi and points without looking at offensive zone time, line mates etc. Then you’re clueless. I’ll bet you anything Studnicka won’t even make the NHL and Lauzon is nothing more than a bottom pairing dman. Juolevi has draft pedigree and is tracking to be a top 4 dman.
Oh trust me I research and watch many games of prospects on every team. How about watching a Canucks game once in a while?</div></div>
alright listen. Horvat is better than Heinen, not denying that. Lauzon has got potential, maybe not top 4 potential but he could be a solid top 6 guy down the line. saying Studnicka wont even make the NHL though? thats just stupid. the kid has serious potential and is only 19, theres already been talk of him maybe making the team out of camp this year, and even if he doesnt i think theres a very good chance he could be in the league later in the season. saying he wont make the NHL is laughable, clearly you were just looking to insult a fan and picked the first name that you saw.
as for Juolevi, it still remains to be seen whether or not he can be effective at a high level. sure he went 4th overall, but he has struggled a bit in junior and so far has not lived up to the hype. not saying he is a flop, im just saying its a bit too early to tell just how good he will be (ie. will he be a top 4 guy or a top 6 guy). dont count your chickens before they hatch dude. draft pedigree doesnt mean jack **** until you can prove yourself. try not to "overvaluate your prospects"

i could see a trade like that happening, and boy would it ever be nice to have EK in the black and gold. i like it. we'd have to get creative with the salary cap in the coming seasons sure, but i think we could make it work if we're careful

Krug and a prospect for Wilson is a terrible deal for us. a proven PP QB and borderline 60pt defenseman for a guy who has yet to score 20 goals, or top 35 points in a single season? i understand if we have to move Krug at some point, but not in a deal like this
also, quantity doesnt always equal quality. lot of players for Simmonds yes, but the value isnt there. i cant see Hextall saying yes to that at all.

seems like we would be giving up a lot more talent than we'd be getting in return. after deals like those i dont see a roster primed for a deep playoff run, and on top of that we gave up a lot of our future so our window gets even smaller. i like the idea of adding Panarin but if thats the deal to get him then i say no thank you

Trade for Skinner
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ngikas</b></div><div>Still think don makes a move or two to get a winger and 3c in a package deal.</div></div>
i could see that happening, obviously Skinner would be a good start, and would probably cost less than Panarin, but another addition wouldnt hurt. we could even look at the free agents still remaining, a guy like Antoine Vermette could fill that 3C position nicely.

yeah that would make sense, extra centres are always a plus. as for 3C, i agree that JFK or Studnicka could make a real push for it. maybe not Frederic yet, i think he needs another year of seasoning, but the other 2 for sure
