Description
Jets dish out pick, prospects and a top 4 D to an annual contender to address the need for a 2C. Dump Kulikov and Lemieux to get back a few depth picks. Sign Sbisa and Chiasson for depth on D and in the bottom 6 up front.

Every team is willing to part ways with any player for the right price. I doubt that the Ducks are shopping him because he has an excellent contract, but for a strong haul from Winnipeg and with Kesler still on the team they may be willing to part ways for a high end D, depth centre, skilled prospect and picks.

The Ducks are really solid with their Top4 defensemen
So why would they trade their BEST winger, with a GREAT contract, for Myers- who would be on their 3rd pair?
Also, they wouldn’t be able to protect Myers in the upcoming expansion draft

The value isn’t bad with the other pieces u add,
but it just doesn’t make sense from Anaheim’s point of view
Especially if they need to move Rakell to Center for Kesler
I can’t imagine they’d move him
Not for that particular group of players

I dont think ANA says yes to that deal. Also, Hellebucyk will get closer to 7/7.5 mil per season. Vezina candidate this year and the clear cut starter, he'll get paid

Ya, I think he could get up to about $7 million, I'm just hoping arbitration is able to drive the price down a bit and suggest that he only has one Vezina-calibre season under his belt, so it may be risky to pay him what he may or may not be worth. And I'm not so sure. I think any team in the league looks for an opportunity to bolster their backend. I think if Winnipeg held on to half of Myers contract, the deal would look even better as well. Its a trade that could happen, and if not, the Jets would show interest in Kase as well for a winger position on the jets 3rd.

Its certainly worth thinking about! It'll all depend on how comfortable the Ducks are moving forward in the next few years away from the Getzlaf and Perry era. They'll need picks and prospects and are one of the many teams that have to rebuild on the fly in order to stay competitive, and sometimes trades like this are good ways to add depth in prospects and picks, and give them a loan of a top 4 d man, whether they need him or not. I think the trade would be a stretch and there are probably players more available in the league, but I can still see Anaheim moving away from Rakell for a 5 piece return.

But they aren’t gonna move a guy on a great contract who would be the key piece to their rebuild
He’s only 25

Much more likely to move one of their defenseman
IF they have to
Not trade one of the few good young forwards they have for a defenseman they can’t even protect in 2yrs

That makes ZERO sense for them moving forward

That's fair, arbitration could drive it down a bit, but I dont think Winnipeg lets it get that far. Most players are signed before they have to have a third party negotiator, and Chevy will probably be anxious to get his number 1 netminder locked up ASAP.

As for the trade, holding back some of Myers' salary would help, but I still think they hold on to Rakell. With Getzlaf and Perry on the decline, Anaheim lacks the offensive firepower they once had. Rakell is a perennial 30 goal threat, and only 25. They'll wanna keep him for the future.
