Robertson trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JeffGorton</b></div><div>Suzuki isnt holding out on a contract. Suzuki is a future captain. Center is a higher value position than a winger.
Harley is nowhere near the same as Guhle. Harley has the same floor but way lower ceiling than Guhle. Anderson is better than Gurianov. And for the 1st, most likely a 6-10 pick in 2024. A stronger draft than 2022.
You also forgot about the Khudobin cap eating which easily costs a team a 2nd rounder at the very least</div></div>
You can tweak it the way you want, there is like 10 person on your post telling you you're way off, some not even Dallas fans.
Yes suzuki is under contract and play center but no matter how much dollars he sign for Robertson is worth it and as a much higher production rythm.
Maybe anderson is better than Gurianov but also older and more expensive for a longer period of time.
Yes Guhle should be better than Harley but both still has everything to prove in the NHL.
The pick cant be top 10 in 2023, top 5 in 2024 after your conditions, with that roster anyway its probably not even possible.
You are just wrong my friend its okay

Robertson trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JeffGorton</b></div><div>Did you forget the Debrincat trade? Hes better than Robertson by a decent way and hes only went for 7th overall (Guhle and our 1st) and a 2nd + 3rd (Anderson + Khudobin cap dump)</div></div>
First of all, he's not. Pretty sure Dallas would never have traded him for the 7th overall. Then you cant compare value in a trade and value in another trade. There is always age, contracts, capspace, where teams are at in the process for contention.
But lets just compare value here for fun. Would you trade Suzuki for
Gurianov, big strong 20 goal winger similar to Anderson
Harley, 1st round pick defensman same age as Guhle and drafted 2 spots after
A 1st that will never be top 10 with all your conditions
A 4th and a 7th
Even if the comparisons are not 100% accurate, pretty sure your answer is a big fat no!

Lundkvist is not on the market because he's worthless or something like that, NYR just dont have space on the roster for him. He's still a 22 years old 1st round pick with decent progression. A C and a D prospect + a 4th is not even close. Lundkvist value should be pretty close to someone like Barron.
Mysak, Norlinder and a 2nd with maybe a 4th coming back? Just spitballing here but much more quality definitly has to go to NY than your offer IMO.

Dude, even considering Anderson has good value, this proposal is a joke. Robertson is a 23 years old PPG player you can't be serious. You could replace Anderson with Caufield and I would probably still say no if Im Jim Nill...

I think you're too high on Tuch. Besides the name his curb of progression shows very little to be excited about. On the other hand, Josh Roy is already making a name for himself without even being 20. I feel like Harvey-Pinard and Ylonen should also be up there somewhere, no chance at a top6 but they both have tools to grown into very effective role players

Man, I'm not even that high on Mailloux and Norlinder but all of this to get rid of 1 year of Byron and 2 years of Hoffman while getting back a prospect with one of the worst injury history of all time?
Byron will probably get buried on LTIR and if not, I think we can manage the last year of his contract..
Getting rid of Hoffman will be steep but a 2nd and a B prospect should do it or else we can wait next summer so the price can get less expensive.
I get Mailloux's background but he's still a 1st round pick with good potential and the 2023 2nd will be top 40. Its 2 assets worth keeping in a rebuilding context. I get that shedding salary is hard nowaday but Hoffman and Byron are not that much of a problem IMO. We need ONE salary move to be okay for Dach until next year, I think we can figured it out without giving up that much.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ploppz</b></div><div>Montembault is as bad as your whole team was last season, please... He's had 1 year where his save% was above .900 since he was in college, and that's for 11 games in the AHL lmao. Please educate everyone on how he's "improving".</div></div>
Well, it's pretty simple, he had a couple of games where he was the only reason we got a W behind terrible defensive performances. At the beginning of the year, he was spectacular on some saves and let some disgusting goals go in. At the end he was much more consistant on 60 minutes. Its easy to look at stats and make them tell you the story you want to ear, if you watched every game in a very very bad habs seasons like I did, you would see the improvements.
Anyway its not like im saying Montembeault is the next best thing, I just told the guy he wasnt as bad as he described him. I know he wont ever be more than a #2 but at his age and with what he did last season, he showed enough to be confident about him being capable of handling 20-25 games espically if the team in front of him gets better.

Montembeault is far from being the worst goalie in the NHL... The kid is only 25, the age most goaltenders starts being nhl ready, he only started 63 time in the NHL and was improving all year long. Of course he was not constant but he managed to get a couple of really impressive performances behind a terrible team.

So we give you a younger, less expensive center and a younger and better goaltender for a more expensive center who underproduced since 2020 with 5 years at 5.9 remaining and an AHL goaltender? Great take!

Nope, thats not it. If you have that kind of thinking you're as clueless as them.
1. Like any other fanbase in any sports, more than 50% does not have the necessary knowledge to formulate good trade propositions considering value, cap, context, organizational depth etc.
2. Mtl fanbase is deeper and more passionate than pretty much any other nhl fanbase so of course you'll see more **** post like this one.
So before trashing on us, take a long look at most of the threads in ArmChair GM without cibling specific teams and you'll see that the trade proposals from everyone who post is 95% of the time in favor of the team they post about.

I think the MTL trade is fair and you could probably even get a little more but if Im Kent Hughes, Guhle is an untouchable, this guy will be one of the more reilable Dman of the NHL in a couple of years without ever being a star. Much rather take a swing at PLD when he hits free agency in 2024, especially since he was openly saying he really wanted to play in MTL before even coming to WIN.

That's the equivalent of almost 4x1st round picks. Barron was a 1st round pick with a stable progression and the 2nd round pick is one spot away of being a first. Not saying you're super wrong because a PLD trade would require some real good assets but this is a little steep. I think this proposal is fair with maybe the EDM 2nd round pick or the 2023 habs 2nd round pick to be added.

Out of context, the Montreal one is fair and I would gladly welcome Boeser as a fan. We just can't afford him and also, we just dont need that kind of upgrade right now (especially for draft capital). We are a couple of years away from contention anyway so Boeser or any other major move would be a side step.

Giving away Romanov just to get rid of 1 year of Drouin and a contract that we can put on LTIR, what a great Idea might as well add Ylonen!
Seriously man, Drouin can be kept for one year without really hurting us, he can also be traded half retained for a small return. Getting rid of Weber's contract should not cost us more than a 3rd round pick. Adding Letang and Hall won't make us close to contention anyway. We should try to get these kind of guys when ready, not for a quick fix.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campabee</b></div><div>In my opinion the equivalent of 2 1st + 2 2nds (the estimated low end of the above package). Is a huge overpay. Yeah, I did not say I would do it either. I just tried to make an offer devils fans would at least consider. I agree Guhle alone might end up being better than any of Slaf, Cooley or Nemec, but from the devils GM perspective, I think it would take a pretty big haul to consider it, espicially since they probably want an already elite top6 foward or top4 dman entering his prime to accelerate their rebuild and we just cant offer it.
Lets say you are Hughes and you're really High on slaf, cooley or nemec and you just want it, what would your offer look like?

We do have a lot of upcomging good players and I am really happy too but most of them are Defenseman. If you consider Caufield and Suzuki (and they are) as out of the prospect pool, we are still very very thin in foward depht, Farrell, Mysak, Kidney and Roy being our best chances at top 6 fowards. None of them are blue chips prospects tho so we reeeeaaaalllyy need to be on target in July AND have a chance to aim on a big name in June 2023

Mock Draft 2022
- Brad Lambert won't be taken 4th, he does have really high upside and could end up being one of the best player of the draft but his season is just too disappointing.
- Ostlund and Hughes before Lekkerimaki, Yurov, Mateychuk and Gauthier that's just crazy
- Mirochnisenko will drop much more than that.
- Mintyukov is way way way too low.
I don't agree with a lot of other stuff but draft is not a science and nothing else seems too out of the blue from what I know. The 4 points I highlighted tho just seemed to much of a stretch not to be mentionned. And im not here to **** about your post, I just read a lot and watch very little games about most of those players so my insight is as good as an average fan but again, the 4 highlighted points are just too out of the box for me hehe.

I think Wright is NHL ready but not for a predominant role at 1 or 2 C. In that case, I would send him back to junior to boost his confience at 120% even if he doesn't really need it, just so that we don't rush him unnecessarily in a probably bad season. Let's just do our best for Bedard, Fantelli or Mitchkov and bring Wright when we can really start turning the corner seriously with capspace, UFA signings etc. He won't be good enough next year to toss Dvorak anyway IMO so 1.Suzuki 2,Dvorak 3. Evans 4. Poehling and pray for another top 3 pick. Barron Guhle Harris, Ylonen or others is enough youth for MSL to develop in 2022-2023

Could be in the top 20, I know he has impressive speed and a scoring touch but I did not have the chance to read more or see some videos on him so it's more of a lack of knowledge like I said about Biondi above. For Farrell, I think he's a gem and would absolutly not trade him because of too many small players in the organization. If he becomes as good as I think and we do end up having to many small fowards, we could just get rid of someone else. Of course if he is part of a deal that brings a good established top6, I can go with it but I would try to trade 1st round picks or other prospects to achieve that before him.
