<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Daredevil514</b></div><div>Yes, like I said he can be a good surprise, he would not be the first to put up modest numbers un Europe and then crushing the NHL but still, I'll be happy if he becomes a top9 foward, he's still very far from a 40-60 pts wingers (what a top6 winger has to put up). We'll see but I would not reject the idea of a talent like Boeser because Ylonen or Caufield might be good.</div></div>
And that will helps immediately, that’s good for sure and we still keep our 2 best RW prospect

I agree you probably get more for Petry. I also can't see Detroit using 2 picks to get a Petry because he plays the one position they don't need to upgrade.

Value isn't bad for the Wild trade but I still don't like the idea of moving Brodin for Domi. I'd pass personally but like I said the value is there.

KK was a 3rd line center at 18. He is only 19, doubt he stays a 3rd liner his whole career. Have more faith in him then this, I say MTL doesnt do it.

You are making us Hab fans look bad when you try these low-ball offers
I know that we like Domi he is an exciting player at times, but that doesn't get you near Eichel.
We have real high hopes for KK but the truth is the rest of the GMs of other teams think he might be a bust and wouldn't want to touch him right now till they see if he can rebound next year.

I would say Zibanejad would be the starting point for any Eichel trades involving the NYR.

I'm not a sabres fan, you aren't getting one of the top players in the nhl for a bunch of garbage pieces. You better start throwing top pieces or buffalo hangs up. Kakko starts the talks or buff hangs up

I don't hate it!
But Julien is so conservative it's boring. Even though we don't have a chance at winning the cup, he'll never try new stuff. He's gonna stick to the same old lines.
I was reallly surprised Suzuki played so many games pivoting the 2nd line under Julien.

Tatar MTL trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Daredevil514</b></div><div>Not a bad trade coming from a habs fan. For the previous comments tho, its definitly a 2020 first or nothing, we are not in a five years rebuild mode.
As a whole, the value is definitly there and its true that the scouting staff had some love for Jost in 2016 but now, he doesnt fit any real need. I dont see him tossing anyone of Suzuki KK or Danault in the depth chart, there is no real place for him even less with Domi still at center. I would see this happening if one of those guys is traded tho.
Personnally, if we are to trade Tuna, I would prefer getting a real propsect with probably more uncertity but also more potential, I just dont see Jost ever becoming more than a 3rd line player. There is a reason he gets shipped in most avs thread hehe.</div></div>
I think this was the trade that they were trying to do at the TDL, and MB probably took the stance you are taking, and Sakic didn’t want to give up the 2020 1st primarily because they would then not be picking until the end of the 3rd rd.

Subban and PLD
Dubois is the heartbeat of the CBJ attack and you could make an argument he's their franchise player
Poehling is probably a bottom 6 C. He's been underwhelming aside from his debut
Mete plays the position that the Jackets organization is extremely deep at. He probably doesn't even crack their top 6 D.
Domi is a good player and that 1st is valuable, but CBJ won't be able to get a #1 C with the size and pedigree of Dubois with that pick. Options they will have would be undersized C who probably move to the wing in the NHL or the 2 swedes who are true wingers

Drouin isnt useless and can produce a fair amount of point and still have room to grow. Its easy now to tell but at the time, no one tought it was a mistake, Drouin was 22 and got out of a 53pts season.</div></div>
I think they could get Sergachev back with an offer sheet. Tampa is severely cap strapped... Hope Bergevin goes for it... I wanna see the cup back in Canada.

Leafs Signing UFA Alex Pietrangelo Hurts Team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Daredevil514</b></div><div>Then what's the point of doing a thread if you're butching it or doing stuff without a simple explanation like : any team, so we can understand.
If you look AT the last deadline market i agree some team would gave up a 1st for them but the market was crazy and overall, middle 6 fowards arent worth firsts if you look at most past years. With all the league should went trough in the next 2 years, trades will be rarer and big assets like 1st wont be moved easily. While they can help any team, Johnsson and Hyman will never have the same numbers without constantly playing with Marner/Tavares/Matthews/Nylander and teams know that.
So in a summer trade you wont ever get that and deadline trades it COULD happened but doesnt make any sense, leafs being a playoff team/ contenders and selling those guys in the middle of a season doesnt make anysense unless you're retooling, its more of a we give up message for the rest of the roster and the fans.</div></div>
Good comment and very accurate, what a player could fetch at the TDL is very different from what they'd get in return in the summer or even mid-season, no way Johnsson gets a 1st for the Leafs and coming off his injuries I think the 2nd round picks I see on so many ACGMs where he's traded is a reach, he likely gets a 3rd round pick if the Leafs trade him in the offseason.

Take some risks
Both Columbus and Montreal decline that trade. PLD isn’t worth KK, Mete and a 1st to Montreal and worth more then that to Columbus. Anderson for a 2nd is whatever.
Columbus really has no use for Mete being that he’d have a hard time making the line up when everyone is healthy with Werenski, Gavrikov, Murray, Jones, Savard and Nuttivaara all better then he is.
As for KK and PLD the difference is more then a 1st right now but Montreal still thinks that KK is going to be worthy of the 3rd overall pick, but after a very disappointing year, other teams could question you trying to trade him as you know something and you think he’s going to bust. He showed great in the AHL but that still doesn’t get Columbus to move their best center for a guy who was sent down because he couldn’t produce at the NHL level for their best forward (point wise anyways).
The value is probably in the favor of Columbus side, but there’s no incentive for either team to make this trade as Columbus is trying to be a competitive team and selling PLD for futures and an unneeded LHD isn’t good asset management.
Then putting PLD on the 2nd line is just embarrassing.

Some RW help so Gallagher can rest
Sharks have Hertl for 2C and he is much better than Domi. The Sharks are also already thin on top 6 wingers so this is a "1 step forward and 2 steps back" kind of trade. I dont think the value is awful but I just dont see SJ moving a young proven top end talent for anyrhing right now. He fits their retool/rebuild perfectly. Also, why is Montreal in dire need of a RW when they have Caufield coming up. IMO some sort of combination of Gally, Tatar, Danault, Drouin, Domi, Suzuki, kotkaniemi, and Armia is perfectly fine for their retool.

Domi trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Daredevil514</b></div><div>We dont need Jost, we could use a physical Dman like Zadarov but not at this price. The 1st is really not intersting, COL already is a great team and will become a firepower in the NHL, this pick will be like 25th. Even if the habs draft the right player, he would be ready in 2024-2025... If Domi is traded, its for immediate help or a soon to be ready very good prospect.</div></div>
What’s weird is I agree with you and disagree. From MTL pt of view it definitely seems like a quantity over quality trade. However I think Jost is a guy that blossoms given a regular shot at the top 6, I just don’t think MTL is that team with what they have in their system. From an Avs pt of view I think Domi is a little overrated. Yeah he had a 70pt season but he also had a career high shooting percentage that year and his next highest pt total is 54 where he had his 2nd highest shooting percentage ever, also for the Avs he isn’t getting PP1 minutes so how does that affect his production. Ultimately I think this is a trade better off not made.
As for the other items I don’t think Saegon ever gets an ELC, Burzan isn’t likely to get it this yr either. AJ Greer and Kamenev are almost assuredly gone, their time with the organization has run its course and they both want realistic shots at making NHL full time rosters and that isn’t happening in Colorado.
I do love the idea of both Timmins and Byram in the starting rotation, I just don’t think the Avs will do it.

Big off season
Big overpay for Cirelli, sure he’s a great player but I’d be willing to bet his numbers are inflated playing on a stacked TB team. Danault is establishing himself as a top tier two way centre and his offensive is improving, KK had a set back this year but is still only 20 so give him two years and he can be just as good as Cirelli or better. Ylonen is developing nicely and could be a nice top 9 with top 6 potential. Habs are way better off keeping these three players. Also if we really wanted him an offer sheet is the way we would go.

Who would you draft
It really depends on what you see in Kotki's future IMO. Suzuki is shaping to to a solid top 6 center, Domi can also be a solid 2C. Danault is a decent 2C and elite 3C. So rhats kind of where it falls. Can Kotki live up to his draft? If yes, get a winger, if no get a center. I would probably not get Lundell though due to his lower offensive ceiling and you already have Danault for that 2-way player
