Next Year with Celebrini
This is a weird way to troll leaf fans. Why on earth does a guy making not much over league min cost a 1st to move? Burying him in the minors costs them 300k in dead cap. That doesn't cost a 1st in any universe

Regarding #2, I don't see CBJ retaining on Peeke.</div></div>
Who ever the new GM is, gotta think moving Jenner is a viable option. I don’t understand why but I get BlueJacket fans on this site live him but he’ll return valuable pieces that you can build with, he doesn’t fit your competitive window (3-5 years out), and having him on your roster hasn’t helped - 4 straight DNQs. Jackets don’t have to move him but they should to maximize their potential to win when all the high draft picks hit their prime

Conroy felt that was a fair trade, but the majority of ppl here are shocked and were expecting what I was suggesting. Like ppl are amazed it’s not a 1st RD Pick or that the 2nd isn’t conditional to becoming a 1st had they made the Finals
We’re all here just giving our best guess. Who really cares at the end of the day, this is all just fluff and not really important in life. Now did you learn something today!?</div></div>
Dude spouts off with pretty strong takes on this site - no problem there - but doesn’t want to be called out when wrong. Come on, grow up - you were off on your valuation of Tanev and it’s not Conroy’s fault . You’ve been wrong before (spectacularly ); it happens 🤷🏻

No to both trades from my perspective. Be nice, but don’t need Vatrano - top scoring team in the league without him; prefer to target a bottom 6 centre . And Walker is not worth a 1st

Appreciate your comment but Ruuta will not require a 1st. No one in the league would give a 1st for Ruuta. He's not worth much more than a 3rd and I doubt there's a lineup for him even at that price

All Offence
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaptainTavares</b></div><div>I guess it is realistic in theory, I just don't see the Leafs having any interest in it.
Knies is exactly the type of winger they have been looking for and is having a solid rookie season. He already plays in the top 6, you don't trade those players away. H<strong><em>e will also be a RFA in two years when Buch will be a UFA - his next contract will come in quite a bit cheaper</em></strong>.</div></div>
I understand what you were trying to do here. But the main reason it will come in much cheaper is because Buch is a proven PPG player. Knies is at about .5ppg, cherry picking a bit with sample size but that's the main point. Not a knock on Knies but this is the reality of young kids who come in in good situations. It's just as likely he never solidifies himself as a top 6 player as it is he ever has the same impact Buchnevich has at this level.

Yeah it really comes down to whether or not you think the difference between Knies and Buch in your top 6 is enough to push you to the cup in the next two years.

Tanev you're right I forgot to include Retention compensation.
Knies and a 1 for Buch this year and next retained is Very Realistic, Im not saying I'd do it I would hate to give up on Knies but Buch at 4 Million this year and next should be something everyone thinks about.

Trade Deadline - Playoff Push v3
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>kash</b></div><div>That's a fair assessment. However, in my eyes - the Leafs give up a semi-late 1st, a mid-round 3rd, a 5th for Tanev and Kampf's contract gone which is a plus. I think in the prime years of Matthews, Marner, Willy, and Rielly there is no room to waste their talent - I believe sacrificing this year's draft for a potential Cup run is worth it. Even if it doesn't pan out; we need to aim for the cup and not be too conservative to the point where Matthews is scoring 70 goals a season to get knocked out in the first/second round.</div></div>
It's very fair and spot on. You got yourself all convoluted with the needless trades. Far too much to add tanev.

Trade Deadline - Playoff Push v3
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>kash</b></div><div>Well that is certainly an option. However, I don’t think getting rid of a terrible contract for a 4th line TWF that is struggling immensely to the point of being scratched is a “wacky trade”. Do I think Kampf is worth $2.4M? Hell no. Do I think he’s good enough to make our bottom 6? Still, hell no. But to his credit, there aren’t much better options for our depth when we have Gregor and Reaves included as well. The whole bottom-six is a mess and you know it! Now, if Kampf can turn it around this latter half of the season, I can see the Leafs keeping him; but that’s an if.</div></div>
No, trading a 1st for two 2nds before the TDL is a whacky trade. The bottom 6 is not a mess at all. Kampf was scratched for 1 game as an example. He is not a two way forward. He is a defensive centre. Apparently Dowd is worth a 1st. I don't think the million in cap is the difference between getting a 1st and giving a 2nd. Not that I think dowd is worth a first, but the point stands.
Personally I think you move kampf in a trade for a 3c. Teams are willing to take money back in trades. Defensive bottom 6 centre making 2.4m is nothing. In fact a team like the sabres could use his services.
Long story short, this place is full of people that undervalue leafs players as much as leafs fans overvalue them.

Trade Deadline - Playoff Push v3
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>kash</b></div><div>I would give up the first for Tanev but in order to acquire him someone has to go to clear cap space. Kampf has been horrible this season and I've done these Kampf dump trades in previous threads and I always get the same feedback; teams are not willing to take on Kampf's contract unless offered a decent draft pick as incentive.</div></div>
Ahhhh... I see you've bought into the capfriendly bull****. Maybe he does cost something to move. Maybe it's more than a 3rd. Maybe leafs add a mid prospect. Leafs don't need to make whacky trades.
What if I told you leafs can afford to add tanev at 50% retained carrying 3 goalies and a 23 man roster and 500k left over while still having kampf at 4c?... zero trades other than tanev for a 1st.

Seems like a lot of malarkey for no reason. Give Calgary the 1st and keep the rest of the assets. I don't think kampf costs anything to move. Defensive bottom 6C with term.
If he does use the islanders 3rd. Leafs are up a 5th and Topi.
