If Martin Jones were worth that TML wouldn’t be trying to move him. Jones is worth a late round pick at best.

When asked to do more than you’re capable of, everyone sucks. When Savard is asked to be a 3rd pairing d-man, 15-17 min/gp, pk & shot blocking specialist, he doesn’t suck. When you ask him to play 20+min/gp and go up against opponents best, he’s going to look bad.

He’s won a cup, and played a good part in that TBL cup win. He ain’t what he used to be, but he’s still solid.

I do love when people bring up accomplishments from years ago like they matter to how good a player is now. Savard is terrible, every habs defender has better metrics when he isnt playing with them, and if he was a 'good' bottom pairing guy then he'd be worth a 3rd at 1 mill aav. Yet habs fans demand a 1st++ when he makes almost 4x that with term. He's a bad player on a bad deal
