<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Coachchippy</b></div><div>It's a reflection on you that you don't answer any of my questions, or address any of my points, but want to turn around and say no one is ever going to change my mind. Lol. Pot calling the kettle black eh? My profile pic is funny. I didn't even make it myself. It's not me saying anything negative about Jesus (who I believe in BTW) so I would love to know what it "reflects" onto me.

Chytil is currently better than Mika at 5v5. Chytil's all-around game is better than Mika's was, when Mika was Chytil's age. If any NHL GM couldn't concede these things, just based on pure numbers, then they're idiots. The facts literally back up what I'm saying. Does that mean Chytil's current all-around game is better than Mika's current all-around game? No. But when all is said and done and both players are retired from hockey, I'd love to see who has the better career. Better stats and more accolades. Guarantee it will be Filip based on what we've already seen from him. So you initially telling me that "the numbers don't back up" my assertion was hilarious. Admit that you were wrong.</div></div>

OK Coach. I did go back and check Mika's stats to compare him to where Chytil is right now at age 24 and 58 days. Mika's season from 11-12 through the end of the 16-17 season compared to Chytil's career. Both started in the NHL at 18 and played 337 games; Mika 78 goals, 110 assists (16PP &amp; 2SH goals included) a .558 pts/game clip. Chytil 64 goals, 80 assists (10PP goals included) a .427 pts/game. CF% Mika - 54.8; Chytil - 51.5. XGF% Mika (-2.4), Chytil (-5.3). By the way, Mika accomplished this playing for Ottawa and then the Rangers with all of the adjustment that is normal moving to another team. Chytil is not a better player than Mika at the same age. As far as currently, Chytil has been given every opportunity to succeed for the Rangers. I am encouraged that he keeps getting better but until Chytil posts back to back seasons like Mika has, he is not a better player. You want another stat, check out the disparity of Ozone and Dzone 5v5 starts between Mika and Chytil for last season and this season. We may all think that NHL Coaches are idiots for not doing what we think they should but purposefully trying to lose games is not something they like to do. I know you are fixated on the 5v5 statistics but in order to understand that, you need to know what can skew the numbers. Mika plays on the 1st line while Chytil until this season played on the third line. That means that Mika's line more often than not would be playing against the other top line, at least more than Chytil's line was. Why? Again look at possession numbers and faceoff percentages. Chytil's lifetime faceoff % is 40.4%, Mika's is 50.5%. Finally, Mika's career oiGF/60 vs oiGA/60 is 2.9 vs 2.6; while Chytil's career oiGF/60 vs oiGA/60 is 2.4 vs 2.5. I like Chytil but he is not ready for 1C. Remember, he has had plenty of opportunity to prove everyone wrong, he has played in 337 NHL games. If he is truly ready to step up, he should be knocking down the Coach's door demanding to do so and more importantly proving it on the ice.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Coachchippy</b></div><div>No. There are certain untouchables on the Rangers. Those untouchables are: Chytil, Lafreniere, Kreider, Fox, and Schneider. I'll never change my opinion on those guys needing to stay for the future of our team. Kreider isn't out of a necessity for the future, but out of respect for a franchise legend who will be in the rafters at Madison Square Garden one day. It would be a travesty to run him out of town. Just like I thought it was a travesty to run Hank Lundqvist out of town. You don't see Pittsburgh running Crosby out of town or Washington running OV out of town.

Anyone else, I don't necessarily want gone, but they aren't untouchable. Kakko is an example of this. I'm fine with Kakko and have no problem with Kakko and I'm not necessarily trying to get rid of him. But if an offer came across Chris Drury's desk involving him and some other "touchable" Ranger for a star like Cozens, you simply have to do it in a heartbeat as a GM. Because Kakko, while not a liability like Zibanejad, hasn't proven himself to be an untouchable member in high standing, of the NYR.

Why would Chytil need to be traded? You can't just "forget stats for a second here", what an idiotic comment. He's fast, big, strong, drives to the net, and actually scores outside of the powerplay. Not to mention he took a discount on his last deal. I don't care about his face-off percentage, and I don't care that he missed 8 games last year. Those are minor problems and it's not that big of a deal. Cale Makar hasn't played a full 82 game season in his career. Should the Avs get rid of him? Is he not #1 Dman Material? How about Fox? Fox is about to miss a month. Does that make Fox soft and we should get rid of him? It's honestly weird that you guys hold Chytil's concussion history against him. I'm pretty sure that he doesn't control or enjoy being on the receiving end of dirty/late hits. And I don't care that Zibanajed has only missed 1 game since then. A lot of good that did us with all the Cups we've won since 2020-21, right?

And the numbers absolutely back up my assertion. Chytil's full 24yo season hasn't happened yet, so let's examine his 6th season (last year) to Zibanejad's 6th season:

Chytil 22G, 23A, TOI/G 14:41
Mika 14G, 23A TOI/G 17:04

Oh would you look at that, Zbad did less than Chytil and played on average 3 more minutes per night than Chytil did. And, during that season (2016-17), 4 of those goals and 7 of those assists were on the powerplay. Whereas last year, Chytil only had 3 goals and 2 assists on the powerplay. Chytil is more effective than Zibanejad 5v5 now AND when they were the same age. Zibanejad is a powerplay merchant and not fit to be the 1C on a Cup Winning Team. Go ask the Edmonton Oilers how well powerplay merchancy has served them. You clearly did zero research on this topic.</div></div>

No one is going to ever change your mind. You have Chytil's face superimposed over Jesus' image (which is a real reflection on you by the way) with a statement of Chytil 4 Conn Smythe. Have you ever played sports? Coached sports? I do like Chytil and feel for the kid in terms of his concussions. All I can tell you is that if you made that statement about Chytil being better than Mika to any of the NHL GMs, they would all laugh out loud and point out how wrong you are. Did you watch the game last night? If you really think that Chytil could have done the same things that Mika did (yes all of the intangibles), then you need to pick another sport to watch.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Coachchippy</b></div><div>Exactly. It's nothing against Trochek as a player or as a person. But the sad reality is that the Rangers are broke and have no cap space. So we need to be making smarter decisions money wise. He realistically shouldn't have been signed in the first place. Imagine what this team could have done with a Panarin-Chytil-Lafreniere line last year. Everyone wants to run Goodrow out of town but can't face the sad fact that Trochek might be a cap casualty too.</div></div>

How can you imagine what the team could have done with a Panarin-Chytil-Laf line last year? You have been proposing trading Panarin for anyone who can lace up their skates. At least be a little self-aware of your past commentary. Trochek is playing third line this year. Let's see what his production is playing the full year in that role. If you look at his career stats, the $5.6M is not out of line for a 2-way center.
