That's pure speculation, players are always unhappy at exit interviews when they don't make the playoffs. But Calgary isn't selling low on him either, he makes 3M and every contender will be calling about him. Your offer is ok but outside of Broz it's really not that enticing

Yeah, we’ve been ridding ourselves of players who are no longer interested in being Flames, but Markstrom is probably the last guy left wanting out…
Lindholm gambled on himself and lost, good riddance to him. Flames are building a new arena and the Team is content again, with Kadri & Weegar outwardly communicating their desire to stay & win in CGY, so the times are a changing and Calgary is quickly becoming a much more desirable City to play in

Calgary ain't accepting that and we ain't giving them what they want for their old as dirt goalie.
Not sure how many more threads it takes to establish that.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Devsfan25</b></div><div>Vegas gonna need to shed some cap and Bahl+ 3rd is more than fair for Hague
Markstrom had a disastrous last quarter of the season after the complete debacle by CGY management leading up to the TDL. We know 3 things regarding the Markstrom situation :
1) He clearly doesn’t wanna be in CGY anymore
2) He’s willing to waive to NJ
3) CGY likes Holtz</div></div>
Vegas only needs to shed cap if they want to keep Marchessault. And even then they probably don't move Hague.
Markstrom didn't have a disastrous quarter, the quality of the team took a nose dive after moving Hanifin and Tanev.

NJD fans should just stop trading for Markstrom. The offers just keep getting worse.
I don't see the Flames moving Markstrom with retention unless they're getting significant future assets back.
If the Devils' management is like dgibb and thinks that Markstrom is an inconsistent .900 goalie, then the Devils won't be trading for him, because the Flames value him like a top 10 starter in the NHL.

Sabres Trade Deadline
Woefully inadequate offer for Rasmus Andersson, who isn't on the market unless a 2024 first plus some significant other parts are involved. With two more seasons left on his deal, he'll get a better package than Jake Muzzin.

Even if it isn't a slam dunk that he re-signs and wants a trade (which given his recent comments is extremely unlikely), he's simply worth more than your offer.</div></div>
If they can't extend him by the TDL, then a trade isn't out of the question. I like the player, and I agree that he is worth more, notwithstanding the lengthy hiatus, which is why I'm curious to see how it unfolds.

1. Zero interest in Merkulov, doesn't fit any team needs and isn't that good of a prospect.
2. That's simply not enough, just because your cupboards are nearly empty doesn't mean that the few things in there are worth a lot to other teams.
Come back when you are offering Poitras or Lohrei with your 1st

Would you trade Andersson for that package? That’s absolutely disgusting offer for Andersson. He’s so valuable to the Flames. It would have to be something that hurts to trade in order for Flames to ship him off. Chychrun is running out of teams. He’s got red flags all over him. He’s not going to land you a top pairing RH D on an incredible contract. At this point he’s probably getting you a 2nd round pick.
The second offer for Andersson is not getting any better. Flames would be looking for a top lline centre in order to trade our top D.

There is plenty of articles such as this and it’s very obvious considering he just watched Tanev, Gaudreau, and Tkachuk move to the States.
I highly doubt you guys have enough flexibility to pay Hanifin his expected 7-8 million when you have half your cap tied to 4 players.</div></div>
Thanks for sharing. Friedman is usually pretty spot on but still gotta wonder if Toronto would be a possible exception in this case. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Wolf
Coronato
Honzek
Poirier
Brzustewicz
Solovyov
Kuznetsov
Morin
Sunieyev
Maybe Topi >= Morin or Cowan >= Sunieyev today but Morin and Sunieyev are both younger, likely to pass the two Leafs and IMO more likely to become regulars in the NHL.
BTW, though I didn't count him, Jakob Pelletier is technically still a prospect too.

Yeah sorry man I didnt praise Rasmus enough??? What do you want a paragraph about how good he is, you’re just looking to whine.
A mid prospect is like Minten.
Getting topi and a first is a great return for a UFA but cry more without offering any useful rebuttal.
You got the Leafs two best prospect but act like you got their 7th and 8th. This offer would be close (KEY WORD) to Coronato and Porier (Coronato clears Cowan easily and I’d personally take Topi over Porier but that’s really just a coin toss).</div></div>
They may be the Leafs two best prospects but they'd be more like 7th or 8th on the Flames.
Besides I don't even agree they are your 2 best prospects. I'd take Minten over Cowan or Niemela. He'd have a better chance of making the Flames roster than either of those two and sooner too.
