yes, but you did know it's not all about points, right?
Ironically, that is the majority of your contentions for players when I present "advanced" stats.
The fact is that Patrick Kane can have offensive production that is unprecedented every. single. year. John Tavares, yeah, he's offensively talented, but he isn't a guy I want to rely on with less than 2 minutes and say, "hey, go tie this game up," or "we need to score to stay alive".
Patrick Kane is a stud on offense, more so that it offsets his defensive play.
Yeah Kane over Tavares and I hate Kane/ love Tavares. Can’t deny whose better thougb

Yes, but if you have a guy who's more of an all-round player, you won't get to that situation as often.

Top 10 players in the NHL (no order)
Karlsson
Stamkos
Crosby
McDavid
Price
Hedman
Malkin
Kane
Benn
Kucherov/Tarasenko
Take out kuch, throw in Tavares and that list is spot on
I agree JT should be on that list but Kucherov makes it too ...
Without changing to subject. Look through my comment history and I'm just going to say I agree with leaving him out. Not saying anything more. Don't want to make people mad. It's just an opinion.
You get on Kane's case for a lack of "defensive play" but still have Ovi on the top 10 forwards?
Well he has a better defensive game than Kane.
Not until recently. Trotz has gotten on him and made him change his game to play more defensively (and it looks like it's cost him some of his offensive potential).
Kane's never even come close to the -35 Ovechkin put up a few years ago lol.

but this is now we're talking about. We aren't saying top 10 forwards a few years ago.

Oh so we're talking now? So 33 goals and 69 points is top 10 forward level for Ovi then?

Ovechkin isn't that good anymore and you still have him in top 10...
