Tkachuk is untouchable. Why trade a superior player in Tkachuk who is under control for years for an older , less effective player in Pacioretty?

I dont want a goalie in the package for reinhart, and the sabres are not in a position to move out d. I dont think i would do it straight up tbh, age and contract matter, and we are a bubble team at best if the season goes well. Timeline doesnt really work. The value is probably fair, just not something i would do.

IMO - your evaluation of players on either side is way off. You have Patch being undersold on some trades and oversold on others.

issue that happens a lot of this site is people mix up value and team fit when discussing trades. Like the Avs in this case. Is Patches for Duchene fair value. You can argue that. Is there a fit there with the trades, absoviely not for the avs. Wouldnt trade Duchene for a less versatile Top 6 fwd and not solve their D issues.

If he addresses team fits better and don't focus on trying to acquire young ELC, Bridge level deals with other teams, it would be more realistic. ELCs and Bridge players are worth their weight in gold bc of team control
